I have some that I use for everyday pictures and stuff like that.. but Ive tried making the brush as big as I can.. then Ctrl - T and stretch it out.. but by the time in done.. they look so distorted that I almost don't know what they are anymore..

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am interested in grouping and sorting brushes according to size, shape, whatever.
Right now when I add a brush library, they just stack on top of one another.
For example let's say I have a round brush with a 10 diameter, then next to it a round brush with a 20 diameter. If I make a 15, it goes to the bottom of the list, and I have to scroll all around. How can I group them?
I suspect I would have to make my own brush library with my brushes how I want them, then save that and load it?
How do i select the white sky in this photo without selecting any of the tree or leaves? I know it can be done with the "selecting tool" but it takes forever to do every little but of sky.
There has to be an easier way?
If it helps I have photoshop 7.0 & CS3.
I would like to use a brush tool and put some blue sky between it...
I am using the threshold tool to create a stencil. I first used the Quick Selection tool to cut out the objects I wanted and then tried to use the Threshold tool to create a black and White Only image.
However, for some reason, especially on the edges of the objects, the threshold tool left some grey marks, instead of black and white.
I tried using the threshold tool again, but not all of the grey marks were removed
While trying to use cloning tool, it would leave a trail of white & would not clone the designated area! If I buy the full version, I don't want my money waisted on a program that doesn't work properly!

View 1 Replies View RelatedI did a great image last night of friends all merged together.
when i turn the opacity to say 40% with a layer mask on each image, it still gives a pretty distinct edge to the pictures and doesnt blend together.
I'm experiencing this incredibly annoying behavior in PS over the past 10 days. Dragging with a selection tool (or shape tools) used apply a thin dotted outline only when the mouse was depressed—very useful for knowing what area would be selected. Now I don't see that outline until I release the mouse button (or stylus) at which point the outline persists (see attached screenshot). The behavior is sometimes corrected with a restart, other times not.

When resizing a layer with a layer mask and using any bicubic method, the layer maks scales 1 pixel differently from the other layers. Is this normal due to some component of bicubic interpolation or is it a bug?
Try the following:
Create a new image in Photoshop at 800 px x 800 px
Leave the locked BG layer and create a new layer
Fill the new layer with green (or your favorite color)
Add a layer mask to the green layer and fill the mask with black (via Fill with foreground color or Alt+Del) to completely remove any visible green from your document
Now use Image-> Image Size (Opt+Cmd+I) to resize your document using any bicubic scaling method. Resize to 600 px by 600 px.
Now zoom in on the document's edge at the pixel level. Is it completely white as it should be?In my case, no. However, if I use 'nearest neighbor' interpolation method when scaling, I do get a solid white edge. Even more strange, if I fill the layer mask with black by inverting it rather than filling it the problem does not happen.
Does anyone have any nifty techniques to simulate a tree carving? I'm looking to "carve" items into a photograph of a tree...
View 7 Replies View RelatedSo I am trying to take an image of a tree trunk (or a school desk, or a wooden door) and "carve" a heart with some people's names into it and make it look somewhat realistic, as if they carved their names into it themselves.
I am not completely new to photoshop, I can find my way around and have edited several other projects. I am, however, completely stumped on how to do this one. Please help! Let me know if you need any more info.
I have this photo of a tree in the forground, with a house behind it. I want to remove the house from the photo, would it be easier to select the tree and put it on a different layer or select the house and remove it. ? What is the best way to select a tree like this? I have read that the pen tool is not the correct way to select trees and leaves.

I'm using Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer and Adobe Bridge CS6 concurrently. If I have Bridge open to the same folder as PSE Organizer and I do an "Add captions ..." operation to a group of files selected in the Organizer, then there is a very good chance that PSE Organizer will rename one or more files to OriginalFileName_edTMP-1.extension and leave the renamed file in the directory rather than completing the update and returning the file(s) to their original name. In most cases my original files are Nikon .nef files with .xmp sidecar files, but I've also seen this happen with .psd files. The .nef files are generally large, averaging 35 Mb per .nef image and the .psd files are usually over 100 Mb. If PSE Organizer and Bridge are open to different folders then Organizer does not leave the renamed file. logical threading error in PSE Organizer where it does not consider that another application may be monitoring the folder and also opening the files, which is what Bridge does when it discovers that a file has changed (the addition of a caption changes the file contents.) This was also a defect in PSE Organizer 10.

2. The icy sea is taken from another photo i found on the web (probably antarctica). It seemed to blend nicely when i was working on the retouching but when i opened the project 2 days later i thought that the colors of the two photos didn't blend *that* nicely Is there a "scientific" way to harmonize the colors of two photos, so that they can fit well together? PS CS6 and Win7/64...We just finished shooting a 3 day conference for 600 people, that involved many break-out sessions. Our folder tree of all the finished TIFFs is organized by day, then by topic, and then by break out. All in all there are 75 folders in the tree, with close to 700 TIFFs.
The client wants both hi-res and lo-res JPGs (not the TIFFs).I have a very simple droplet that will convert a TIFF to JPG, but works only on a given folder, and outputs to a generic folder (so I have to copy these back).
Is there a way to create a droplet that will
(a) walk the source tree and convert the TIFFs of each folder to JPG, as well as
(b) Have PS create a matching tree to deposit the JPGs into the corresponding folders?
I know there's an option to include all folders when doing the conversion, but (b) is the critical element so I don't have to do this in a folder-by-folder basis.
