Photoshop :: CS6 Work Windows Too Tall For Monitor Display
Oct 28, 2013On a MacBook Pro 15-inch retina display running OS 10.8.3, in Photoshop CS6: after launching PS, the work window is too tall for the monitor display. The bottom is cut off: there are no bottom scroll bars or nor any of the page info, I can't grab the resizing corner to change window dimensions. Also, I can't change from Standard Screen Mode: neither the left tool bar nor the F key has any effect. I've quit and restarted both the PS app and entire computer but problem persists.

Apr 16, 2008I have have several scans that were saved as compressed TIFF that used to be roughly the shape of a letter-size piece of paper. Now when I open them, they're displaying squashed, tall and narrow. Other scans made in the same group, at the same time, saved the same way, don't show this. The ones that are not squashed say "(Gray/8)" in the title bar. The ones that are squashed say "(Gray/8) [scaled]" in the title bar. The preview in the Open dialog shows the correct shape.
I've never seen this before. Is this "scaling" something I can turn off?
Photoshop :: Application Frame Window Opening Too Tall - How To Resize
Jul 3, 2012The Application Frame window opens up too tall on both my monitors. I cannot resize it nor access any of the tools at the bottom. Is there any other way to resize it except by grabbing it with the cursor and dragging the edge, since obviously I cannot do that when it sits offscreen?

Nov 4, 2013I was working on an image, it was quite big, 7000 px wide, 6000 tall but only 5 quite simple layers, the .xcf is 7.8MB.
All of a sudden after pasting from another .xcf file (which I had just10+ times with no similar result) I moved the pasted part, the image was pretty much finished and I went up to click file>export and everything between "open recent" and "quit" in the file menu was grey.No chance to save or export and it appears half an hour of work lost.It was as if the file menu didn't think I had a file open, but if I scrolled across to the filters menu for example, they were available for selection which they are not when you have no image open. I could edit the image and change layer visibilities and do what I wanted to the image - except save it. I had flash backs to darker days of shareware version of lesser softer titles on proprietary systems. In a moment of frustration I hit the little "x" to resign for the night and it warned me to save before closing.. I hit save as the only option was to overwrite a file I didn't really want to overwrite but I did and then wrote this.
It's 2.8.6 running on an up to date ubuntu 13.10 on a high end PC.
Illustrator :: Save For Web As PNG With Clip To Artboard Selected - Tiny (one Pixel Tall)
Feb 25, 2013I'm having some issues with my file when trying to Save For Web. A band of transparency appears above my image even though I have everything cropped to the artboard, and the artboard is exactly the size I want the final image to be. If I uncheck "Clip to Artboard" the band of transparency disappears from the top, but reappears on the right side. It seems as if the artboard area is calculated differently in the Save For Web screen; its slightly off. I've included some images so you can see the issue.
Trying to save for web as a .png with "Clip To Artboard" selected; a tiny (one pixel tall?) band of transparency on the top of the image.
Trying to save for web as a .png without "Clip To Artboard" selected; the image seems to shift and the band of transparency appears on the right size. Also some of the pieces of the image appear on the bottom outside of the artboard.
I made sure to crop each element of my image to fit exactly on the artboard. Previously, I had made sure to use a clipping mask exactly the size of the artboard and still had these issues. I would like my .png to not have a band of transparency. It has the same issue when I change it to .jpg, but instead has a white matte band. What am I doing wrong, or is this just an issue with Illustrator?

Jun 7, 2007The people I'm working for wanted a (huge) banner for their website. So far their site actually has fairly decent look. It's very clean and has moderately saturated blues with white text. So this is what I made this for them.
However they wanted me to adjust it, and it ended up looking like this. Is it just me or is the newer design very tacky? I didn't like the hugeness of the first one, and they ended up wanting it even bigger...
I haven't suggested going back to the old one yet because I'm waiting to hear what other people think.
It's just getting frustrating because their instructions through this whole thing have been incoherent. And it ends up in me having to remake something... and the updated version usually looks worse. It's almost like they don't like my designs because they didn't come up with them.

I did one but it took 7 hours cause I made the banner then painstakingly added the animation(simple 8 frame gif)frame by frame after wards.

Apr 13, 2004I'm trying to create a simple header for a website which starts off at one edge of the page with a straight line and then curves over as it reaches the other end. I want to then fill it with a gradient.

Jun 8, 2011I created a design for my fraternity's new rush banner we need to have made. It's going to be 10ft x 8ft. I originally sent the design scalled down to 1000pixels x 800 pixels. The gentleman working with us replied that I must send him the image scaled down at 350 dpi or in real size at 72dpi. After changing the resolution to 350 pixels per inch (I'm assuming that means dpi), I tried scaling it up just to make sure everything looked correct. *The problem is though that when scaled up to 120in X 96in, the text as well as edges of the colors have a haze around them. Will this come out when printed?
