Photoshop :: Making A High Res Image From A Low Res Pic

Feb 25, 2005

I'm currently designing a T-shirt for an event. I've made a few shirts in the past and they required about a 600dpi image for best results. However, the image available to me is at 72dpi (comes off a website).

It is from the movie "Team America". I can get the 1024x768 image from the downloads section where the puppet is looking into the fiery background with "TEAM AMERICA" and all else on it. However I need that background ONLY, minus all the text and extras. If anything, just the puppet, but nothing else.

Actually, since the website is in flash, there is an intro where for a brief moment, that very image (when it is blank) appears and everything comes down on it. At that second, I did a Print Screen and captured it. I created a new image in PS at 600dpi and attempted to stretch it. I have a 17" monitor so if I try to view the image as a whole, its at 15% or so, so it still looks good. When I zoom in all the way to 100%, its very blurry. Is there a way to sharpen the image accurately where it won't be noticeable on a t-shirt?

CorelDRAW X5 :: Making High Quality Screenshots

I have some labels created in an outdated Bar-One software program on an old computer and the only way I can move them to a new software is to make a screenshot of the labels and then import that bitmap image into Corel. My question is what is the best way to make the highest quality screenshot on any computer?

P.S. Is it possible to photograph a computer screen and get a good high resolution image (as an alternative to screenshots)?

3ds Max Modeling :: Scaling Low And High Poly / Viewport Clipping Making Model Disappear

Apr 3, 2011

What i have is a low polymodel that's quite small in scale, i'm modelling around a higher poly model, when i zoom in, the viewport clipping kicks in and parts of the model disappear, so i cant work on the small details. What i need to do is scale up both my low poly and high poly, work on the small details and scale it back down.

In maya there are multiple solutions to this; The first and most obvious would be to increase the near clip in the camera attributes.

The second would be to freeze transformations on the low and high poly, scale up the model, work on it and then scale it back to the value of 1.

The third would be to put both the low and high poly models into a group, scale up the group, work on the model, return the group back to its default size and ungrouping. Personally i would use this method to preserve the original scale values on the low and high poly models.

Is there a way of doing any of the above in 3ds max?

Photoshop :: High Resolution Image In CS5

Dec 5, 2012

This may seem a simple issue , but i want to make a picture that is 140mm by 170mm using an existing hi res image , i've put the sizes into a new document in ps.

I then dragged the high res photo i need into Photoshop, the photo is 6144pxl by 4113pxl so is very large, but when i drag it to PS it goes really small about a quarter of the size of the new document template, i then drag the image to to my new correct sized document template but i have to enlarge it , which in turn makes it go blurred.

Photoshop :: Pasting High Res Logo On A Low Res Image

Sep 20, 2006

I am using photoshop cs 2 on a windows xp.

i have a logo which is in resolution 300

i have to apply the logo to vaious files which are resolution 150 or 120 or even 300

I have an action created for doing that

My problem is that the logo resizes itself on a 120 res image and a 150 res image. as in it enlarges.

Its normal for that to happen i know due to differences in the resolution.

How can i constrain the logo from resizing onto different resolution images.

As in i cant lock my logo layer cause my action consists of creating guides, aligning the logo horizontal left and vertical below and merging the layers and finally saving the files.

What can i do to constrain the logo size from changing on different resolution images.

my logo size is 5.5" x 2.5"

my images sizes are 45" x 225"

Photoshop :: High-Res Image - Use Blending Mode To Extract

Aug 27, 2011

I have a high-res image of a model of a ship that I'm looking to put on top of a seascape image. The pictures below are a lot smaller and cropped then actual.

Here is a crop of the image of the ship, luckily it's on a plain background and nothing more complicated: After much trial and error, Fluid Mask did a decent job and I'm on the fence about saying useable:

However, this is a thought I had when scrolling through blending modes on the ship's layer. Here it is on Multiply:

Obviously it's too dark, but in terms of the edges on the small details like the ropes, it looks great. I got thinking about somehow automating Photoshop to recognize wherever a pixel is different from the background layer below it, Photoshop would be able to tell where the image is and where the background is, since Multiply removes any white but leaves other colors (albeit darker).

I don't know how this would be done if it's possible at all, I'm guessing with some sort of code made into a plugin or something.

Photoshop :: Best Settings For Saving High Image Quality / Small File Size (under 1 MB) PDF?

The PSD is currently 2550x3300 px (8.5x11 in) at 300 dpi. I'd like to save the resume as a PDF flie so I can submit it online. I have no intentions of printing this particular document. Most websites will only accept a file size of under 1MB. What are the ideal settings for saving a PDF in the smallest file size without sacrificing on image quality? I should also note that I do not have Acrobat Pro.

