View 5 RepliesI've installed my new windows CS6, all my .psd files have the 'generic icons' windows give to files they don't recognize. Everything else has normal icons (i.e. Illustrator files) but the Photoshop files are blank. This is true whether I'm on any type of viewer format, i.e. details, thumbnails.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have two art objects on two layers. I want to match to the pixel the two objects that otherwise could be exactly the same but one layered object was imported slightly smaller.
The scale tool has good scale handling, I just want to measure the tool spots to the pixel to gain an exact scale size factor and match sizes.
It blows my mind that somthing this simple isnt all that simple. I used the eyedropper tool to slect a color from another photo, then used the brush while fully magnified to change the color of each pixel.
It was coming out a weird greyish color, and I noticed that if I clicked more than once, it got darker, but so did the pixels directly around the one i was editing. So, i copied both pictures, loaded them into paint, and went to town.
It worked, but then when i copied it back into photoshop, it had a black background (there was no background in the original pictures) around the sprite I was editing. I tried to use the magic wand tool to get rid of it, but it took parts of the sprite with it, so...
Is there any way that I can edit the color of a single pixel (or hell, even a group of pixels if they share the same exact color would be nice...preferred, even) accurately? If not, what program could I use that would keep the transparent background?
Via VBA macro, some way of getting RGB/CMYK color values of a bitmap pixel by pixel?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI managed to remove the background, of an image,(A whit background) and put the image on top of a transparent layer. made a transparent image. When I place this image over a light color background, it looks fine, but when I place it over a dark color background, the edge of the image looks very rough and dirty, I think it's because some of the anti alias from the original image, how can I make it a clean image without going to delete pixel by pixel?
View 2 Replies View Related We are developing an application using functionality of Gimp´s channel mixer with java.
Our problem is that we don’t Know how channel mix works exactly for transforming pixel by pixel in Java.
For example,
We have an image an do on it the next mix:
Output Channel = Red
Red=200.0
Green=0.0
Blue=0.0
For simulate that, we transform all pixels with Red Component *2 and 255 (maximum) if is greater.
Our problem is:
Output Channel = Red
Red=200.0
Green=60.0
Blue=0.0
How can I simulate that?
I'm using Photoshop CS5 and as you can see on the picture below, when I set my grid line to every 1 px, grid doesn't match canvas pixel size.
Now I'm not able to draw sharp shapes using pen tool because even if I hold shift key everything gets blurry.
When I drag around vector points of paths they are not constrained to the pixel grid, when the option "Snap Vector Tools and Transform to Pixel Grid" is off. This is the behavior I expect.BUT: When I drag whole paths, they snap to the pixel grid, no matter what. I even have snapping completely disabled.
This is particularly annoying when eg. creating a path for a zipper. I first make a path for the inside of the jacket or whatever, then I make one notch for the zipper and copy it over and over again for all the notches. It's very troubling when these elements snap to the pixel grid, because it's very unprecise then.
I've been using my trial of Photoshop CS6 Extended for 10 days now. I have run into a peculiar problem - when saving a file Photoshop does not display any sort of icon. No thumbnail, no generic, nothing. It's not a huge problem, I can always open the image but not by double-clicking on the icon: it's just not there.
View 654 Replies View RelatedI have CS6 installed on a Windows 8 system. The other day I needed to install an older version, CS2 to test a few things. This immediately changed all the Photoshop icons for things like Actions, Plugins, Filters, etc., to the CS2 icons.
After testing I uninstalled CS2 assuming all the CS6 icons would return. They didn't and now I'm left with blank white icons for things like Actions, Filters, Plugins, etc.
How can I get my CS6 icons back? Will uninstalling - reinstalling CS6 restore them? Is there an easier way? I need them back as I'm writing some documents that require screen shots and I need those icons back.
My old icons are gone on my psd files and such. Now they got a paint icon on them... How can I change this to photoshop cc so that I can actually see what kind of files they are...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm working on a project where I need a higher resolution version of the Photoshop and Lightroom tool icons. I've scoured the internet and can't find any icon sets of tools. I could do a screen capture of the tool palette and try to res them up, but they fall apart quickly.
I did open the package contents and poked around in there and found a few things like the eyedropper as PNG files, but could not locate any of the Photoshop tool icons.
I want to make a set of icons for my website, but I'm not too sure how to go about it, using photoshop. I want to make icons that are full 16-24bit colour - like Mac icons (not same style, but those kind of nice icons).

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have Photoshop CS installed and my daughter had Elements 3, but wanted me to show her how to use it. I installed it on my laptop to figure it out. I recently uninstalled it and now my icons for all my downloaded styles, brushes, actions, plugins, and shapes are generic windows icons. I keep them in separate folders to use in Photoshop as I need them. I can still use them, so it's not that big of a deal, but the Photoshop style icons are missing. I know it had something to do with uninstalling Elements 3 because I restored my computer thinking something was wrong and realized Elements was back and I checked and the icons were back. I uninstalled Elements again and they were gone again.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have been creating icons for a 3D program for nearly two years now and used to send the icons in PSD format to developers. Just recently I have been sending the icons as BMP at their request but the icons now seem to have the halo effect creepin into them. They want BMP files and they use the upper left pixel of the icon to determine the transparency in the icon as they need a gradient background, and active state and the icons are desaturated when not used.
Anyway, here is the procedure I am trying to solve this but something is going wrong.
1. I use a 3D program to make 3D objects then render the image with a white background at 300x300 as a JPEG. No Antialiasing.
2. I open a new image in CS2, drag the rendered image into it then use the magic wand with antialiasing turned off and tolerance of 30-40 to remove the white background.
3. Then I use Layers>matting.Defringe to remove any artefacts. At this point the icon looks fine.
4. I resize the image to 26x26 and choose Bicubic interpolation. Finally I drag it into a PSD document as a layer.
5. To get the image into a usable format I have a background layer of pink (RGB: 255,0,255) so that it can define the transparency then I save it as a 24bit BMP.
Problem is, when the developer puts it into the program it has a noticable pink halo around it. I cannot do any more to remove antialiasing which he tells me is the problem.
Changing file format is not an option...has to be BMP.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am running a subscription to Creative Cloud on a new Windows laptop....just Photoshop to start with. The fonts and icons are so small I can hardly see them...I have to get really close to the screen. I went to Edit >Preferences >Interface and changed the font size from medium to large but that didn't work (or if it did, the change was negligible). My screen resolution is set at 1920x1080 (recommended). I tried lowering it but that only changed the sizes of the fonts on my desktop, not in Photoshop. I run PS cs4 on my old laptop and never have had this problem.

I have a vector image in illustrator and need to export it as a .bmp file.

The existing icons in word are nice and smooth and seem to look fine.
We have CR 7.4, and CS6. The files are D800 images. When I open the file, the image looks totally flat, but all the levels (numbers for blacks, whites, contrast etc) all show the same as my client's computer.
Also, before I touch the file the XMP files appear correct. Adobe seems to recognize them, and they have correct icon. However if I save a change to XMP, the file appears as an apple script file.
I tried the adobe clean up app, re-installed PS, am running the newest CR7.4. Is there something I'm missing? My OS is 10.6.8 Snow Leopard. My client is on 10.8 .
