Oct 18, 2013Can you set a bleed to get rid of the paper margin or do you have to make the image size larger than the size you want and trim once printed?

I included a zip file with some pictures as well as a camera shot of the problem after printing.

I have managed to great a canvas size for A4 paper and managed to put 4 different photos spaced roughly equally around the page. The problem comes when printing, when the page is printed I get a 1cm margin down the left side of the paper every time even though the preview print does not show this 1cm margin.

But on some of the pages I drew on both sides of the page, so when I scanned one side the ink from the other side bleeds through. I'd like to remove those portions but keeping the original lined paper look.
I tried content-aware fill, healing brush, spot healing brush, and more but nothing seems to work quite right. I seem to have the best luck with the patch tool, but for the parts selected close to ink, the replacement patch gets blue ink blur. It's like Photoshop is trying to guess what should go around those edges but all I want is just the plain selected area CS5?
Running Mac os x 10.8.2 and Photoshop CS6. I have an Epson R2880 and so far only used Epson paper. I was able to find all the paper settings but i decided to buy a new German paper.
I downloaded the ICC profile, copied it to /Library/ColorSync/Profiles (and actually any other path that i could find in there). When i open the print dialog i cannot set that paper in either Photoshop or the Epson dialog.
I then removed ALL the ICC files from that path and... surprise. All the profiles are still shown in Photoshop.
Why the paper size won't set to A1.
See attached clip and picture of the printer default setting.
I'm drawing something much larger than the paper so I would like to chose paper size A(8.5x11) set the scale then print it out on A(8.5x11) paper. For example: my desk is approximately 65inch x 30inch and I want to draw and print it on A(8.5x11) paper. I want it to print with the drawing being accurate to scale...how do I do this?

Which output sharpening setting should I use if the client does not know if they want the photos printed on Matte or Glossy paper, and indicated "probably both"? The photos will also be viewed on screen, but prints are the preferred end use.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThe margins don't work and you have to enter all the parameters if you are printing multiple photos.
No matter what margins you enter, the utility ignores them. I need to CENTER a document on both sides of a piece of brochure paper in order to create a personalized greeting card. This program puts the document on the left - turn the page over, and the card does not match. I would have to cut the paper to size and then set up paper sizes for the printer. The other solution would be to make the document letter size and center the card on that. What a waste of time.
I used to get perfect prints on an HP 2600N Laser Printer just by using no color management. Now I don't. Also, if you are printing 2 photographs (or 2 sides of the card) you have to close the program, re-open the program, get the 2nd photograph and reset the margins and the printer specs. What a bother!
I don't know why you just can't put the 'no color management' back into photoshop (unless you are being paid by printing companes not to do so.)
Trying to save pictures in the print mode to my computer in JPEG form to print them at the store and when i save them they are coming out with a border around them....I don't want the border and want the picture to fill the page..i have selected zoom to fil but it still will not let me change the bottom margin of 0.56 down to 0... I have 120 pictures to print as a 5x7 and I want them to fill the page without borders!
View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen I set a margin with the Print module (Lr v3), does it also include the "page bleed" dimension the printer requires for properly printing the bottom of the page?
The problem I'm having is with printing landscape prints and the left & right margins not being equal. I cannot find anything about the page bleed dimensions for my HP B9180 printer and maybe it varies a bit (1mm?) from one B9180 to another(?) In any case, is there a systematic approach for determining the page bleed for a printer? I imagine the only way to accommodate for the asymetry is to account for it in top/bottom margins, correct(?)
I use Paintshop Photo X3 and I am creating a series of dvd and cd labels. I know how to do curved text or text on a curve but I can't work out how to get curved margins. On some of the disc labels I want to keep my text straight but edged left to a curve margin.
View 14 Replies View RelatedI usually make pdf's by plotting each layout to pdf then combining them with adobe acrobat. Recently i have tried the batch plot to pdf and found that i like it much better but im having a problem with it. I have set up my page sheet manager and have imported my plot sheet settings from a different file. I have checked and double checked that the settings on this file is correct.
My problem is that when i create the batch plot and select the page setup when i create the pdf it cut the left and right side of the page off like there are margins or something. I have created a pdf my plotting to pdf on an individual page and printed it and compared to my batch plot and they are the same scale and size on the paper but the batch plot cuts it off on the sides. I need to get it to print like the plot to pdf so that it is to scale.
The four squares all have a 0px top and bottom Push Margin set, which I would have thought would have meant I could have butted them up directly next to each other (but not overlapping).
However you can get them very close but not touching.
Whenever I create a shape, or envelope and add text it, whatever size of font, there is a 0.06-0.063 inch margin created inside the shape. Is this normal? I can not find a way to eliminate this, or change it. When selecting the text, I can change the margins on the ruler, but that only adds to this 0.06 inch margin.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI know I can adjust the view port margin to increase the view clip to show more reference geometry.
But from what I see, if the drawing is a projected view and I set the margin, it changes the margin for ALL the associated views.
This is not a base view or a view that has other views projected off of it, it is a view projected from a base view.
Changing the margin for this view, changes the margin for the base view as well.
Is there a way to change the margin on just the view you want without having to re-create it as a stand alone view?
I am useing a Canon Pro 9000 MKII and when I try to print 11x14 paper, it will not alow custom paper size. The Canon printer driver does have custom size but it does not show up in printer settings.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm using version 7, I'm trying to create a curled paper effect then paste an image on the "paper". A couple of web sites suggested creating a rectangle then create a path or something like that and then using the pen tool and the "handles" manipulate the corners. I'm not sure if I have the terminology correct but the problem is that when I create the rectangle and go to add the path (the icon looks like a circle with handles on it) it's grayed out and can not be selected and manually creating a path with the pen tool doesn't work.

We have several chain guards which we punch from sheet metal. We recently changed our practice to punch a hole pattern in the part rather than weld in a mesh screen - saves shop assembly/fab time. See the attached 2 parts.
My question: Is there an automated way of delelecting all holes within X" of the part edge. Currently we have to go through one by one and it takes a lot of time. how to model this part more efficiently. As you can see, the designer of the new part got lazy and did a rectangular pattern. The goal would be to have a consistent margin around the full perimeter of the part more like the first.
