Photoshop :: Revealing The Covered Eye
Aug 26, 2006I dunno whether there is a filter in the Photoshop that could do this covered-eye-revealing process in one click. Anyway do we have to create the eye?

View 3 RepliesWhen I open this image in Photoshop the alpha channel / transparency hides the colour pixels underneath.

In Photoline I can create a simple layer mask based on alpha (without creating a selection first), and then turn the layer mask off to reveal the "hidden" image. Or I paint with the brush and only affect the alpha.
In Photoshop I cannot seem to access that information. Nor can I paint or erase the transparency only. To me it seems as if Photoshop treats this transparency as something other than an alpha channel. The channel palette only shows the transparency.
how to convert that transparency to a layer mask, and retain the coloured pixel information? How do I access/reveal the "hidden" image?
I am trying to take a color photograph, turn it to black and white, and reveal a flower in color and the rest is still black and white.
I thought I had done this properly when I added a new "adjustment layer, hue/saturation", reduced saturization to zero, and painted the yellow flower over with black to reveal the yellow flower's color while the rest of the photo is still black and white. And it worked..except when I got to the green stem of the flower. Painting over that with black revealed a yellowish-green stem.
I experimented a little more by painting black on the new layer mask and most of the rest of the color photo comes out wrong. The blue sky shows up like a weird smurf blue, faces are oddly peach/orange and most colors look much different than the originial photo. Yellow seems to be not affected, magenta/pink seems to be OK and blue shows up so-so. But the rest of the colors are messed up.
I've been following one of Louis Marcoux's tutorials on youtube where he animates a gradient map inside a material in the cut out or opacity option thus creating a model reveal animation in the viewport.
In that tutorial I noticed that the animation is subject per material. I was wondering if it's possible to apply an opacity (cut out) gradient ramp to multiple materials at once so that different textures and objects on the one big object (e.g. car with different parts) can be revealed together without having to apply a gradient map to each individual material used and animating each one separately?
So the goal would be to find a simple way to apply just the one gradient ramp to the whole car and animating that.
Should I have installed 32 bit photoshop CS5? Recently upgraded my old (32 bit) mac pro to OS 10.7.5 Lion. Then upgraded Lightroom from version 2 to version 3. And finally upgraded from Photoshop CS 3 to CS 5. Why do droplets of Photoshop actions have a NO symbol over them, and are unable to work as a preset in Lightroom?

View 14 Replies View RelatedI really need to achieve this effect of half face covered with a mud mask like in the picture attached below
and it has to be a very realistic effect. But no matter how much i tried i don't manage to get it right .
This will be laughably simple for most readers, but I'm stuck and am at a loss.
I have a portion of my building in max that needs to be covered in metal panels. I'm good with creating a material to represent this. What I cannot find in ANY of materials is how to adjust the material's placement on each face so that I can make sure they align.
Currently the seams "jump" as they turn the corners, rather than wrapping continuously around. Way back when I took classes in this prog at one point we were able to select a specific FACE of a cube and then shift the material around to align the seams correctly (ie: without creating a UVW unwrap).
The "help" system in max acts as if this isn't even possible. Is my only option really to have to unwrap the textures, use photoshop to paint panels, and then reapply? Seriously?
I have a box with text in it. I wish to have hatching in the box, but not have it interfere with the text. Can I make the text an object or a boundary where it will be recognized as an island and not be hatched over?
The attached file (NP-1a.dwg) has text in a box with hatching. I don't want the hatching over the lettering.
I'm using AutoCAD-LT either 2006 or 2009.
when I take my photos into the 'Develop' area, they become covered with red dots like bacteria.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've always layout my floor plans three dimensional with the tools pallets commands such as walls, rails, door, windows & ect. I always have my walls pre-hatched with the solid pattern which is really effective to the floor plan. Normally when I put windows in the wall the window is clearly shown without the hatch in the wall but for some reason my wall's hatch started covering the windows and I can't seem to solve this problem.

