View 6 RepliesThe modal dialogue for Black and White has the "Colorize" option and for that "Hue" and "Saturation" sliders.
But Black and White as an adjustment layer in the adjustments palette does NOT offer the Saturation slider. At least not in my CS4 Extended on Win XP. There is the targeted adjustment tool (TAT), but it changes color, not saturation.
I am looking to change a color logo to bw. I wanted to use the black and white adjustment layer but the option is greyed out. Is there a step I am missing? The file is cmyk and is 8bit. I am using PS CS6. What do I need to do to make this option available?
View 3 Replies View RelatedThere is a photo I've downloaded from the Internet that is by a photographer who shoots in Black & White. However, when I print out the photo it comes out sepia. I tried adding a Black & White Adjustment layer, but when I go to click on the button in the adjustment palette it's grayed out. I've tried this on other photos of the photographer and does it fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a multilayered psd file. All layers should remain opaque except the black to white gradient layer where I need the white to be transparent. So that when I place the final psd on top of a block of solid colour in Indesign the gradient shows the background colour through where the black fades off.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm using PSE8. I was using Filter>Render>Clouds and it was working for me. I must have done something because the clouds that are rendered are black & white not Blue and white. My photo is of course a color image. How I can correct this or what I need to do to get back to the default setting that will render blue & white instead of black and white?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm a Creative Cloud subscriber, using Mac OS 10.8.1. For some reason, when I open a raw image in ACR, the adjustment screen displays a black backgrond. Black text on a black background. The slider bars show up, but I can't read the labels, and have to go from memory. I uninstalled and then re-installed Photoshop CS6, tried to find where ACR;s prefs are located so I can try trashing them and so forth - all to no avail.

But when the mask is a part of an ADJUSTMENT LAYER, it always comes in "white." How do I make the adjustment layer mask "black"? Alt-clicking on the mask simply turns the entire image screen white.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to draw parts in 3d view which look very basic, i.e. out of a book.
Example:
white block with black lines so you can see it is 3d.background should also be white.
How do i set autocad (2012/2013) to do this. I would like the model space to be the same and not just for printing.
this worked until yesterday. I didn't install any software on the pc or change any settings that I can think of. I'm using photoshop cs2. I've rebooted the computer several times and I've quit/restarted photoshop several times.
when I create an adjustment layer, I cannot paint black in the mask area. I can fill with black and paint white. if, after filling black and painting white, I press D (to swap foreground/background colors), I can paint, a paintbrush thing shows up in the history, but it won't change. if I press D again, and paint some more white, it shows up in white. likewise, if I choose black another way (eyedropper, setting rgb to 0,0,0), it behaves the same. likewise, if I don't start out by filling black, and I just try to paint black on the white mask, it behaves the same (doesn't work).
if I create a new layer, I can paint black on it. If I switch to the pencil tool rather than the brush tool, I can pencil black into my adjustment layer masks.
any suggestions?
or what info can I get for you so you have a good place to start?

Basically a CAD program I use only exports PNG files. The CAD program can export in black and white and in color. The color PNG files open fine in CorelDraw. The black and white PNG files just show up as a black filled box.
I attached an example PNG file. Example PNG
I have an image where i chopped seperate parts of different pictures, desaturated all 4, but on the one, there seems to be more "grays" in the black and white photo... i want the grays to be more black. Messing with the brightness and contrast isnt doing it...
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm having an ongoing issue with Lightroom 4.4 when using adjustment brushes in the development module with RAW files from a Canon 5d Mark III Raw on a retina MacBook Pro running OS 10.8.3 When using the adjustment brush to make exposure adjustments, the adjusted area gets covered with tiny black speckles. I see it when trying to darken down highlights or when trying to lighten shadow areas. The heavier the adjustment, the worse the speckles get. I have taken the same original images and opened them in Photoshop and made similar local adjustments with curves and the images look fine, so it's definitely an error with Lightroom inserting the artifacts.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWhen using the adjustments brush to locally increase exposure(for example) it seems that not all pixels are covered. In the red display of the selected zone you can see black spots all over the zone that are not selected even after repeated use of the adjustment brush. The result looks like heavy noise and is pretty bad. I must say it gives the impression that it happens with "low light" pictures only!? Windows/XP3, Lightroom2.2
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded a trial version of Lightroom 5. I want to change the white balance (temp and tint) using local adjustment brush but when I take a new brush, all I can change is
1. Exposure
2. Brightness
3. Contrast
4. Saturation
5. Clarity
6. Sharpness
7. Color
The Temp and Tint buttons that should appear on the top of this tool are not present. As shown below....
Similarly, as per some youtube videos, in the Basic tools, I should get
1. Highlights
2. Shadows
3. Whites
4. Blacks
Instead I get
1. Recovery
2. Fill light
3. Blacks
As shown below.
Why is there such differences in the option? Is this because it is a trial version?
I have been using Lr 5.3 to adjust some RAW images. My Develope pane is now missing the pane for White balance, hue and also the pane for Exposure, Contrast, highlights etc adjustments. I don't know how this happened or how to restore them. I am using iMac.

I can easily change the background color itself, but I can't seem to make the image look as smooth is it does in it's current state.
it dosent look like ordinary black and white, and apparently the models hair was brown, so the effect wasnt created by mearly turning down the saturation and up the brightness. I also know that the effect wasnt created using makeup, it was soley Photoshop, I've seen this type of 'white' before but I cannot work out how it is done.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI want to turn a colored picture into a black and white one, while maintaining some of the quality of the original pic, or in other words: be able to tell what's on the picture.
Ofcourse it's not so hard to remove all the color of a picture, but then it would be a black/white/grey picture, and duotone, which does actually what I want, isn't a great help either, because there's almost no way of telling what the original picture looked like.
Why I wanna do this you ask? Simple, I want to have an easy way to create an operator logo for my mobile phone
