I am using a Nikon D5100 and shooting in raw. When I upload the photos to i Photo they are raw files. When I open them in Photoshop CS6 they are jpgs. I tried uploading the photos to Bridge CS6 and they imported as jpgs. How to open the files so they remain raw and not jpg?
View 4 RepliesI am having is that when I have a shape layer with multiple shapes and I group that layer with other layers, transforming the group gives unexpected results. Currently what is happening is that all none shape layers are getting transformed uniformly and shape layers only transform uniformly shapes that are selected with the path selection tool. Previously transforming a group ignored shapes that had been selected using the path selection tool and transformed the entire group uniformly.
So for instance I create a shape layer with 3 ellipses and I select one ellipse to work on. After I create three other layers while working and I put all four layers into a group. I transform the group and what happens is that everything in the group except for 2 ellipses are now being transformed.
I just installed my CS6 upgrade (Design Premium) and noticed that all of the CS5 folders are there in addition to CS6.My hunch is that it's still there because it needs to be, but if not, I'd rather have the space free.

View 2 Replies View RelatedIf it is possible to hide a layer but make its effect remain visible. I cant make the layer all white, put the effect on it and then blend it with multiply because the background its transparent so it wont work .
P.D.: the effect im trying to do is an inner glow, I know I can do it manually but i was wondering if its possible to do that.
I've been using the pen tool for almost a month now… I'm actually getting pretty good with it now, mainly using it to make my selections more precise… I haven't even bothered to try to draw with it, yet…
Anyway, I was already kind of sleepy when I started to outline the chopper with the pen tool… I got pretty tired & saved what I have done into a PSD. In Illustrator I know it would probably save my anchor points…
When I click on my Path palette, I can see some of my outline… But, the rest of it is filled in with white as a shape…With all of that said, in Photoshop… Is there anyway I can pick up where I left off tracing the nice Harley-Davidson?
Or… Do I have to start all over?
I already tried to use the Direct Path tool & Direct Selection Tool… My anchor points remain hidden.
I am unable to open files from the file "OPEN". I can open from Bridge or open recent document, but not from just File, Open.
My operating system is Mac OS X.
After getting no support from your phone support line. I am writing here in hopes that this issue can be resolved. I cannot open files or create new files in Photoshop CC trial.

Max 2012 works well on my HP 6910p computer with Win 7 64bit BUT Max 2013 does not show anything in the viewports ... installed it on a 'fresh' Win installation..
Just noticed this (first use of Max in a few days) so not sure what is going on, but any type of vertex (smooth, bezier, etc.) does nothing to change any vertex but they all remain corners. I get bezier handles and moving them apart moves the handles but does not change the shape of the lines going into the vertex.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm quite new to 3DS Max and I'm using the 2013 version. Normally, all the edges on any unselected objects in my scene were grey, but all of a sudden, every edges in the scene became white, and they remained white even when nothing were selected.
I don't know if I have used a shortcut that I'm not aware of, but this is really anoying. I can't tell which object is selected .

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a door in plan view with visibility, flip, rotate, alignment and tag attributes. It all works well except when i rotate it, the text inside the tag rotates as well. I want the text to remain horizontal and read left to right while it rotates. I searched here for an answer but it's got me £@*%ed. It works when i flip it straight up and down.
View 8 Replies View RelatedAbout a month and a half ago, after a microsoft update, I cannot open .cdr files from the file/open list. When going to file/open, the programs hangs up, cannot even use "cancel", and have to go to Windows Task Manager to shut down the program. All is well until I try to open a file from file/open.
I can import .eps, and everything else seems fine.My work around is to open from My Documents --Which works fine. Just is a silly little aggravation.
I have uninstalled, reinstalled, repaired, etc....all the normal fixes.
I recently installed a student version of Maya 2012 on my home computer so I didn’t have to work from college for a project, but I have run into some issues.
Not sure what is going on with my Maya but it won't open files unless I actually go to it in the browser and double click on the file. Even once I have done that I can only save over it, save as doesn't work. I also can't create or set projects. There are probably more problems but these are the ones I noticed/really need.
This is what appears in my output window:

I'm using Gimp 2.8.4 on a MacBook Pro.
I have been working on an image file for several hours now, and as a result, there were MANY files open (probably over 30).
I attempted to save the file, and recieved the following error message:
"Could not read the contents of [folder name] Too many open files"
I then closed each of the open files except the file I was trying to save, but got the same results.
The same error message pops up when I try to open a file as well.
Cannot open .AI files, I have run all the updates but still having to use Fireworks to open AI files.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm working with both Photoshop and Illustrator CS6 on a mac. I'm creating a graphic. The background is a (cartoonish) mouth and I finished it a couple of days ago. (It's an Illustrator file.) I've been working on the letters to go inside of the mouth, (Once I'm finished it'll look as though they're being crushed.) I scanned and edited small wooden letters in Photoshop, and now I would like to work with them with the background in Illustrator. I understand how to open a Photoshop file in Illustrator, but I don't want to open the document as a separate Illustrator file. Is there a way to open a file from Photoshop as a second layer?
Some of the letters repeat as well. Will I have to create two files for this, or can I open the same file twice?
Debian updated GIMP this morning (2.8.2) and I notice that after cropping an image, the crop lines remain on the picture. Is this a bug or a "feature" ?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm making a simple template to laser cut. The laser cutter acts as a printer and you choose the power, speed, etc. for each color that is in the document. I only want to cut, so I only have RGB red lines at 0.001 pt thickness. Or at least that was the plan. One of the shapes in my template has come out a different red (the swatches were CMYK despite the document colour mode being RGB). I would now like to select all the paths in the document and make them all RGB red. However, when I open the color panel from the dock the sliders are CMYK, again this is despite the document color mode being RGB:

View 3 Replies View Relatedstep 1) I remove the background of my image with the color to alpha method, isolating the part of the image i want.
step 2) I then use color select tool to select all the transparent area that was left behind from step 1.
step 3) I create a new layer.
step 4) Then I use the bucket fill tool to fill in the area on the 2nd layer that was selected in step 2.
This is where I run into trouble. On some pixels where the color filling meets dotted line area (made by color select tool) the color comes out translucent. I don't want this to happen. I want it to be solid ff00ff (color hex) without the random reductions in opacity.
I'm working with sprites and the emulator i use has ff00ff as transparent. I'm getting random pink color coming out of the edges of my sprites. These little specks of pink should not be appearing in game because it is supposed to be read as transparent. i suspect that these specks coming out are related to these translucent hiccups made in gimp.
I have just been doing some work for a company and they were using AutoCAD 2009.
One of my tasks involved stretching and moving items from imported drawings over Architectural layouts. Lines drawn on the x and y axis were fine. However, if I zoomed in on angled lines they moved out of view making them difficult to select or position to a snap point. If I selected those lines then they remained in place when I zoomed in.
When I approached the company manager he replied by saying that he would zoom in then zoom out to the point where the lines were correct and in place. I thought that he was either joking or was testing me! It meant I could not do any detailed work - which contradicts the use of Auto CAD.
The question has to consider the fact that the lines were angled and that they remained static when selected. When zooming in and selecting them they were off and running out of the screen view. also note that my colleague at the next desk opened up the file on V2008 and he could zoom in okay. I was also using a wide screen if this matters.
When I select a tool, nothing happens...my cursor remains a useless white arrow! What is wrong??
