I'm in the process of prepping individual components of a design for Flash animation. I'm trying to apply a layer of #7C6844 with the color effect at 56% opacity and a layer of #999999 with the color burn effect at 12% opacity to the foreground image which has a transparent background. This task has proved to be rather impossible for me, but it seems like there should be a way to do it. I would use the wand tool > select inverse and apply the colors over top that way, but the foreground image has a lot of leaves and branches, so that method would be extremely tedious.
Is there a way I can select the entire image as a whole and leave out the background?
I'll attach the image and the desired result to further assist.
I have been working on colorization, by putting a transparent B&W image over the color background, all is good apart from when I do people and just want to show their eyes in color. Allot of the times eye color comes out wrong, for instance, when I did my daughter her eyes are blue but color came out brown eyes.

Before a few days ago those were highlighted purple. Is there ANY way that I could change those colors to my own choice or is it something to do with Photoshop or maybe my system preferences?
Can I use a the color replacer tool in PSP 7 to replace a color in an image with a "transparent" color or is there some other way of doing this using the eraser for instance?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a jpeg image of a motorcycle on a pure yellow background. I want to make the yellow transparent. Naturally there are a lot of spaces within the motorcycle image that contain yellow.
I followed instructions I found...
Removing the background of an image
1) add an alpha channel to your layer
2) use colors/color to alpha and use the background color
This results in the checkerboard being applied to the motorcycle, not the yellow background. I assume that's okay.
This makes all the pixels with the background color transparent, and those with a close color partially transparent.
Then:
- select the background with the magic wand,
- grow the selection by a couple of pixels to ensure that the border of the sprite is in the selection (the most important work of color-to-alpha is on the border pixels, so they shouldn't be protected)
This selects only the area outside the bicycle, but I don't mind reselecting smaller areas, if I can.
- grow the selection by a couple of pixels to ensure that the border is in the selection (the most important work of color-to-alpha is on the border pixels, so they shouldn't be protected)
Can't read menu items, nor can I find a way in settings to make them lighter.

View 4 Replies View RelatedURL....I have a green vector background in illustrator and then I placed psd image over it and created PDF for press and under Color bitmap images I selected no compression. After viewing image in Acrobat all seems ok, I even checked with picker, but after I send this to printer (xerox in thsi case) I end up with this: Both .psd and .ai are in CMYK color space. For this particular case I could use mask to cover up that transparent space but my original project has shadows which I cannot mask by vector :S.
how to set color profiles or whatever is neccessary to avoid this issue. One thing I was using was, opening PDF in Photoshop and flatening all. Problem is that sometimes I need vector files and cut lines for cutter. Don't want to have bitmap, if I can have a vector? Also when I flaten image I do get same CMYK values in photoshop (with picker) than I have in Illustrator on vector object, but when I print this they don't match at all.

I brought an image into my photoshop cs6. View 8 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased Corels VideoStudio X5 Pro. Having successfully created my own menus in Ulead Photo Impact 12 and imported into Video Studio X5 (and actually getting them working) I have been creating new frames to use in the menus, mainly so that I can change the color to suit whatever background I use. I would like to be able to choose the color of the highlight and also possibly how the frame is highlighted. At the moment the frame is highlighted by completely covering the scene within the frame with either a yellow or cream highlight. I would like to create a border within the frame and have this as the highlight.
I have tried doing this and naming the border as HLI but when imported into Video Studio X5 it does not highlight the border, but the whole scene as before.
The new light blue color looks nice but on my project with 20% cyan scattered everywhere. When it's the background you are not even sure you have anything selected without going to wireframe.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe Mtext Editor allows one to change the text highlight color by going through the Text Formatting toolbar, clicking the arrow drop-down menu, and selecting Editor Settings > Text Highlight Color...
This brings up a Select Color dialog box with a single Index Color tab, which lists the default color of 16,62,112 greyed-out in the Color field. In AutoCAD LT 2008, one can select any AutoCAD Color Index (ACI) color from a range of 1-255, including the seven basic color names for colors 1-7. In the full version of AutoCAD 2008 (and possibly other versions of LT?), there are additional tabs for True Color and Color Books, however these tabs are not present in LT. AutoCAD LT limits text highlight colors to ACI colors only, excepting the default color of 16,62,112 as noted above.
My problem stems from changing the text highlight color in a quick experiment: there is no apparent way to restore AutoCAD LT's default text highlight color of 16,62,112, since it is not an ACI color. I can pick a sort-of-close ACI color instead (I'm currently using color 156), but it seems like there should always be a mechanism to restore any variable to its default setting.
how to restore the default Mtext Editor highlight color in AutoCAD LT?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a solid green rectangle.
I would like to create several similar green rectangles at various levels of transparency that will perfectly match the color of the solid green rectangle. Is there an easy way to do this?
I have tried matching it by eye, and can get very close:
the original solid green rectangle is R:135 G: 174 B: 155
after making a copy of the solid green rectangle, say, 90% transparent, I can play with Hue/Saturation to get around R:136 G:175 B: 154, according to the eyedropper. But I don't see any way of fine tuning the RGB/HSB/etc. absolute values in the transparent version.
Can Gimp create a highlight on mouse-over when an image map is created and put on a web page?
Maybe that's a thing only an html editor like Kompozer can do?
I was using these tool on a lot of images, because they often seemed to vastly improve them, making the colors pop on otherwise somewhat dull ones, and getting rid of unwanted color casts..
Later though I noticed that it is often at the cost of burning out hightlights in some areas beyond salvation.I also find shadow /highlight sometimes does this also.
Then I tried to protect some small areas with a mask before proceeding, but it seems that I can't find information on just painting a mask, but only videos with much more complex adjustment such as the Russel Crow or Lynda ones with maintaing hair detail while superimposing images, which is way beyond what I need in these cases.
If I try the wand to select and inverse I get unnatural looking divisions. Is it a matter of feathering to the right extent?

2. How to make a section of a pic transparent. I've spent a couple of hours on this now, and I've searched the documentation section, and I've searched the forums. Most specifically, how do I set a transparent color for a gif? But how do I make an AREA of ANY file transparent? One thing I tried to do was use the "Wet Floor Reflection" plugin, and it requires a transparent area below the existing image. I couldn't do that, either.
