View 9 Replies View RelatedI've a Photoshop droplet with set of actions like:
Â
Open
Fit image
height:180
width:180
Save
as jpeg
quality:11
Close

It does it's work as expected but once the actions are executed on all the images in a folder, I'd like to close the Photoshop as well, which looks tricky in Photoshop droplet. Is there anyway to close Photoshop application at last by action? Or is there any option so that droplet actions will be executed without opening the Photoshop window.
Its running on OS 10.9.1 with all Apple and Adobe updates installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've written a piece of code in C++ to open a part in Inventor and get parameter data from the part from out-of-process. This code works, but occasionally (i.e. randomly) execution of the code will result in an error message being returned from Inventor which indicates a crash of the program. I cannot figure out why, and because the problem occurs randomly I've had difficultly isolating the problem. Here is my code. The error suggests that I might be releasing memory that I don't own or something like that, but since it happens intermittently it is hard to know.

int error;CComBSTR bsPartName;CLSID clsid;FILE *out;HRESULT hres = NOERROR;TCHAR szFileName[255];/* Global Autodesk Inventor pointers */CComPtr<Application> aiApp;CComPtr<Document> aiDoc;/* Get Inventor program ID

I just spent two days automating a large project with Illustrator CS6 actions. I suppose I should have expected Illustrator to crash at some point during this process but I didn't and, of course, it did. Upon starting Illustrator back up after the crash, I found that all dozen or so of my complex actions were gone.
Â
I did a bit of googling and it seems that AI doesn't save these to disk anywhere; rather it just keeps them in memory until they're explicitly saved. That is, creating an action doesn't seem to actually store it anywhere.
How do I re-install a corrupted Photoshop CC app when the Desk Top CC shows the app as "up to date"?

View 7 Replies View Relatedat photoshop cs6 extended downloaded in july, i now get the following message: "some of the application components are missing from the application directory. please reinstall the application."
View 2 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a couple of actions from the web to my actions palette and they worked fine, but then I got greedy and downloaded a few more and that’s when things went south. Now none of the actions work - by not working I mean when I mouse over the Play Selection icon at the bottom of the action palette I get that little circle with a line through it. This happens with the PS default actions as well (I also get the circle on the Stop Playing/Recording and Begin Recording icons).
Somewhere in the following is probably what messed things up.
I downloaded actions to my computer in zip files. Copied them over to the actions folder (or somewhere) and unzipped them. I went back to the actions palette and hit “load actions” and loaded them. On the second set of actions that I downloaded I remember thinking “why am I copying and pasting these files - I bet I should cut and paste them, so I did and that may have been the start of the great crumble of 2004. PhotoShop help says: (under Saving and loading actions) “Actions are automatically saved the the Actions Palette folder in PS7.0 Settings folder. If this file is lost or removed, the actions you created are lost”.
I have searched for the settings folder and couldn’t find it, but the actions still show up on the actions palette - they just don’t run.
I’m a little fuzzy on the details on the above steps. In fact, I probably did something different on each download.
one more thing, I reloaded PhotoShop, but still nothing.
My computer crashed and I removed all apps and reinstalled so now none of my actions appear. However I do have a backup file of all of them and want to reinstall but before when I was using cs6 ( Im assuming same thing as CC as it was all on the subscription plan ) I would click actions then the right arrows and it would bring me a big screen of all the actions ( even the ones that were just preloaded in ps ) and it was a big box with all the actions and some options to record etc...Now that box isn't there and it's just a single column drop down menu.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI like to put my actions somewhere special on my hardrive, not in apps folder.
Now, in past, when I saved actions CS2 would "remember" where this folder was, making real easy to save.
Lately, it keep defaulting to save as in the app folder-- even though I did navigate to my special area on last save as.
Bought CD for photoshop 2 years ago and someone accidently threw out the box. Had to restart my computer but could not initiate photoshop again because I cannot locate the box with the ID on it. There must be a way to activate it without buying a whole new CD
View 5 Replies View Relatedrecovering a file. I have been working in Photoshop for hours, saving often and needed to send a preview to a client.Â
I saved as a pdf (checking the button to not save layers) and then saved as a psd. The file name kept saying .pdf so I saved the file as a .psd again. This did not work and I was still working in a pdf. So, stupidly, I closed the file and opened the .psd and it cam up as a flattened image.Â
I opened the .pdf and it also came up as a flattened image. I have the save recovery option checked and it autosaves every 15 minutes. Is there any way to bring back my file with saved layers?
I've been working on this file for a long time, then I tried to work on it tonight, and Photoshop gave me a message that said "Could not complete your request because the file is empty.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently transferred all my work from a work computer to my mac at home. i am unable to access my work computer until October as we are having a 'break'. However, I have a deadline for September 15th and I need all my files. Some older files open perfectly fine but I fear there was a problem in downloading-perhaps due to my haste to leave and enjoy the beautiful weather! I tried downloading a Remo Repair software but unfortunately this was unable to launch.

