I have a client that would like to include a light pink metallic pantone color in a design. They want a metallic color similar to an existing light pink solid coated pantone color already in the design (image lighter color in mane) but when I look at the pantone metallic color books the colors seem dark (img darker color in mane) and there does not seem to be a metallic match for the light pink color.

In the object colour docker how to I type in the Pantone number I want to use like I was able to do in X3 and X5? I cannot find anywhere I can do this now in X6. It just shows me this:
my printer has asked me to supply a pantone colour reference for a turquoise/green colour. it is for screen printing onto garments. however, when i look in the pantone colour galleries i have many variations of the pantone colour schemes, eg coated/uncoated/colour bridge/solid matte etc etc
which one do i need to select the shade from?
I am working on a 2-color newsletter in Indesign CS5... black and Pantone 227U.
Whenever I place a duotone .eps (black + 227U) or an Illustrator vector .eps with 227U in it, the color mode for that swatch changes to CMYK. An Illustrator vector which is 100% 227U also gives me the same issue.
I normally right click on the layers tab then 'select pixels' but this time, it didn't work! I had a black detailed image and a pure white background, is there a way of selection one colour e.g. all the black at once.

What I now want to do is save the file in this state, so that I can repeatedly change the colour of the selection to different colours, at different times, as I find new colours to use!

brought with her a USB stick containing several images of an old (31 years) scooter that she wishes to get restored, including a change of colour, and has asked me could I possibly change the original colour and try a few others to see what they look like.
Whilst making a selection of the original colour panels isn't a problem, when I change the colour using the Fill function the result of course is a flat colour lacking in any sort of metallic gloss feel to the paint.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am using CS6 and the Replace Colour Tool no longer allows me to replace multiple colours when I select the + . So when I have the panel open and I highlight the +, I used to then be able to click on several spots in my image and all of the colours that are in those spots are added to the selected colours that will be changed by using the sliders.
But now, when I use the + it has exactly the same effect as not using it - I can only choose one colour or an other, I can't add.....I want to reset this to the original way that this works.
Currently I have to open the panel, change one variation of a colour, save it, then re-open the panel and do it again (and again and again) until all the colour variations I am trying to remove are are changed. I know I also have the 'fuzziness' slider, but it does not give enough control.
I know how to replace one color with another in Pro Photo X2 from a palette or from within the picture itself, but what I am wanting to do is replace the color in the picture with - Gold, Silver or Metallic look. How to even get started with that, if at all possible (PS - I'm using Pro Photo X2).

View 7 Replies View RelatedI am designing a T Shirt for my ski club.I have taken an image from a banner (made in illustrator, full colour image attached) and I want to devide into a 3 colour image for the t shirt (I am only allowed 3 colours for printing).The colours I want to use are black, white and purple. The colour of the t shirt is a light blue.I want to then put the purple logo on top of the white and black too.So I'm after a black and white grunge background with a punchy purple logo on the top.All of this should be on a tranparent or, for design purposes, light bue (same as T Shirt colour) background.
how to split a full colour image into using only 3 (4 including transparent/light blue background) exact colours.
If I were going to black and white I might convert to grey scale and then paint areas to fully white or fully black using an overlay brush I don't think this works for me for more than just black and white though.
I have attached two of my attempts where I used the colour range selection and level adjustments. Niether was really successful though (one does not use the right colours or number of colours but looks quite cool).
