Oct 4, 2005i have a folder with 200+ images, 2mb each. i need to lower the resolution of each of them for a project. i'm sure there's a way to do it simply, but i don't know what it is.

Photoshop :: Way To Reduce Resolution?
Sep 28, 2008I have about 200 hi-res photos that need to be changed to lo-res photos, i.e., from 300 dpi to 72 dpi. Nothing else needs to be changed. The image dimensions will remain the same, although the file size, of course, will be smaller.
I have PS CS3 and Bridge. Of the various ways to do this, which is most efficient? And since I will be doing more of this in the future, should I be thinking about Lightroom?

Jul 13, 2013What is the best way to reduce an image's file size (say by 50%) so that someone with limited RAM can work on the file and then when they are done restore the file back to its 100% size for final output--without sacrificing resolution or pixels. File is a layered psd and will eventually be going to print.

the default setting is 1920 - far too low for me
ok it can be supressed on a session basis, but the number of clicks to acheive anything keeps creeping up and I'd rather not see it at all - AFAIK there is no way to suppress it permanently, but the default setting can be increased in the registry
I have my setting at 8000
the registry key is 'ImportSize' in Options > Filters [ verified in designer pro X]
changing registry settings is only for those who know what they are doing and who backup first

I am familiar with batch jobs in Photoshop.
I have images that vary in pixel size and resolution.
This project is for an online gift registry. First, we are hosting the images, but they have restraints due their web/system programming. So what I was told by the company was they need the images to be 300 x 300 pixel images at 72dpi. They said they would settle for 300 width only and let me scale the proportions and not worry about the height as I want to batch the process. But they stressed 300 width and 72dpi.
What I have tried is batch resizing all of them to 300 pixel width, worked fine. Then I batched changing the resolution to 72. But it changed all the pixel dimensions to various sizes. So then I tried to batch 300 pixel width and 72 resolution at one time at it ends up the same way. So what do I need to do to get 300 x 300 pixel and 72dpi?
1)I have read plenty of PPI vs DPI. Is "resolution" in Photoshop, PPI?
2)Was what they probably meant by 72dpi actually 72ppi?
3)How do I accomplish this?

Feb 19, 2008In my work I use a batch process to run an action that converts EPS files to TIFF files. I have been using this successfully in Photoshop 7 on a Win2000 PC for a number of years. The process is as follows...
Open EPS file
Flatten Image
Save
Close
When I recorded the action I made sure that the resolution was set to 300dpi as we require the TIFF produced at the end to be that resolution.
I am now testing PSCS3 on a WinXP machine as we are upgrading all of our equipment. When I run the action as a batch process the TIFFs that are saved end up being 72dpi - They should be 300dpi. This worked in PS7 on the Win2000 machine and I am using exactly the same process in PSCS3 on the new WinXP machine, but something must be going wrong somewhere for the TIFFs to be saved at 72dpi instead of the required 300dpi. Any ideas?

Apr 26, 2013When batch processing actions in Illustrator, it will not allow me to change the Transparency Resoluition and I have over 1,000 eps files to process. You can only select from the dropdown by doing it manually. The "default" or preset is Medium. I need high res.
This is what I need to do to 1,000+ eps files.
1. EPS file is open in Adobe Illustrator CS6 on Windows.
2. File > Save As> filename.eps > Desktop
3. EPS Options > Transparency > Preset: [High Resolution]
4. OK
When you automate this through batch processing an action, you cannot select [High Resolution]. [Medium Resolution] is selected as default. I need for all my files to be [High Resolution].
My printer software will not read the cutlines on any other file formats so they must be High Res EPS files.
Photoshop :: Making Low Resolution Image Look Higher Resolution For Print
Mar 17, 2013I realize the nature of my question maybe asking the impossible, but I have a low res image I downloaded from the internet, placed in an InDesign page, blew it up and printed it out. I was going for the distressed look that it has, it looks ok when I print it out considering it's low res and I blew it up fairly large. However, it's a little too pixelated to look professional when printed. Are they any tricks or things I can do to make it look higher res for print. I've attached the image as well as a screenshot of the InDesign file so you can see it in context.

Photoshop :: Batch Color Correction And Batch Levels Oddities
Apr 12, 2012So I have an action that I've been using for the past couple years (?) now that involves opening an image, applying an auto color and auto levels, saving and closing. This has been working for me since probably a couple years ago when I made the action. Yesterday, I was working on a scanning project where I have groups of images in separate folders. I ran the action on the first 2 folders which went fine.
When I got to the 3rd folder all the way up to the last one, PS just loads all the images, does the levels and color then fails to save/close them when done. On one of my folders, it gets through a few of them when it drops the ball and just opens all of them. I'm not sure what's going on as there's no real explanation as to why this is happening.. especially when I've been using this action (and I even made a new action with still no luck). Last week I had about 300 images I had to work with and PS decided to pull this move on me after doing the first 30 of them fine...which is when I first noticed this happening.
To further add, I set my action to show everything step by step and it seems to happen with select images (in some cases, these select images are entirely what is in the folder). With the select images, it is not doing the actions entirely in order. Typically it does it in this manner:
1-Levels
2-Levels
3-Save
4-Close
What I'm now experiencing is this:
2-Levels
1-Levels
(Skips 3 and 4 since it is starting at 2 and working upward).
Photoshop :: Reduce Glare?
Aug 8, 2004trying to reduce the amount of glare in this picture of my car. The picture will be used in a calendar so I need it to look professional. I tried getting rid of the glare spots by using the healing brush, smudge, and blur tools, but I'm clueless when it comes to the white spots. Each painting had a spotlight mounted above it and as you can see from the attached picture, the light glare is strong at the top of the painting (washing out the color and details) and the glare extends about halfway down the photo. Oct 28, 2012Myself and the fiance were at a wedding last night. Just managed to get a picture with the woman on the right whom we haven't seen in ages. Unfortunately, iPhone's don't take pictures very well without proper lighting with its built in flash..
How to reduce the exposure on this picture, fix red eye, maybe whiten teeth (are they really that dull grey ) and possibly take that blurry guy out from the background.
The only important fix would be to reduce the exposure . All my "Auto-Fix" edit programs cause a bad glare and the picture loses color.
