how to take a photo - cut out an object in said photo - and have the newly cut object be its own new entity?
I just want to cut stuff out of existing photos...I used to have an old Photoshop where I did lots of this - but none of those tools seem to be part of this new version I have...
I am trying to open a RAW photo in Photoshop CS5 as a Smart Object. I have the photo selected in Bridge. When I go to execute File>Place in Bridge CS5 the menu entry indicates there should be a menu displayed. However, clicking on Place does not bring up a menu.
In Photoshop there is open a blank file to receive the photo. Why do I not receive a menu?
I have a photo which I need removing an object. The photo is of a butterfly. However, there is a white sign with Thanks written. I didn't notice the sign when I took the photo. I'm not sure what is the best way to remove this sign.
I'm trying to select an object out of photo. I want just the object and not the background.
I've been trying to use the magnetic lasso, but when I get to an area where there's a shadow (lack of contrast) the magnetic lasso becomes somewhat less useful.
In my sports photos too many have blurred soccerballs or volleyballs. I am looking at removing the blurred object and replacing with a new clear object.I am new to Adobe Photoshop.

replaced the head on the attached photo and would like to use this for an employee presentation. How I can make it look a little more real? The employees are going to know that it was photoshopped, but still would like to make it better if possible. I still feel the head is a little too bright.
How do I make a certain object in a color picture and make just that object black and white? Or even vice versa? Take the the object of a black and white pic and have it in it's original color?
In Photoshop 11, I have used a tool, similiar to the clone, that blends an unwanted object from a photo and replaces the object with pixils adjacent to it, but I can no longer find it. How do I do this. It seemed to work better for me in some cases better than the clone.
Having trouble bringing LR5 up. Had been working fine. Get msg, Could not run script: LibraryFactory.lua Error: Recursive load attempt for namespace: Library View
how to send a raw photo from lightroom to photoshop as a smart "object" not a flat "image" so it does not flatten the image but so I still get all the adjustments i have made in lightroom to show up in photoshop?
Instead of opening the psd-file normally from bridge into photoshop the file converts to smart object.
I used to work with CS3 where double-clicking in Bridge on a psd-file would open it in Photoshop. Now, when I double click in Bridge (CS6) it opens a "quick time pro" file, which I definitely don't want. When I use the right mouse to "place in Photoshop" it does so, but then automatically converts the file into a smart object, which I don't want either. What need I do to open a psd-file in Bridge as normal psd-file in Photoshop?
I am a logo designer, and I have this photo realistic mockup for logos. So i have a layout where the main logo is a little above center, and below are two mock ups. So I am trying to have it where I can just make a change in the illustrator file and Photoshop can instantly make the change. The problem is that I am using two different mock ups and I have to edit both the mock ups (double click opening another window and pasting the smart object) to use them. The top layer is ok, because it will update itself.
I want a way to edit the illustrator logo and Photoshop to make all the changes in all three displays itself. The problem is that the bottom displays open up other Photoshop windows, with smart objects within them, but if I open up the top smart object, then it automatically opens illustrator.
So is there a way to just make one change in illustrator and Photoshop to automatically update it all.
I need to know if Photoshot element software will enable me to remove an unwanted object from a photo ( a sign in the background for example). Also if I have a good shot with a bad facial expression, I could remove bad facial shot and replace with a better one from another photo?
I'm kinda new to Xara Photo and graphic Designer 6. I have photos of appliance spares. I need to use only the images of the spare parts for an advert(of which the background will be white) - I dont want the background of the photo.
I'm guessing that this is a super simple question, but evidently I'm not sharp enough to figure it out....I've imported a bitmap file [.tif] into PP, & it's MUCH larger than the letter-size canvas I'm using. So I'm wondering what the simple method is to fit that bitmap to the canvas. The thing that's driving me nuts is, I select this big bitmap [it's roughly 3300 px by 2800 px, FWIW], go into Image > Resample, & under "Image size" it's giving me 11.0 x 8.5! And why PP is saying that the image is already the same size as the canvas--well that's why I'm writing this post. Cause I don't know why.
So let's say I want to use a picture of a coca-cola bottle from an image I found on the internet, or I take a pic of one... what is the best way to cut-it-out?
1) For instance, sometimes, the object is cut out of a white background and I want to use it on a black background... leaves a nasty outline :( - maybe its easier to take a pic of the object on a black background (which is what I usually do - but I don't feel like getting the camera out - besides, I then almost always need to touch up the photo)
and
2) how do I easily smooth the edges if a use the colour wand? before or after cutting out (Copy to clipboard)?
I am trying to delete an object background to create a gif of an object (the object in this case is a broken cell phone). Everything appears to be gone BUT...there are these flowing blue items around the object. When I export the file to gif...those items are still attached to the object.
I have used photo shop and have not had any issue removing a background around an object.
making a GIF with PP. I'm working on a really simple one, I have a background, and I have an object that I want to move into the frame, then back out of the frame. Then loop.
Do I really have to combine the moving object with the back ground EVERY single frame?
Is there a way to say take this object over this many frames and move it from here to there?
Is there a way to save the position of the object in each frame without combining it to the background each time? I'd like to set it, go to the next frame, move it, go to the next frame, move it, repeat.