Once I use a Clipping Mask on a layer is the entire document covered in a mask?
And/or is all the artwork from then on inside the mask?
I've read about how to add and how to remove art from a mask. I've read about how to make and release and lots of other things.
So, then I went and found a lesson that contained the use of a Clipping Mask.
I am suppose to Select the main shape and "just" copy it and move it down (doesn't say rather to Paste in front or back but I assumed in back ~ not that it has mattered thus far)
However, while making the main shape I used Gradient Mesh and used an Offset to create a "replica" and so when I go to Select the main shape the mesh is selected and so when I Paste (in back ~ seems most logical) and then move it down the details such as the colors of the Gradient and other such things are visible in front ~ ??
So, I have been trying to abate my problem in lots of different ways.
I have tried using the Pen tool to draw behind the main shape, I've tried making a New Layer and placing it above and below and inbetween the main shape layer, I've tried adding the artwork to the Mask ... I've tried everything I can think of and I've been through many an article in the manual and FAQ's to no avail.
I suppose, what I think I need to know ... is, how ... how on earth do I draw behind this main shape? Am I not able to do it because I am not getting behind the Mask?
I've been given the task of rendering an animation of a towerblock covered in RGB leds. Approximately 200 of them. I don't suppose there's a clever way of importing a light-show, rather than dying of old-age fiddling with the curve editor?
The lighting designer is using 'ShowCAD' which is apparently quite popular in the industry..

I started to get this strange error with my Photoshop when making a new document in Photoshop and got the following error: "cannot initiate Photoshop because Photoshop cannot create any more windows".
I thought the easiest thing to do would be to reinstall (Photoshop needs reinstalling extremely often unfortunately), but now when I try and open the program it just give an alert beep and closes back up. Even though I rarely use ImageReady, I opened that up to check and it does the same behavior.
Can anyone tell me what color settings I need to set in photoshop in order to avoid this from happening? It only happens once in a while and I don't know what I've done to fix it or screw it up. What happens is that when I'm in photoshop and I do a "save for web" my document jumps to image ready and when viewing '2 up' for optimization purposes and comparison, I realize that the original view is actually duller in color and does not look like the original in photoshop. The blacks are definitely not as black.
View 1 Replies View Relatedwhen I got my first Macintosh IICX and all of my MacPaint clip art. I don't want to get rid of the clip art because since I'm still using a black ink printer and not upgrading to a color one, the clip art looks nice in newsletters and the like.
Up until this time I had been using SuperPaint which had the New Superbits editing plug-in to refine the pictures so they had the smoother and cleaner lines instead of looking jagged. With my new computer and printer, I'm also getting Photoshop CS packaged with Adobe Creative Suite Premium, which I have never used before. Since I have not received my order yet, I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether Photoshop has the capability of improving the older MacPaint clip art like SuperPaint did with the New SuperBits editing plug-in. Over the past two days, I have been trying like crazy to back-up my pictures with SuperPaint and then re-saving them with Graphic Converter. It's been so incredibly slow that I thought I would go ahead and ask you, the experts, if Photoshop can also improve the quality of my older MacPaint clip art or if I should continue to back-up my clip art like I have been doing.
I have just got back from the Elbow gig and pulled the images off the card. They load up in Bridge but don't have actual picture thumbnails. They are named correctly, ie: IMG_3483.CR2 but they won't open!? Error message says 'Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognise this type of file'
I could see them on the back of the camera.

These are looking like this:

Now the only problem is, that some of them PS just refuse to type. Seven small and seven caps are just wrong. See the line "for PS:"...
I battled the problem even by editing the fonts itsels, because that seems to work with Adobe Illustrator, yet this also cause the edited fonts to be useless in another programs. So I looked deeply and in the Adobe settings in directory Fonts / Reqrd are directory CMaps and perhaps editing the character map used will be better and usable solution? how to do it or even determine with file from the 96 files in the CMaps directory are right now used by Adobe Photoshop?
Everytime I open my CS6, it always show " Could not initialize Photoshop because the preferences file was invalid (it has been deleted)" I reinstalled it but it is still popping out.

the soft edge feature of the eraser and the brush no longer work. I can go into the pallet and choose a soft edge eraser or brush, but it comes up hard edge. When I try to use the marquee box with a feather to get a soft edge, I again get a hard edge. I've used this technique a lot, so I think I'm doing the method properly. I have removed the preference files a number of times and have trashed the old Photoshop and reinstalled Photoshop 3 or 4 times,

View 4 Replies View RelatedA co-worker needs to be able to access certain files that I have created in Photoshop CC. These files are saved as TIFFs, and as part of my workflow, I have just about everything in Groups. She currently has Elements 10 on her system, but that absolutely does not permit access to the Groups and the components within. Because of her job duties, I cannot necessarily justify adding her to the CC account since she does not need PS, AI, ID, or any of the other applications as I do. However, I can easily justify upgrading her to Elements 12...provided it does what we need it to.
