I have been having problems saving in Photoshop CS6. When I click on the "Save as" button nothing happens, and I can only save as a jpeg if there is only the background layer. If there are any other layers, the save button also does nothing when clicked on. I can exit out and Photoshop will ask if I want to save changes, I can click yes, but that will only save it as a PSD. I have Windows XP service pack 3 on my laptop, running Photoshop CS6 trial right now.
I am facing problem while using Save / Save As / Save for web options in my Photoshop. On clicking Save / Save As commands, my photoshop gets closed abruptly and I am losing all data. If I choose Save for Web option, the file Save dialog box appears and when I click on the 'Save' button, the application gets closed abruptly. Â It was working fine yesterday. My version is bundled in the Technical Communicator suite 3.5 and I faced some problems with Adobe Acrobat, for which my IT team took support from Adobe and got it resolved just two days ago. (Case ID - 184809966)
I use autocad architecture 2013 and it works just fine until the save turns to qsave whenever i want to save a drawing by save, save as and ctrl+s it works as qsave..how can I turn it back to SAVE ?
I am using CS6 (cloud) on Mac 10.6.8 and when I try to save anything (psd, animation, etc) for web I receive "The operation could not be completed." I have uninstalled and reinstalled photoshop, clear my presets, shut down/started up and have tried pretty much everything I can think of.The save for web function still works in CS5 but I have been using CS6 for months and it worked fine yesterday and today it's not working.
I have just lost three days work due to the 'save as' command not working. Adobe, get the simplest basic functions of your software working BEFORE all the fancy bells and whistles
whenever i use the "save as" function in photoshop, expecting the renamed file to show up in the correct lightroom folder, the file seems to either get lost or gets renamed to a numeric "title" which is not what i called it...
I just installed PS CS and went to save a graphic, went to Save for web. Everything works until when I try to save the file, then I get an error message that says:
"This operation could not be completed. file not found." I have the Save for web 8 prefs in the right spot. (I've been doing some searching on this) I don't know which "file" it's referring too.
I loaded my PS onto my Mac OS X today and everything was going smooth until I went to save my image. I click to save for web, but it isnt clickable...it's greyed out.
Do not see that the Save In Background is working. I have 300MB Tiff files that are being saved to the local harddisk in Windows 7 with CS6. It takes about 10 seconds to save the file both with and without Save in the Background being selected.
I just installed the trial version of CS6 and it's working great so far, except for one major problem. I can't use the "save as" function at all, when I click it, it does nothing. No errors messages, just nothing.
My "save as" in CS5 no longer saves as a new, useable file.  It saves it as simply a "file", which cannot then be opened. How to get the "save as" restored?
At work we just put cs6 on a w7 machine running 64 bit which has more than that required mem and or ram to run cs6 - unfortunately I have to use a windows based machine at work (cheapskates). Anyways. I see the 3d menus and the filter menu in PS but they aren't funtional. The filter menu drop down is there but Liquify is the only one that shows up the rest are gray.
The option to choose 3d is also there but they are not functional (grayed out) - I took a look at some online tutorials on using the 3d effect in PS CS6 and Ive gone through it a few times and it still won't work for me. Also, in illustrator when I save for web - when I adjust the pixel dimensions and move the mouse over and click on the image that I am saving for web nothing happens and I'm completely boggled about how to get the image size to change in the save for web pane.
Typically I am used to being able to input the the number into the pixel dimenion field and click on the image and the image resizes (on a mac you can either click on the image or hit return and the image will resize in front of your eyes!). I am unable to get this to work the way I am used to, this happens for me in both ill5 and ill6 on this piece of crap windows machine. Maybe I just need to reinstall? Maybe adobe has changed the way this works? Maybe a sledge hammer into this windows machine would solve all my problems!?
I've cropped/resized/etc and saved the resulting images with no problem. Today I did some simple adjustments to tiff files - perspective & cropping - and when I tried to save the finished file, I received an error message telling me PS couldn't save the image since it was either open or in use by another program. Trust me. Nothing was open. Not even a stray Windows program. I rebooted PC, redid changes, and attempted another save. No luck. I tried different images. I did so several times. Each time, same result. I'm running XP Pro. Haven't used PS is awhile for adjusting images but whenever I simply viewed pix, all was OK.
I have a set of actions i need to run on a couple of hundred jpegs, they simply need a lens correction, auto colour and auto contrast, then need saving as tiffs, all works fine when i record the action, but when i run it on a folder full of jpegs, the tiffs are huge! original jpegs are around 5mb and the tiffs are 30mb, if i apply the save as to a file individually it seems fine (file size around 2mb)
In the save as section i have specified jpeg compression at a quality of 8, but it seems to miss this in the batch process, am i missing something?
