i want to uplaod some text into photoshop, i know you have ot put it into common files under adobe and then fonts but it doesnt show in photoshop, the only possible reason i can think of is this text i am trying to upload is true type font and all the others are open font, can i change it any way or any possibilities of uploading the text in a different way?
I have put some new fonts into C:/windows/fonts and they have come up in other programs e.g. Microsoft office but they are not showing up in photoshop.
i am using vista home premium with SP1 and it is 32bit and photoshop cs4.
, i recently upgraded to Adobe Photoshop CS5 but I appear to have lost all my downloaded fonts from the CS4 version of the software, when I had CS4 and wanted to add new fonts I just included them into my mico word and for some reason they popped into Photoshop also, I done this with several fonts I downloaded and used often in CS4, Â I thought as they where in micro word then they would not be replaced when updating CS4 to CS5, but they do not appear, i have looked in the woord fonts and they are still avalible to use there, but dont appear in the list of fonts for CS5, is CS5 set up a little different, like to i need to copy the fonts over into a file that resides in CS5
I manually cancelled tons fo fonts that I previously installed in Windows/Fonts folder but Photoshop CS4 still shows the font names in the font list and I can't get rid of them..What should I do to have only available fonts in the list? Now available fonts are shown with name and sample, missing fonts just have names (it obviously can't preview them because they are not in the font folder)...
My client and I are going back and forth on different computers and versions of Photoshop (cs4 for him and cs6 for me) and we are using the exact same font files. (I have quadruple checked this!!) We are also using the same settings and preferences both on screen and when we "save for web.
Also, all fonts are set to "crisp" -- BUT when we look at the files both on screen in photoshop, and on an ipad or screen as a .gif -- the cs6 version looks a TINY bit bolder/thicker. I'm working with various fonts and they're all doing this. See the two images below, I know the difference is almost insignificantly small, but this is an issue for the project we're working on. Â CS4: CS6:
I have been exporting docs to pdf/x and the fonts are not showing up on Macs only on pc's? If this is a bug I hope we are not going to have to wait until next version for this to be fixed.
In Illustrator CS5, I would use a font called Kozuka Mincho Pro/EL. Illustrator's font selector would show the font with the English name. I'm on a Mac running 10.7.4 and Font Book shows me the font with the English name as well. After upgrading to CS6, the font name in Illustrator is being displayed in Japanese. Unfortunately, I don't read Japanese. Is there some way to correct this on my end or is there a bug in Illustrator CS6?
I'm working on coreldraw x3 and when I try and use one of my installed fonts such as LHF Lincoln it's in the drop down menu but once I try and change text to the LHF lincoln font the sample text goes blank. When I find the LHF font in the drop down menu it doesn't show an example of the font style like the rest of the fonts I have installed. I tried to reinstall but no luck. Any font I have installed that doesn't show a preview of the font, I can't use. Most of them are OTF fonts but I have other OTF fonts that work fine. Why a font in my font list shows up but goes blank when I try and apply the font style to some text?
FontNav is still not showing all fonts correctly. My screen grab shows FN displaying Cambria without regular which as you can see from the CDraw window behind is definitely there on my system. At least now FN isn't preventing the font styles it can't see being used.
I have the latest update 3 of x6 and have deleted and remade FN's font database. The problem appears both on my Win7 64bit desktop and Win7 32bit laptop.
some of my outlined fonts are showing up as "unpainted objects" in the cleanup function, yet when i click on them individually they show that they have a fill color. There have been other occasions where i had an outlined font which "looked" like it had a fill color, yet when i clicked on one of the letters it showed both the fill and stroke as having none.
I'm trying to do something in comic sans italic but the only fonts for comic are regular and bold, no italic. There is italic for comic in front page, note pad and outlook so it's installed on my PC (I know it's part of XP).
I want to see "resent" fonts when choosing, be able to type letter to get down the list quickly, group similar fonts, etc. Maybe have a magnifying glass attached to cursor to see fonts better.... Why have this not been done?
Once I installed windows 7, while I WAS using PSE 9, I had the tiny font problem. I stopped using PSE for 2 years. I just installed PSE 11. Though better, the Font is still way smaller than I would like. Maybe it's just tougher for seniors? Can they not make the font adjustable? I was told there is no way to increase the size of the font?
It used to be that I very rarely used fonts within CS5 but recently I have. I realized that all of the fonts supposedly included with CS5 are not available via my drop down menu.  I then found these fonts in Windows/fonts so I copied all of those fonts into Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts. These unavailble fonts are now listed in that folder but are still not available via the dropdown menu in PS CS5.  I've recently read that the fonts don't really even NEED to be in the Program Files/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts folder and that PS should actually make all of the fonts in Windows/Fonts available via the dropdown menu. Yes, I have restarted PS after copying the files and also tried rebooting my PC after copying the files. The fonts are still not available via the drop down text menu within PS even though all of them are now in both locations.
never knew there has a font folder in the user profile for Gimp until I wiped my user profile and moved all patterns, gradients, brushes, etc I have been putting in the program folder to the user profile folder because I read on here that it is better to keep all that stuff in the user profile folder of Gimp... my question is, what is the difference between installing your fonts into the system and placing them into the fonts folder in Gimp (besides all programs being able to use them)?? I've been installing all my fonts into the system I wanna use in Gimp... is it better to use the font folder in the Gimp user profile or to install them into the system?
how to get Gimp to only showfonts from the user/fonts file rather than the vast amount of system fonts.
I think you should read the original mail again. Hint: "system fonts not shown" is not the problem, but the desired outcome.I have accidentally read a "not" into the original mail, thus it became "to get Gimp to *not* only show fonts from the user/fonts file"
The configuration to check is the fonconfig settings then, for example the the global, system-wide fonts.conf file. It may contain references to the global font directories, for example /usr/share/fonts/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts. URL....
If you comment those out, then you can (and have to) add all font directories in GIMP's settings, for example.
If I'm creating a Photoshop PDF in order to keep the type in vector format, will the font then be embedded in the PDF? I'm not rasterizing the type since I want it to stay vector, but then I'm worried that if I share the file someone else will have trouble with it. I made a Photoshop PDF yesterday that I needed to share -- I just sent the font along with it. I knew it would probably ask for the font if they attempted to edit it in Photoshop -- but if they just printed it from the PDF maybe it would be embedded? Acrobat is listing it as an embedded subset, but I don't see how it can be embedded if the editing capabilities are still there.
Can I add fonts to photoshop? There is a font that I really like but there is nothing like it in photoshop. It's called de-generation, and it looks like this
I donwloaded some fonts of the web and saved them to the fonts folder in common files. But when i go to Photoshop the fonts are not listed on the fonts list. I'm using Photoshop CS3 Extended.
There seem to be certain fonts which are used often these days for rebrands/refreshes (i.e. Gotham, Myriad, etc). So which 'contemporary' fonts do you think no designer should be without?