Photoshop Elements :: Why Is High Resolution Image Pixelating When Dragged Onto Smaller Canvas

Aug 3, 2013

I have an image (1200mm x 1200mm) very sharp and crisp. (A photo that i have worked on and has lots of detail) I drag this image onto a canvas size of 150mm x150mm - and the image loses all of its sharpness. It is not apparent until i zoom in to see the detail. (PSE10) I'm sure that there is a box somewhere to tick..........but i cannot find it.

when i drag it over, it is still the large size, so i grab the grips/handles and shrink to fit, then it pixelates?

Obviously I can turn the first floor RCP on in the view and manually draw the information, but I assume these lines won't move if the walkways above move (or am I wrong?).  Also this seems slightly wrong given the amount of automation available.

Illustrator :: CS6 - Creating High-resolution 3D Wrapped Image

Nov 13, 2012

I'm having extreme trouble creating a high-res 3d wrapped image.  Here [URL] .... is the image.

You can see that the 3d rendering is only a few points, all smooth curves.  My raster effects settings are high (CMYK 300PPI).  The symbol image that I've wrapped is a 300PPI JPG file created from Photoshop, saved as a JPG, then placed and embedded in AI.  Yet that text is atrocious.  You can even clearly see the poor anti-aliasing colors that are going on.  Several letters are not able to be read at all.

I've tried rasterizing the object using high res settings, anti-alias on and off.  I've tried copy/pasting as a smart object into Photoshop.  I've tried almost everything I can think of and I can't get this text to appear crisp on the bottle.  It's a simple bottle, only 4 or so points and there are only 3 possible surfaces to map.  I deliberately drew it that way to reduce any drag on the system.  I'm on a 2009 iMac running Mountain Lion and 16GB RAM, i5.

This issue has plagued me honestly for months and I always end up doing a significant amount of retouching in Photoshop because of it.  I'd like to create a crisp 3d wrap in AI if possible to hasten my workflow.

Maybe the answer is that AI isn't really suited and I need to look into a more dedicated 3d program.

AutoCad :: PDF With High Resolution Image Huge File Size

Jan 14, 2014

I am trying to export PDFs of drawings with a high resolution image covering almost an entire A1. I realize of course that the file will be very large but it is much larger than I feel it should, and there are also some discrepancies.

The original image is around 100 MB, but only about half is visible in the viewport, so the PDF should be around 50 MB if there is no compression (only negligible amounts of text and lines besides the image), however if I plot it to a PDF using Adobe PDF, setting the resolution to 300 dpi and medium JPEG compression the resulting file is 150 MB. If I choose 72 dpi and low JPEG compression the file looks very bad and compressed but is still around 40 MB in size. This is far too large considering the amount of compression visible in the image, it looks like a 500 KB file tops.

However if I use the DWG to PDF printer instead of the Adobe PDF I can get a very good looking file at around 2,5 MB. Very suitable for printing, but the compression shows if you look up close in the computer (which is a requirement for these files). The odd thing here is that it makes no difference what resolution I set it to, 150 DPI to 1200 DPI creates the same looking file at exactly the same size. I'd like to be able to create a 2,5 MB file to email and a very high quality file for archivation, but not 150 MB large.

Another odd thing is that if I print another file but with the same type of image (a different facade) with 1200 DPI I get a very high quality file of 40 MB, but if I repeat the exact steps and settings for the first file I end up with a 150 MB file. Of course some differences in the image would account for some of this, but not nearly of this magnitude. I deleting everything from the large file and copying in the content from the small file, and successfully printed a 40 MB file again, so there doesn't seem to be some setting or bug in the file I am printing from, rather something in the original file with the image that I have Xref'ed.

How I would go about creating a very high quality file that doesn't bloat up way more than the original image? A 40 MB file is great considering the images are huge, but I can't get this result consistently.

I got it figured out before but I reloaded Gimp on my computer so the settings went back to default. It has something to do with increasing the cache size or the total new image size or something. I can't remember.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Bitmap Tracing High Quality Image So No Lines Between Colors?

I am trying to do a bitmap trace of an image.  The resulting vector is OK, except that, between every shape of a single color, there is a line, and that line is made a color, either transparent, or a specified color - and thickness.

The preview creates a desired result, but the end product is the problem.  When I click on the vector, I can change the color of the lines between the colors in the vector, and in the dockers, I can change the thickness to "none" but a line still exists between the shapes.  The previews are just fine, what can I do to make this guy not look like a puzzle?  Its as if the shapes in the vector do not touch each other.  The previews show no lines between the shapes/colors, except in the final output.
