Photoshop :: Joint Two Separate Vector Images Into One Vector Image

Jan 14, 2006

I am making myself a logo in photoshop. I have made all the letters that will be used, but they are all seperate entities as most of you who have used vectors know. I would like to interconnect the letters, as well as an angel I have made to go above the letters. My question is, how can I join two seperate vector images into one vector image. For example, joining a letter E with a letter D. I wonder if theres a way to do this without having to delete part of each image and then re-draw, which is a pain. Sorry if this isn't really clear, but its hard to explain.

Illustrator :: Change JPG File To Vector And Change Black Linework To Red Using CS5?

Jun 28, 2012

Below is a .jpg copy of the Vitruvian Man that I bought on istockphoto.com. I would like to get rid of the gold background and keep the black line work. I would like what was the gold background to be transparent. I would like to convert this .jpg to a vector file using Adobe Illustrator CS5. To do this I assume I somehow use the Live Trace feature but I'm not exactly sure how.

I would then like to be able to select the black linework and change it to red. Does this mean I need to somehow convert the drawing into a collection of indivdual paths and anchor points? When I've used Live Trace before, I had the tolerance set to about 45 and Simple Trace. This indeed got rid of the gold background but gave me no individual paths or points I could select and change the color of. The only thing I could select was the image as a whole, not individual points or paths. It was the entire image within a box. This occurred whether I used the black arrow tool (Selection tool ) or the white arrow tool (Direct selection tool). If no, then how could I change the black linework to red?

Photoshop :: Images Lose Resolution In 3D?

Feb 16, 2012

I have a custom world map for my fantasy series created in Photoshop CS5 (in 2D) that I want to turn into a globe. The image size is 14,400 x 7200 pixels. When I convert the image to a 3D shape, (New Shape From Layer -> Sphere) the resulting 3D image loses so much resolution, that when I view it at actual pixels, I can barely even read any of the text. Everything is extremely blurry. Is there a way to fix this or is it simply a process of converting the image from a 2D object to a 3D object?

Photoshop :: Check To See If Jpg Images Have Been Saved At A Resolution Of 300 Dpi?

Feb 24, 2007

How do I check to see if jpg images have been saved at a resolution of 300 dpi?

What if my original jpg image resolution is less than 300 dpi and I require 300 dpi; Is it possible to resave them to a smaller image size and in doing so increase the dpi?

What if a jpg image says it is ‘.jpg @ 25%RGB’ and I am supposed to save the files in CMYK; What is this ‘Mode’ setting and can it be changed through resaving the jpg somehow, or is it changed to CMYK when you open it in Photoshop and choose CMYK in the'Rasterize Generic PDF Format' window?

I am using XP and Photoshop 7.

Photoshop :: Changing Resolution Of Images For Printing

Mar 15, 2008

I have just started producing photo books, and I am very pleased with the results. But then I realised that I should have changed the resolution of the images I sent to the printing company from 72 dpi to 300 dpi. I have just sent another book with all the images changed to 300dpi which should be good. But ..... I didn't do anything with the "resampling" tick box - I just left it ticked (mainly cos I didn't understand it). Should I have unchecked the "resampling" tick box?

Photoshop :: Vector Art Images

Oct 17, 2012

I have two vector art images that need to be composited in a simple After Effects comp. One is a backround plate and the other is a vector of a person. The person slide in and the backround will go out of focus with text on top.

I did a mock up and the backround plate looks flat as it should. The backround plate is complicated but it does not any texture to it, all solid colors. I am looking for any tricks that can be done in Photoshop to give it a bit more dimension. I know their are alot of extrusion and 3D filters in Photoshop but I that experienced working with vector art.

Been searching tutorials but I probably am not searching the right things. I would like to give this backround plate some pop.

Photoshop :: Change Resolution Of Image

Aug 21, 2008

I'm using CS3 and I'm putting together a small magazine. The printer who will be doing the printing insists that all images are 300 dpi, however, some of the images people have sent me to insert in the magazine are only 120 dpi. If I manually change it to 300 dpi in the Image Size dialogue box in Photoshop, does it actually increase the resolution? I was of the opinion that the original image has to be 300dpi and that it wasn't possible to alter it, but now I'm not sure.

Photoshop :: Web-safe Format For High Resolution Images?

Oct 19, 2012

I'm having a high resolution image (above 100 dpi) changing it's color settings after submitted to the web.

The image looks fine on the Desktop - and if saved using "Save for web..." dialogue the colors remains as deserved on the web as well.

Is there a way to save an image so the color preferences aren't distorted after publishing to the web, but without reducing to 72 dpi?

I use Photoshop CS4 and I shoot and edit my pictures in Adobe RGB 1998.

P.S. If I open Adobe RGB psd file and assign color profile to sRGB it changes to how my non-web-safe images look when uploaded to the web.

Photoshop :: Should One Change The Resolution Of The Preview Photo?

Jul 28, 2009

I use PS 7 and learning fast.

The default resolution when I open a photo, is set on 72 pixels per inch. This produces a photo with not a lot of detail and my previews are not the same as the end result. I have read somewhere that it is better to work on 300 dpi. Is this correct?

And if so, how do I change the default setting?

Or should one always work on 72 and occasionally change to 200-300 dpi?

Or do most of you work on the 72 dpi- it is just that the image that you see in preview, does not look the same once finished.

Photoshop :: Vector Images Not Sizing Proportionally

Jan 30, 2013

I use a Mac version 10.6.8 and Photoshop CS6.

When I copy and paste a vector image from Illustrator, the vector image is not be sized at 100%x 100%. It comes in at weird sizes like 100% x 98.33% (this is not consistent, it changes numbers). I have to go into the top to manually change it to 100%x100% while in Transform mode.

Also, after I change it to 100%x100% and try to scale by holding shift down, it will change again. I'm not sure what's happening.

Photoshop :: Detailed Vector Images From A Photo?

Dec 21, 2007

I have an image of 4 greyhounds, and i want to vectorize them in high detail so i can use it within a logo for a web project. The image is: http://www.valkama.org/blog/uploaded...ama-739767.jpg

I have been using photoshop for a good year or 2 and have used the vector tools to create a number of vector images but nothing as detailed as this.

If someone could answer the questions below and maybe offer some personal advice that would be great:

1 - Would it be better to use a package designed for vectoring rather then using photoshop. I heard from a few people that Photoshop isn't the best tool for the job.

2 - How long would something like this take? A few hours? A day? Like i said i havn't done anything like this before even though i worked as a graphic designer for 8 months.

3 - Where would i start? Im thinking start with the dogs bodies, them move onto the coats (the coat with the number on it) etc etc, leaving the fine detail till last.
