Photoshop :: PS Action Shortcut...

I figured out what the resolution is. Problem was with keyboard drivers. I unistalled the drivers and then updated them and that seemed to resolve the issue. All actions are back in working order.

I'd like to reassign "command=option-shoft-g" to an action I have created that will speed up my workflow tremendously. All my function keys are allocated already.

One of the steps in my action is a Hue/Saturation adjustment layer. When building the action, I simply click on H/Sat and everything works fine. But when I play back the action, I get the "New Layer" dialog box and AFTER I say "OK", I get the Hue/Sat dialog. My question is how can I prevent the "New Layer" box from appearing? It is an unneeded step in my action. I would like the action to go directly to the Hue/Sat dialog.

Is there any way to create an action or keyboard shortcut to set the Crop tool to the front window size in Photoshop CS6? I find that I use that several times a day. I got used to it being the top choice in the Crop tool presets menu.

Is there a way to add a keyboard shortcut or marking menu shortcut for visibility? It would be really convenient to be able to shift-click several objects and toggle the visibility of them. I have a mouse with numerous buttons that are mapped to commonly used IV features, but I cannot find a way to map a visibility toggle.

i am trying to build an action where the end product is a channel listing that has all the channel (R-G-B-L-C-Y-M-K (forget LAB a-b)). this will allow me to look at all the channels for contrast and subsequent extraction. i'm actually able to do this as i RECORD the action. but when i RUN the action, nothing happens.
in recording the action, i create a DUPLICATE IMAGE, then convert the new image to LAB. i then drag the "L" channel to the original image. it goes into the original image as an alpha channel which i rename to "Lightness." i then convert the duplicate image to CMYK and then one-by-one DRAG the individual channels to the original image. at the end of this process, i have all eight channels visible in the channels palette. this is what i want.
but then, when i RUN the action on a new image, the action fails to RECORD the "drag step and drop" step. the "L," "C," etc. channels are not dragged during the running of the action.
why does the "drag" step not record in the action

needs to overlay a grid over a photo and then save it as another file. In CS5.5 or earlier, no problem, but in CS6 it is not working for either of us.
The batch action (run from either Photoshop or Bridge) stops and prompts at the Save command every time no matter what format we save it in (psd, png, jpg, save for web, etc.).
I have been through the Web and the Adobe Forums and cannot find a work around for this. He cannot just hit enter everytime the popup window comes up because he has over 2700 photos to put this grid on.

methods of Mark johnson as outlined in one of his old Radiant vista tutorials which required the selection of all pixels above 50% brightness. The only way he ever showed how to achieve this in windows, with an image opened, multi-layered, was by the use of the shortcut "CTRL/ALT/TILDAR". This shortcut does not work in my newly installed CS4 - does anyone know of a substitute either long or short?

I'm just starting to use CS2. In CS if you wanted to make a selection of an individual object that was on its own layer, all you had to do was control/command click that layer. I used it all the time. Now its gone in CS2. Does anyone know how you do this? I've searched thru the shortcuts to no avail.

I usually just cntrl-z to undo it (or delete the state in history), then make a new layer and manually re do it, but you lose the work you just did on the wrong layer.

It keeps messing with my workflow as I use the backspace a lot and the help key (Mac) is really easy to press. Keeps opening my browser which is not a good idea when you're working huge images and you're on a schedule.

I was wondering if the shortcut CTRL+ALT+2 still works in CS6? Whenever I hold these three keys down at the same time nothing happens. Is it my PS that is playing up? I have used this shortcut several times in CS5!

When using Curves, one used to be able to move from one point to the next ("point" is what I use to refer to the points that determine the shape of the curve) by holding the Control key and pressing Tab.
This no longer appears to work with Photoshop CS5. I am wondering how I can move from one point to the next without having to click on the next point. More often than not I end up actually moving the point when trying to click on it.

I have a photo of a bottle of wine. I want to create a layer with only the bottle on it and no background. I have be using the magnetic lasso but it does not work well. I was shown once that you could put a rectangle around the selection, hold a button down and hit a key and the selected area surrounds the object perfectly.

I believe it's a 3-key shortcut, used to select all objects on a transparent layer, especially useful if you want to select text without having to use the magic wand on all the little holes in the a's & e's etc. Something involving ctrl+a+?
