Jul 28, 2006I am having trouble with cutting out a part of an image and saving whatever I cut out as a different file. Meaning, I only want to save what I cut out.

CorelDRAW Graphics Suite X6 :: Paste Path In File Dialog And File Export Presets
Sep 11, 2012After finally getting X6 to be stable and usable I have two things I'd like to mention..
First, I've been using a 3rd party file manager called Ztree for years and one of its most wonderful capabilities is to copy paths to the clipboard which alleviates opening/saving frustrations with the typical Windoze Explorer dialogs. Anyway, one of the first problems I noticed with X6 is that Paste no longer works in the Open Drawing dialog, while it worked just fine in X5 and as far as I can remember, all previous versions. I sure would like to get that back.
My second complaint is the File/Export routine and specifically the presets. I do a lot of exporting to PNG and JPG and use multiple presets for fixed size/print resolution image output in both file formats. During the typical export session, I essentially export multiple different drawings all of which are exactly the same size/resolution in CD and in the past (X4 and prior as I recall,) was able to just hit <Enter> when the Export dialog appeared once the preset was set to the one I needed for that session.
In X6 though (and to some degree in X5,) even though the correct preset is listed, CD doesn't appear to recognize it, i.e., the math for the size/dpi conversion doesn't take place which forces me to waste time selecting "Original" or some other preset first, waiting for CD to render the new version, and THEN selecting the conversion preset that was pre-selected when I first opened the export dialog.

Aug 10, 2012I am saving graphics from Word for usage in a Framemaker document. When I copy and paste the file into Photoshop it becomes blurred and unusable. How do I resolve this? I have tried saving the file in it's highest resolution but that doesn't work either.

Jun 25, 2012I transfer my adjustments from lightroom to photoshop for additional editing. The adjustments show in the new Photoshop file. However, when I make a selection from that file and copy and paste it into a different Ps file, it does not show the adjustments. I even tryed saving the adjusted photoshop file as a jpeg and then opening it up and reselecting what I want.....Copy and paste it.....and the adjustments still don't appear on the different Ps file/photo. How can I keep the adjustments made in lightroom as a selection to copy and paste to a new file?

Mar 6, 2013Our department currently uses MS Paint to place varied colored boxes for call outs on top of screen figures used in our documentation. As you know, MS Paint is not a robust image editing application, and we are frustrated at its limitations (especially not having a "non-destructive" edit capability).
Consequently, we are evaluating a trial version of PS to see how a workflow could be developed that would allow the department to use call out boxes "stored" in a PS file that could be applied in an easy, consistent manner to our screen figures (but also keep each call out box editable) using PS.
Consequently, in PS using the shape tool, I created a file with our colored boxes for call outs, each on its own layer. Now I am trying to determine how you copy and paste a box (or layer) from this file to a "working" file (one containing a screen figure), while keeping all of its attributes (color, line weight, being editable, etc.). I can't seem to find an option to do this. Is there? If not, is there another workflow in PS that you can recommend for this type of procedure?

What is the best way to strip or "scrub" the WP formatting codes out so there's no chance of corrupting my .indd chapter files or the .indb book file? In the past I would cut it from WP, paste it into a new Windows Notepad document, then cut and paste it back into my .indd files. Someone told me that this does not actually scrub the file.

Aug 7, 2013I am using ACAD 2005 and am trying to copy&paste several objects from a layer I created in one .dxf file to one of the 2 standard layers (0 or Defpoints) in a new blank .dxf file.
My problem though is that if I copy and paste all of the objects (or even one of them) and them move to the new file and paste, it pastes the objects, but also "imports" into the new file the original file's layer that these objects were on.
For clarity, the new file only has the 2 standard layers and then after copy/pasting an object, the file manager shows the 3rd layer from the original file.

Jun 13, 2013If I copy a single line from a file then paste it into a new file with nothing in it and save, I end up with a 3 or 4 meg file. I noticed when I paste the line into the new drawing, I get the following message over and over:
Substituting [simplex.shx] for [OA_Edina.shx].
Substituting [simplex.shx] for [OA_2007.shx].
We have files that are 20 or 30 meg that should only be 1 or 2 meg. Purge and audit in the .dwg does not work. One way to fix it is to dxfout then purge and audit the .dxf file, then save back to .dwg. The audit typically finds tens of thousands of errors. This process takes a long time and the problem comes back as soon as someone copies something into the file. We need a more permanent fix.

Oct 16, 2012When I try to Copy & Paste an object from one file to another, appears following alert window: “This application has detected a mixed version of AEC objects participating in this operation. Newer AEC objects will be disallowed from participating in this operation”. And I cannot paste the object copied from other file. This happened to me when I work with Autocad2010 using drawings saved as Autocad2004 in Autocad2013.
Since I am working in a group of people that have different versions of Autocad, I need the solution for this problem.

In the right Mouse click drop down window the Paste, Paste as Block and the Paste to Original Coordinates are grayed out.
The copy with Base Point works, as does the Ctrl+V and Ctrl+Shift+V and repeat Paste Block from the recent Input drop down selection. Why the paste commands are grayed out?

Apr 5, 2013This has happened on all versions of AutoCAD in our office.
I paste schedules from Excel into AutoCAD. I print out the sheets and ghost lines appear on the PDF and hard copy that were not intentionally place in the excel file. What is happening and what can be done about it.
I also paste a tif file on a sheet change the setting to imageframe <0> and a residual line willl appear in pdf and hard copy that seems to be the border of the tif image.

May 29, 2013I have AutoCAD 2013 and often "paste special" excel files that automatically update when the excel file changes.The problem I'm running into is I work with a person who has uses an older version of CAD 2004, so I always save to the older format for him.
When I etransmit, I be sure to add the excel file, but when he opens the dwg, only the outline of the excel appears in his dwg, no content.

But When I try to, I can only select one layer at a time, IE, the gold, the diamonds, etc.

I figured out you use the move tool to move the pasted part to where you want it but it's to big, i need to make the paste a bit smaller.

I have another photo where his arms moved...blurred; but his eyes are open wide. How do I copy the open eyes and move them onto the closed eye photo? I did it in Elements but want to learn how to do it in CS2.

Jun 28, 2013I created a selection around a face in one photo, then copied it and tried to paste it into another photo, but it won't paste no matter what I try. The photo I'm copying from is only one layer and I have the move tool selected when I copy. May 15, 2004Basicly what I have is a picture on one layer. But I want to take a part of that picture, cut it, and put it on another layer. However, when I use the lasso tool or whatever to select it, I hit Ctrl+X to cut it and Ctrl+V to paste it. It pastes it on a new layer but it's in the center of the image. I want to cut it and paste it in the same spot that I selected it. Is this possible?

Apr 24, 2009I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit. I am having trouble copying and pasting things. The issue is that after I copy something/Print Screen, it takes several pastes for Photoshop to finally realize the change. Basically, the first couple of times I paste, the thing that was previously copied gets pasted it. I don't know if it's making a difference but it switches the paste to the latest thing that was copied faster after I minimize and maximize back the program. It's extremely annoying especially because then I have to either undo each time/delete the layers. Plus, I do a lot of frame comparisons between different video sources and it's hard to tell whether the thing being pasted was changed or not.
