Photoshop :: How To Create Distressed / Rubber Stamp Effect
May 24, 2013I am trying to create a distressed, rubber stamp effect in Photoshop and am having some difficulty with the orientation of some of the text inside a text wrap. The text on top appears just how I want it, but when I try to place text on the bottom, it appears upside-down. I've tried using text-warp as well, but it obviously distorts the text and I don't want that. Is there an easy way to have the text on the bottom of text-wrapped circle orient rightside-up?

Illustrator :: Creating Distressed Look On Object - Expand Gradient Mesh
Mar 19, 2014I'm trying to create a distressed look on an object that has a gradient mesh appliet to it. i've done this with regular objects but never on one with a gradient mesh. one of the steps in this process is to expand the object, but i'm not able to do so because the expand option is grayed out in the drop down menu.
normally after expanding the object i would use one of the artistic charcoal brushes to create a texture over the object in a different color. then i would select the brush strokes and expand apperance. then, using the pathfinder, i would merge the expanded brush strokes with the expanded object and then delete the brush stokes. what remains is the object with little cut-outs where the texture of the brush strokes used to be.
however i can't do this because i can't expand the object with a gradient mesh.

Photoshop :: How To Create An Action
Jul 23, 2013I have a photoshop file with several layers...about 100. I want to put each layers into it's own group. The name of the group must be the same as the name of the layer.
I tried creating an action to do this but it did not work right. It only works for one layer selected individually. If I select multiple layers, then it forms nested groups. How do I create this action? I am using adobe photoshop cs6 ( I think) , windows 7.

Jun 3, 2013here is an odd ball question. I just scanned a image and now I am trying to open it in ps cs6. It opens just fine but I cannot rename the background layer or make new layers. I have tried other files and they work just fine. It's really strange. I double checked and there no process like free transform or clipping that might keep me from renaming the background. ? I am uisng ps cs6 on a mac. Here is a screen shot.

Oct 26, 2013I can't create a Pattern of a selection area. When I try to create the Pattern at Edit->Define Pattern, this option isn't available. I will tell you the steps I'm taking:
->Create a new doc and use Paint Bucket Tool to paint it with Black (this is the background).
->Then I create a new layer and with the rectangular marquee tool I do a square.
->Keeping the selection I press cmd+backspace and the square becomes white.
->Keeping the selection I do a Stroke with 2px, color black and option Inside.
->Then I go to Edit to define a pattern of that square, however the Define Pattern option is gray, so I can't use it.
