I bought Design & Web premium (NL), and I have a question about the spacing between characters in Photoshop. To show it's not a font-problem i used Verdana, Arial and now Tahoma, all with the same problems........I checked, all the text spacing is 0.
When I make the content bar in photoshop for a website, I always spend like 10 minutes making the spacing exactly even for the different text layers. Is there some feature in ps that will put even spacing between the text layers?
how I try to slice it, PS always create these blank "spacers" image on the right side and bottom of my site template.
Anyone know of a way so that PS won't create them after I save it? even though those spacer don't use up much space, it just clog the html code with all these <TD> and img scr=spacer.gif code.
I'm not sure if it's just me but is Photoshop supposed to have so much space between the characters in text? I've added a screen snippet of what I'm seeing on my computer with it's current settings. I'm not sure if I have something set wrong or not. This is a minor thing but it annoys the heck out of me knowing I don't have complete control over the spacing of characters.
1. When I use a low opacity to gradually build up highlights in a drawing the opacity seems to skip a few strokes: Nothing is actually happening after a fes brush strokes and then suddenly there's a bright line, nothing inbetween. It looks like i was drawing with 50% opacity even though it was actually 5%. All other option such as pressure sensitivity are turend off.
2. When drawing a straight line with the brushtool, and then zooming in, I can see the individual spots that make up the brushstroke. It looks like brushspacing was on even though it wasn't.
I use cs6 on a windows 7 platform and have a wacom intuos 4.
Can I disable brush "spacing" for all brushes, and save the settings?
(For those that don't know: Brush spacing is set to 25% by default for all brushes. Brush spacing makes the brush jump 25% of its size as you move the mouse, no matter how fast or how slow. This is great if you want evenly spaced brush "clicks" to be simulated. However, I want pixel-perfect accuracy with larger brushes, i.e., I don't want the brush to jump by this spacing, so I need to disable this!)
I im new to photoshop, im trying to do some uni work on it and i want to add txt, but i need it to be double line spaced, and i have no idea how to do this on here, or even if its possible. If you know please help!! im not very good at technical things so if u try to explain please be clear and basic.
How can I make the space between lines like the pic I attached, space them so its 5 or 6 pixels apart? It looks really bad doing it freehand,is there a way to just set the space so it looks even? And how can I add colours to the empty space? Must I use white background instead of transparent?
Final question, how can I do those grey boxes like those on URL banner. And those lines that fade out plus how can I sort of make the lines "pop-up" or have that 3d effect, sort of like emboss I guess.
how most designers on here go about spacing their buttons in your regular horizontal nav display.
Usually, I will make a selection around the entire nav bar and then use "Distribute Horizontal Centers" to center each button or text layer. Of course, this distributes by the center of each text button.
way to make the spacing the same in between each button.

When applying Text when I hit enter to add a new line the spacing between lines is WAY too much where do I find how to set the line spacing. otherwise I have been creating new layers for each line which gets messy.
When I (as I have in Photoshop CS2,3,4,5,5.5 and 6) click in the letting menu and change the letting, it allows me to change it and then when I click enter, it jumps down to a completely different number. I set it to 200 and hit enter and it drop to 19. I change it to 200 again, it becomes 47.
I am runnning the updated version of CC on windows 7 64-bit.
I am creating some comps with months of the year and need to space them out. I could create each month on its own layer and space them with the group tool. Is their another way around this?
I'm using PS CS2. 'How to make a dotted line brush in Photoshop', it describes how to do this. It shows a brush palette that I can only assume is an older version (attachment 'Palette B.pdf'), because it is showing a spacing slider that mine doesn't (attachment 'Palette A.pdf').
I understand there is no built-in way to adjust spacing between letters in Elements, but I would like to do that just for two words, so I am looking for a workaround. I thought it would be possible to copy out a letter, select the arrow tool and then paste it back in as a separate element but that does not seem to work. Is there a way to do this in Elements?
When I write text in a free style I'm unable to adjust the line spacing anymore - it turns out much to big and whatever value I choose it's every time the same !?!When trying text in a box it's all OK, but I seldom use text in a box..I'm using PSE since 11/2012 and the problem occured just now.
PSE doesn't show the user all the text formatting capabilities available in PhotoShop, but this script can alter the tracking (character spacing) of the text on a layer.
Here are the steps to use the script:
Open Notepad.Copy this text and paste it into Notepad:/*<javascriptresource><name>Character Tracking</name><enableinfo>true</enableinfo><menu>automate</menu><about>Adjust the kerning.</about><category>Typography</category></javascriptresource>*/var targettext = app.activeDocument.activeLayer.textItemtargettext.tracking = 30
Use "Save As" with the File Type of "All Files" to save it asCharacter tracking.jsxin the C:Program Files (x86)AdobePhotoshop Elements 10PresetsScriptsdirectory.Keep the .JSX file open in Notepad.Start PSE. You'll have a new menu item: File...Automation Tools...Character Tracking.Create a document in PSE with some text on a text layer. With a text layer selected, run the Character Tracking script. To adjust the tracking, simply switch to Notepad and change the numeric value after the equals sign, save the file and re-run it in PSE. (No need to close and re-open PSE.)
You can use negative values, too -- any number between -1000 and 10000 is OK.
I am currently working on somthing that will require me to make cartoon characters and color them. So far ive drawn them on paper and put them on my computer. My plan was to scan the image to my computer and use it as a template to place vectors over and reshape them.
Any good way to make cartoon characters using photoshop.
I have Photoshop CS and when I try to use the text tool, it does not print out characters but straight lines. So if I type A it is reproduced on the screen as ---- and if I type B it is reproduced as --- and so on.
I am trying to use the "TM" trademark symbol from a font SYMBOL. I do not how to get to the character map in Photoshop like you do in MS word. Is there a way to do that in Photoshop CS2?
how to add color to my drawings with photoshop. iv seen a few tutorials from different websites but they all seem a bit to complicated. they also look real pixelated and tacky when i try to do them.
Using one of my fonts I created lettering that has the middle of each character knocked out so that only the outline shows. The trouble is when I create the jpg for the web the color seems to become runny so it looks like its slightly smudged.
In Publisher, I can split a A3 page in half with columns in each side with the middle spacing of 0.5cm, how do I do that in Photoshop? So when I print it off and fold it, each side is equal,
I am trying to superimpose 2 people together from two separate photos. I have limited knowledge of Photoshop. Would the below steps be the easiest & most effective way of doing this?
-Import both photos as 2 separate layers -Use magic wand tool to split characters up / delete backgrounds -Place characters on a new background layer -Edit the light of the characters & background to match each other -Degrade/enhance all 3 images to match each other -Touch up edges of characters until blended into background.