Basic notes:
Created on Windows computer cs5
Trying to open on Mac cs5
Sd card used to transfer-couldn't eject, this may be the problem
I was working with a comic illustration, straight 10 hours in a .PSD file without closing it (Of course I saved REALLY often). That includes making path layers in the early process. And when I was painting with those lines generated from paths, I noticed that all of my path layers are gone!! Deleting the paths must be some kind of accidents (like hitting del. key trying to delete contents in the layers, but it deleted some unintentionally selected paths instead. I want a fix to this.) but I can't figure it out how all of them are deleted.
Â
All of my progresses depends on those paths, and that means I will have to repeat the 10 hours all over again.
Â
I have tried many ways to recover it but nothing works:
Â
1. The history state which I was making those paths can't be recovered. It was deleted. If I went to the snapshot state, it's only a raw scanned draft. in other words, the history state is somewhere between snapshot and earliest history state.
2. I tried a file recovery tool. It could dig up temp files but they are all useless since they are made each time I was saving, and I can go back only half an hour with that. This is a case which "saving often" backfires. Also I don't know which file else I should recover.
3. I looked in PSAutoRecover folder and found nothing. I have not been monitoring the folder so I can't tell if auto-saves were made or not, but I am sure auto-save was turned on.
4. There are also temp files in the root of cache drive. I tried copying them into another drive but it said Photoshop is using the file, and they were all gone once I unlocked it with force.
I edited a lot of pictures and saved them somewhere in my external hard drive, but don't know where, i'm afraid i might have overlaid the folder with a previous version of it so, my question is, is there any way to see where you've saved your edited pictures, or, does Photoshop save it in somewhere else besides the folder that you've "save as…"'ed ?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI exported a project as a pdf by clicking Save As under the file menu, then I saved the original psd by choosing Save As again and selecting PSD this time. When I came back to the project today all the layers had been merged into one. I _never_ merged them myself. Is there any way I can recover all that work or have I been hosed by this "feature"?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have two tabs open: the first one the "parent file" and the second one the "smart object" from a layer of the "parent file". I accidentally "unsmart" the object on the "parent file" and close both tabs...

Question: Is there a way to recover a closed smart object in photoshop? In photoshop directory?
Was asked to troubleshoot a Win 7 PS13 (CS6) crash today - first time to my knowledge PS has ever crashed! On restart, no Auto Recover option. All work lost. Did some checking.
Â
Found two folders:
1. On the boot disk, found Usersxxxx.......AutoRecover
2. On the exclusive scratch disk - set on G: - found the folder G:PSAutoRecover (as well as the PS temp file in the root of G:).
Â
Both the AutoRecover folders were empty.Set auto save time to 5 minutes... Rebooted. Restarted PS and created a new file - test01.psd. Saved it. Did some work, didn't save... kept checking... (played games for 15 mins). Checked. Both AutoRecover files remained empty.
Â
Crashed the system (forced shutdown). Auto recover option and the test file was not showing up in the recent files list... opened the original test01 .psd. No work subsequent to the original save showed up. Nor any recovery option. Did some more work on the file... just checked... both the AutoRecover folders are still empty.(Just closed PS and saw that the PS temp file deleted itself. Both the AutoRecovery folders remain - empty.} So, my questions are:
Â
1. Is there a 'Permissions' attribute i need to set? Or...
2. Is the AutoRecover messed up? Or...
3. Is the installation messed up and should i advise a reinstallation?
My .psd (cs5) file crashed. Is there anyway to recover it.
