Nov 8, 2007i have been using photoshop 7 for years and just got photoshop cs3 yesterday. i noticed that i can no longer select items on a layer by holding down the command key and clicking in the layer like i can in 7. is this shortcut no longer available in cs3? i used it a lot.
i have tried to find the answer to this question myself but haven't been successful.
my photoshop cs3 is used on a mac computer.

Jan 24, 2013I'm using Photoshop CS4 on an old PPC Mac (10.5.8). For some odd reason, I can't make (or find) a way to make a keyboard shortcut to select something other than the default button in a multi-button dialogue box. (i.e. , "Save", "Cancel", "Don't Save"). "Save" is the default, but I have to grab the mouse if I want to select "Don't Save".
"Tab" will work in other apps--but not Photoshop.

Need a shortcut command...
I can select an individual layer by holding CTRL and clicking on an area of the image (which is on a layer) in my document. This will direct me exactly to the layer by highlighting it (under layers). This makes it easy to find an area of the art/and the layer it's on.
I am wondering if there is a similar way to select an image that is inside of a Group? (in CS3)
When using the CTRL and click on image command, it goes directly to the Group folder the image is in (instead of the exact layer it's on). I would like to have a command that will go directly to the layer in a group.
I do know about right clicking on an image area and getting a list of the layers. I do not want this.

Mar 6, 2012I like to use keyboard shortcuts in GIMP to select different tools or to nudge an image, but I frequently click on the layers window, which causes keyboard shortcut commands to then be directed to the layers window. So whenever I click to select a different layer or do anything with layers, afterwards I always have to have to click on the image window again to regain use of my editing keyboard shortcuts.
Because of this, I also often forget that layers window has focus and end up messing up my layers with key-shortcut commands intended for the image window. Is there some change I can make to my workflow or keyboard bindings to avoid this problem?

Feb 9, 2009I am using a Nikon D200 and Photoshop CS3. I am shooting 1 stop plus/minus and merging to HDR. It seems that the highlights are always getting blown out much more than the middle image. The shadows are brought up fairly well, but the entire upper end of the curve seems blown out with loss of contrast. I have been experimenting with different methods during the 32 to 16 bit conversion to correct it but have not been so pleased with the results. I can get the highlights back down, but the upper end is fairly washed out with loss of contrast. It seems like the middle part of the curve is also pushed up a bit which would account for the loss of upper end contrast.

Oct 25, 2013I've been using the HDR merge function over the last few days and happily converted numerous images successfully. However, all of a sudden, pictures from the same photo shoot are being converted incorrectly and the HDR function is causing the highlights to be red and completely blown out. I'm doing nothing different and all the lighting is the same as before. Does my software have a bug?
I've just tried doing the HDR merge on the same files in my old Photoshop CS3 and I don't get the problem. Perhaps there's a bug causing it???
