View 2 Replies View RelatedEvery tool with the triangle on the bottom right corner doesn't allow me to see the other tools that are available in that selection area. I can hold down the alt key and click on the icon (tool) and it switches but it doesn't have the drop down menu when I right click on it. I'm sure this is something simple and I've searched the web for a similar issue but nothing related is coming up.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using photoshop cs2 on windows xp. I intend to edit a photo which is a gif file.
I open the photo File-->Open--> <<file name>>. It opens but everything is locked/disabled. Only the tools menu like crop/select etc are enabled. Even the layer is locked and it is disabled.
Please suggest what could be the problem and how can i edit it. It is not a read only file and it does not have any permission issues.
I have a very small document (image) I want to use the Liquify filter on but its goes so small while in the Liquify edit window It is really tough to get to what I need to see,My question is ,Is there away to increase the edit or preview window size or is it locked to default?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI exported a few png's out of Avid that I want to edit in Gimp and bring into After Effects. It's a process I've done many times before. However, none of my tools seem to be working. They either give me the circle with a line through it or have no effect at all. I've found a few similar posts on various websites, but none of the solutions have worked for me. It's a brand new file, I'm opening for the first time., which is the only variable I can think of.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've recently switched from 6 to 7. When I open an image the layer is locked and I can't unlock it (greyed out). This prevents me from adding the drop shadows I need to add. Any answers out there, please?
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhat is/are the benefits of having every background layer of a newly opened document locked? I have never come across a need for it and wish it wasn't. It only means I have to create a new layer and import an image to that. Or, double click the layer to unlock it. Is there a way to permanently eliminate that "preference?" It's like entering a room with your shoes tied together.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI am using CS4. I have a partially locked layer. It is not the background layer. I partially locked it myself but forgot how I did it. How do I unlock it?
View 2 Replies View Relatedone layer in a photoshop document has a padlock on it; no clue how it got there. I can't make it go away; perhaps the method is different in CS6 than in previous versions...
Any clue about this? I can't fill a selection on this particular layer...don't know why. The layer in question IS selected, and the selection is active, etc.
CS5 - the background layer - although it shows as being locked - it is not -- when I add a new layer the new information also changes in the background layer - how do you fix that?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI start a new document and try to paint on it I get some warning that the layer is locked or some garbage, so I create a new layer and try to paint on that and it's like stuck on the move tool or something, even though it clearly has the brush tool selected.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to finish some artwork, and I seem to have run into a problem. I duplicated a layer--filled with white--and locked the transparent pixels in the duplicated layer. When I try to color over it, there are some white pixels showing about the edges. Inexplicably, these white pixels don't even seem to be in the layer that I'm trying to color at all--but the original layer underneath. When I hide the original layer, the white pixels disappear. What's going on?

View 7 Replies View RelatedTrying to edit pictures in photoshop. First time using it on my new computer Dell Inspiron and the error message is "could not use the blur tool because the current time is outside the range for the target layer"
What does this mean? What do I do?
When I open a transparent .gif file, the layer which contains the item I want is totally locked out and it won't let me move/duplicate/do anything to it. Is there anyway I can unlock it so I can move the layer into other work I'm doing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I open a photo in the editor, the background layer is locked with a transparent pixels locked lock, instead of the all pixels locked lock. How do I change it back to the default?
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn Photoshop CS6 why can't I unlock the background layer in a 32 bit image as you used to in CS5?
I only seam to find answers as "change it to 16 bit" but that's not a solution. In previous versions of Photoshop you were able to composite images in 32 bit.
How to select a locked layer when you have too many layers overlapping?
I know I can select all the layers, lock them and unlock them. But I can't lock/unlock all layers when some layers are hidden. I'll have to dig in to unhide those layers. But then I don't want to unhide all layers, because it will make changes to my design that I wouldn't know.
Is there a smart way to find/select the lock layer?
I recently purchased elements 12. When using layers, I noticed the background layer was only partially locked and not fully locked as I was assuming it should be. I couldn't find anywhere that I could change this.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHow to get the classic layour manger to use the ACA layer manager tools?
In 2008 before the floating layer manager the manager looked as the Classic version does now in AutoCAD ACA 2012 with the tool of "new layer from standard". This tool now only seems to be in the floating layer manager and when I switch to Classic manager the "new layer from standard" is removed from the dialog box.
I want to use the classic dialog but have access to the "new layer from standard" tool
all my images are locked. cant unlock them. all choices are dimmed.
View 1 Replies View Related1. I try to use any auto correction such as tone, and nothing appears to change
2. I see the small layers 'background' icon flashing as I do this into the black and white check pattern
3. It seems that the layer background is partially locked- (when I scroll my mouse over the 'lock' icon this is written)
Yet there is no icon above in 'lock' that is highlighted. So I cannot unlock it.I am able to adjust in all other methods which are not auto corrections. Perhaps I changed some settings accidentally?
Trying to create my first animated gif. I have 8 .ico files that i converted to .png to open them. once all are open i try to combine into one file with 8 layers but am unable to do it!?!? If I click on the main layer in any file it shows as locked and says "Indicates layer is partially locked".
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have created several feature lines from which I graded to distance or surface. I am trying to edit all these feature lines raising them by 0.5 ft. In a few instances, I need to keep some of the elevs while raising others by 0.5 ft. I am changing the elevation of individual vertices.
Some of the features lines all me to change all the elevations. But on a few of the feature lines, I can change all the elevations except for one. The feature line station for which I cannot change the elevation has a white triangle in front of it in the Elevation Editor instead of a Green Triangle like most of the points. It's clear that the White Triangle means something that is not allowing me to edit the elevation of that feature line vertex, but I'm not sure what or how to fix it so I can edit it like the others.
Also, the Raise Incrementally icon does not work on these points with a White Triangle in front of them / does not change the elevation of them.
I isolated layers to clear out a drawing, since then I have had nothing but hassle with locked layers, No matter how many times I unlock them, they lock up again, if I create a new layer it comes in locked, if I change a line to a differant layer it locks up, I have tried creating a few simple layers, then copying and pasting the layout into a new drg file, still the problem exists, it is costing me a lot of time having to keep doing this.
View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen I create a shape in Photoshop CS6, it brings up a nice panel of options - allowing me to change radius, stroke style, colour etc. However, once this shape has been placed in the Photoshop document, I am not able to edit it, without creating a new shape.
I cannot change any of the options. Sure, I can select it and change the size - but how would I change the shape stroke colour and style, as well as the radius of the curves?Is there an option or panel which I need to activate to get back to this menu for the current shape?
Here the shape options are visibleHowever, once I click off the shape - they dissapear and I can no longer get them back.
How would I get the shape options back for this shape, without creating a new layer and shape?As with the way it is now, I have to get things like the stroke colour and radius right the first time - and I like to experiment with my options.
how i edit them at the same time like it works with linking 2 layers?
or how i apply one layer style to multiple layers is also ok...
I am trying to assign objects (only in UNLOCKED layers) with a new layer.So basically, the user will select all the objects in the drawing.
After selecting (ex. press enter after window selecting), only objects in UNLOCKED layers will have a new layer.
Following is the code I am using...But I keep getting eOnLockedLayer exception.How should I handle this issue?
using (Transaction acTrans = acCurDb.TransactionManager.StartTransaction())
{
PromptSelectionOptions pSelOpts = new PromptSelectionOptions();
pSelOpts.MessageForAdding = "Select all objects";
PromptSelectionResult pSelRes = acDoc.Editor.GetSelection(pSelOpts);
if (pSelRes.Status == PromptStatus.OK)
