Photoshop :: Various Patterns

Aug 1, 2003

there are different patterns all over this graphic. And on the bottom, there are the cubes, and they sort of dissapear towards the left of the image. Is this done using the selection tool to select exactly where the patterns would go?

Photoshop :: Filling With Patterns

Aug 3, 2006

I created a pattern of concrete block coursing that I want to apply to a picture of the side of a building. The pattern is clipped so that it will repeat appropriately when filled into a large area. The problem is that depending on where I fill in the canvas, the pattern never fills in with the same start point. I want it to always start at the bottom left corner of the pattern (which is the bottom left corner of a block). Is there a way to set the point that a pattern moves out from? Also, does the pattern radiate from its center point or one of the corners?

In Autocad there is a snapbase command that lets you choose the start point for a pattern. This is exactly what I'm looking for in photoshop.

Photoshop :: Painting With Patterns

May 22, 2005

I'm trying to paint with a pattern I created but I'm having trouble doing so. I'm trying to follow the instructions in the photoshop manual but it almost seems as though they missed something (but it's probably me who's missing something). To create a pattern, it says to use the rectangle marquee tool to make a selection, setting feather to 0, choose edit -> define pattern, give it a name, and hit OK. So when I do that, nothing seems to happen after I hit OK. If I try to use the paint bucket tool, I still get the same monotonous color. How do I actually use the pattern I just created with the paint bucket tool?

Photoshop :: How To Load Multiple Patterns

Aug 1, 2013

I am operating with CS5 and Windows 8.

I am unsuccessful with clicking and draging .PAT files from my presets folder in Windows Explorer into and/or around the Preset Manager window in CS5.  When I click and drag, my cursor symbol makes it look like it will work but nothing happens- no .pat files are loaded in.

So, far all I can do is load one pattern at a time.

Is it possible to move/load multiple .pat files at one time?

Photoshop :: How To Delete Repeated Patterns

Mar 8, 2013

I have accidentally loaded some patterns more than once and so they are repeated in the list (which is more annoying than anything at this point).

I have checked the manual and it just says to go to any Pattern pop-up menu and to then select the pattern and hold the Alt key and click (pointer turns into scissors) and the pattern will be deleted.

I don't want to delete the patterns by going to program program files > adobe > presets ... or what have ya b/c I do want one copy.

Is there a way to clear them all from the list and then I can reload/import the patterns again?

I have tried to get rid of the duplicates in the list by using the Preset Manager, the Import/Export panel and by (of course) the (above) Alt + Click on the pattern name to no avail. All in all I would just like to keep my patterns organized so as the collection grows I'll be able to manage them better and find 'em more quickly.

Photoshop :: Simple Halftone Patterns In CS5

Jul 10, 2013

I'm using Photoshop CS5 on Mac OS X. Last year I created an artwork including colour half tones, but also some other simple halftone filter that I applied to layers of solid colour (see attached image - you may need to view it at 100% to see what I mean)

It's a simple half tone pattern of white vs 1xcolour using either circles or squares. I remember that this was applied simply, not any special process as I didn't go out of my way to create this effect I just stumbled upon it. I can't for the life of me remember how to do it again.

Photoshop :: Brush Patterns Are Disappeared

Feb 1, 2013

The custom pattens I have saved with my brushes just disappeared, I tried reloading my brushes and that didn't do anything, I opened the pattern and redefined it, as long as I have it selected as the texture I want to use it's fine but as soon as I choose another texture and then go back to a different brush with a different pattern saved to it, the other ( not the one saved to the brush) texture shows up in the brush.

I have saved my brushes and have kept them on a flash drive with the pattens saved to them, they work on my classroom computers and have for years everywhere I have used them. This just happened this week and I can't seem to fix it. I updated my PS6 and it worked for a day  but when I restarted PS it did the same thing.

Photoshop :: Simple Background Patterns

Jan 28, 2005

I've been toying around with all kinds of different backgrounds for my webpages and have been trying to find something fun, simple, and kinda professional looking. I'm looking for really simple patterns like this. I really loved different variations I made of this design, but I kinda feel like it will get old after a while if I just keep changing the color of this same pattern over and over.

I'm wondering if any of you guys can recommend some other simple patterns I can make in ps. I saw some pages that had cool looking grid designs, when I tried to do it though, it didn't come out to well. The background made my site look like a homepage from 97'.
