View 5 RepliesI have two maps of same area (different years) and I want to match them up as one map. I can load them both as layers and make the older map transparent so that I can see through to newer map, but older map is larger than the newer map (in the background). I can move the transparent map but I cannot make just the transparent map smaller to fit over the other map. I will also need to rotate the map slightly. When I try to resize it changes both maps. I have tried the transform and the move tool. So how can I make one layer smaller and rotate it it leaving the other layer intact?

View 2 Replies View RelatedHow do I make the edges of the top layer blend in with the bottom layer so you cannot tell that there is a line??? I want to make it look like a heart but I don't know how to smoothen the edges to make it look like it is part of the bottom layer so when I merge the layers there is no goofy lines looking like someone cropped another fire picture out...

How would you take a layer mask, and make it its own layer? If you try copying and pasting a layer mask, you can only dock it to another layer.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn order to make a copy of a layer. I know I make a copy of the layer, but then I'm having issues taking the layer, and reversing it horizontally so that I can create a new layer using the previous copied layer. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, and I've been experimenting with it. I'm now able to create really nice and curvy looking hills, but still just not able to copy it, and reverse it.

View 5 Replies View Relatedhorizontal nav bar just create few lines and copy/paste. Don't know if there is the professional pattern way. Or even if you would use it in this case.
Then there is the diagnol lines, very thing and sharp.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a gif (as below) and I am trying to remove the strip of yellow you can see diagonally. the image was originally a fawn/yellow/brown colour, but using the 'Replace Colour' tool, I have managed to colour most of it in blue - apart from that yellow strip you can see.
Â
When the image is magnified, the diagonal strip of yellow under the blue appears with the edges all jagged and it looks untidy. Is there a way to make them smoother, or should I begin by doing the whole thing in a different way? I am using Photoshop Version 8.
Im having a hard time making a pattern out of my psd file below. Ive searched online and cant find an exact tutorial on what I need, and after following other tutorials, I just cant get mine to work.
View 13 Replies View Relatedwhen using the brush/pencil tool it now only draws straight lines (horizontal and vertical). If I try to draw a diagonal line, for example, it just comes out as a staircase.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI seem to have forgotten how to create stright diagonal lines. Whenever I draw a line now, whether its diagonal right away or I rotate it, it seems a little pixeleated, if thats the correct term.
is there an easy way to bend a line or text? For example bending a vertical line to a 90degree postiion.
I'm trying to create a pattern that has text in it. The text would be diagonal, and it should tile, serving as a web page background. Any tips on how to do so?

View 2 Replies View RelatedPhotoshop cs5 I have a picture with a lot of layers.
Â
One of the layers I would like save as a separate layer that is not part of the images, for after that to use the stamp tools to "copy" from the new lay and in my original image.
Â
When do I copy a layer which is a self-image?
I have a layer that I used in every project of Adobe Photoshop and in that case I used to re-design that layer or copy the image of layer from another project. Is there any way to make that layer default that when I shall start a "new" project, that layer automaticaly fix at layer panel (same as first layer) ?
View 2 Replies View RelatedAfter recent update (CC) the feature which was allowing the invisible layers (turned off by "eye" icon) to be not selectable by Move Tool is gone. So when one have a web page design with 300 layers and 3 states in groups and you decide to deactive some of them (make them invisible) you can still select them. So overall it makes imposible to selecet anything. You must do it manualy on the Layers pannel.
Â
See image below - so instead of selecting only visible layers (like in previous versions) now onet is forced to select every possible layers so in most cases all present layers in the file.

see the red circled area thats the icon that will hover over your choice of selection. As you can see the properties are 91x69 I have found the perfect picture to hover over the menus, however if i just crop the picture 91x69 there will be some bacground image left... Code:
a way to duplicate a layer behind a layer, rahter than in front of a layer? Maybe through an action script? I have tried a few times without luck. ...basically, I do a lot of architectural photo composites. When I am placing trees, I often duplicate layers, and scale, and tint to fill in area. But when I duplicate the layer allways goes in front, rather than behind. Since I can only scale down to keep my resolution crisp, I then have to manually drag that layer down the list, so it is behind the layer that was duplicated.

1) The guitar
2) The persons face
if it's possible to make the persons face transparent enough(If at all) so it would appear on the guitar?
I've made some selections by color range to recreate a scan and have them as channels. When I save them as a pdf while veiwing only the channels the result is a blank pdf. I'm thinking I should convert the channels to layers but can you. It seems I've done it before.