I have Photoshop CS5 running on a MacBook OS 10.8 under Parallels/Windows XP. When I try to "Save as", the dialog box does not come up. I have installed the latest update. The other CS5 programs (e.g., Dreamweaver and Fireworks) do not have this problem. Also, when I try to do a "Save for Web and Devices", the dialog box DOES come up, but it is oversized for the window and cannot be resized to make the control buttons accessible.
Here's the error message i keep getting.  Problem signature:  Problem Event Name:         APPCRASH  Application Name:         Photoshop.exe  Application Version:         13.0.1.0  Application Timestamp:         5022da52  Fault Module Name:         Photoshop.exe  Fault Module Version:         13.0.1.0  Fault Module Timestamp:         5022da52  Exception Code:         c0000005  Exception Offset:         00b1a653  OS Version:         6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.48  Locale ID:         1033  Additional Information 1:         0a9e  Additional Information 2:         0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789  Additional Information 3:         0a9e  Additional Information 4:         0a9e372d3b4ad19135b953a78882e789
When I use File/Open everything is greyed out because the Enable field is blank. I can't find any place to set this field permanently to All Readable Documents. Â Secondly, when I use Save As, Photoshop wants to save my image in a .eps format unless I save it as JPEG Stereo.
I am now getting a program error when I try to save some images as jpegs. It seems that only a small percentage of my pics are having this issue, and they are the ones I have taken in the past two days. I can go back into my catalog and run any other pics through PSE and save as a jpeg with no problems. But if I try to do any touch ups on any of the pics from yesterday or the day before, i get the error message. I can even go back into lightroom 4 and export any pics from 3 days ago and have no issues saving them as jpegs. I always get the option to save as a jpeg, it just errors out while trying to save. I'm using a somewhat older laptop w/ vista 64 bit.Â
URL....I am using PSE 12 as a photo editor for Aperture 3.5.1 and the photo is duplicated (as a tiff) in Aperture and PSE editor opens with the image. When I close the file and say to save the file it brings up the save as window.  I tell PSE 12 to "on first save -- save over current file" it now brings up the "save as" window and won't save over the file (changes the file type from .tiff to .tif)
I've created an action that uses the save for web dialogue to optimise images for the web. When I use the batch command to process a full folder of images, even though I have "Override action "save as" command" checked, it ignores this and still uses the location that was used when the action was created. Â Apparently this is a known issue in CS6 and previous versions but whether this has been fixed in Photoshop CC?
I have Photoshop CS6 and Elements Premiere 11 and both were showing estimated file sizes properly up until a couple of weeks ago, and both stopped at the same time. Using Image, Mode I have verified on both that the images I am trying to save are 8 bit and not 16 bit images. I am on Window 7, 64bit.
From the start, I wasn't able to save to jpeg without getting a dcm extension (no jpg extension). However, if I saved to Multi-picture Format, I would get the familiar .jpg and everything worked fine for a while. This morning I cannot find a file format in "save as" that results in the .jpg file extension.
After designing, i try to save the image by clicking save as, but it does not trigger any thing. even if i click save alone. it's still the same thing. Until i try to close the interface, then it will pop-up a dialog message that do i want to save before i close or not, then i click yes but it does not display png, jpeg and the likes as file extension. it only displays psd and some uncommon extensions.
When I first started using CS6 I would edit my photos and when I used "save as" to save my photos then open them in a different photo viewer they would have lost a lot of color and contrast. When I reopened them in CS6 they still had no color. This is all occured on my PC. I used to use PSE 7 (on my PC) and the "save as" function to save them and they turned out fine. I recently got an iMac and when saved on there the same way and reopened in a different viewer they'd have the correct color,
but when opened on my PC the color would be lost again. Also tried opening the images I saved on my PC in CS6 on the iMac and they still had no colo/contrast. So that would mean it's not a monitor calibration thing. I'm trying to figure out how to save my photos so they have the best quality they can have for printing and also the correct color for clients to view on their computers. Â PS: I did use the "save for web" option on my PC and the photos have the correct color that way! But those aren't the proper size and stuff for printing. Also I'm very new to iMac and full photoshop so I'm not sure what sizes/pixels/color modes/etc are normal or what photos are supposed to be.
I'm running Windows XP with Photoshop CS6. Since the "Save" button runs off the edge of my monitor, I can't click Save. I also can't move the dialogue box up far enough to get to it before running out of screen space. I tried just hitting the enter key, but nothing happened. I end up having to do a control-alt-delete to get out of Photoshop altogether.I've never had this problem before when I had CS2 or with the CS6 I have at work.Is there a way around this?
