Photoshop :: Colour Replacement Advice

Aug 10, 2009

I'm planning to do some giclee prints involving scans of original watercolour paintings of botanical subjects. Because of the nature of the subject, 90% of the content of the image is actually the original art paper with nothing on it.

The 'nothing' still has a colour  of course (creamy off-white), and when I print on to a similarly-coloured fine art inkjet paper I get a darker background than the original because I'm effectively finishing up with two lots of background. Is there a way I can make the background a lighter shade that doesn't involve use of one of the selection tools?

Photoshop :: Copyright Advice On Colourised Images

Mar 14, 2004

I posted a copyright notice on my webpage asking people specifically not to abuse the copyright of my colourised images. These images are mainly 1900-1950's actresses, you know the sort of thing, Lillian Gish - Liz Taylor. Anyway, someone on the Louise Brooks forum said a friend had questioned my right to colourise these images in the first place, then claim copyright on what I had done. Now I don't want to be in the wrong, not to mention claim what I don't have a right to. Can someone "briefly" advise here. All I am saying, basically, is please do not use my work on your webpage, without asking.

If I have no right to ownership, should I remove my newly uploaded website and images? There are so many others on the net that I feel the "original" owners accept that's how it is. After all, I have never in 8 years of being online heard of any complaints, not to mention prosecutions.

I'm looking to build a new system (X48 motherboard, Q9450 quad core proc, 8GB ECC RAM, Vista64). I'd like to run with only 2 drives to keep the system relatively quiet but realize that a 3 drive config would be better for Photoshop performance. I do some photo editing and Web work with Photoshop so I'm not working with very large files but I do tend to have a lot of files and apps open at the same time.
