Photoshop :: Healing & Patch Tools W/ Color Bleed

Aug 11, 2009

I am new to CS4, but have used PSE for quite sometime. The new Patch and the healing tools are great tools, but when I try to patch an area near a different color it bleeds into the patched/healed area. Is there a way to prevent this?

Photoshop :: CS6 Hangs When Using Clone Stamp / Healing Brush Tools On Mac

May 27, 2012

I am having a big problem when using the new CS6 on my Mac (os x 10.7.4). When switching to a new tool, like a brush, or clone stamp, or healing brush etc, Photoshop hangs for about 20 seconds before resuming. It's not 3rd party plug-ins, because I get the same behaviour when I run using the shift key and third party plug-ins are disabled. It doesn't happen every time, but it happens frequently.

Photoshop :: How To Get Color With One Click In Pixel Without Bleed

Jul 10, 2012

I ma on a PC with Windows7 using CS5.5 Extended. I am working on a piece where sometimes I have to deal with just one pixel at a time. If I am making a pixel black I select either a square or round brush, hardness 100, Opacity 100 and Flow 100. I have tried Normal Mode and several other modes but no matter what I always seem to get some bleed(shading) into other pixels and it takes a few clicks to get a solid color.

How do I get the color I want with one click in the pixel without bleed?

Photoshop :: Shape Color Bleed Around A Layer

Jan 17, 2013

I need to create a bleed around an object that is cut out on it's own layer. Basically I need a shape burst... the edge pixels expanding outward away from the layer. I know I could enlarge the layer but that doesn't work with more complex shapes. And I don't want to use the rubber stamp tool. I have lots of images to do. The end result does not need to be detailed at all, it will be blurred. How to create this other than rubber stamp?

Photoshop :: Capture Illustration Color To Paste In Full Bleed Area For Children Book?

Jun 6, 2012

I am using InDesign CS5 and Photoshop CS5 and have scanned full color illustrations into Photoshop. I am preparing 7x10 saddle stitch and casebound books with the illustrations which need at a 1/8" bleed area. My problem is the illustrations have key elements right up to the edge of them. I need to add complementary colors to fill in the bleed area around them so I don't lose any of the originals. What is the best way to do this?  Also, I need to copy colors from the illustrations and make separate pages of the colors to import into InDesign. What is the best method to do this? The colored pages will be the background with story text on them and reside opposite to the illustrations.

GIMP :: Distorted Rainbow Color Bleed In Exported Transparent PNG Files

Dec 27, 2012

exported transparent png fiiles get this rainbow of color distorted bleed when previewing or importing into programs that cannot read the png's transparency!!! even program that can read the png's transparency after you check a 'make transparent' checkbox (such as Memorex Expressit label design studio) have this distorted color bleed!! like in the label program checking 'make transparent' leaves the rainbow color distortion in!!!

this seems to be ONLY happening with Gimp exported PNGs!!! other PNGs and other programs that can generate transparent PNGs don't have this issue!

Photoshop :: Color Calibration Tools

Feb 21, 2007

I've been bitten by the color bug, and I want to know if anyone at PS has hardware that measures your monitor (spektrometer?) along with the software that I could borrow (or even perhaps buy?)

If it was for borrow, I would pay for shipping both ways as well as a perk for thanks. (I don't know if I can justify buying something that I'd only use once) But aside from using the proper color spaces, this should adjust the phosphors and such for perfect color calibration.

(It's amazing moving work from once PC to another how the color changes)

I use several brushes, the mixer brush and the smudge tool back and forth when painting. Is there a way I can pull the various brushes, and tools into a panel like the color swatches so it's all right there and all I have to do it click and go?

Photoshop :: Severe Color Posterization / Patches And Non Functioning Selection / Fill Tools

Aug 14, 2012

I just got a new laptop (Apple Mac book pro with OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion) and a fresh installation of Adobe CS6 and Photoshop is practically unusable. The issues are that there is weird color banding across the full size image (it looks fine in the thumbnail preview in the ‘navigator’ tab). These bands move and change. Next, when I use the selection tool it selects weird shapes. And if I attempt to fill it, the fills are not the color, nor the transparency nor the shapes that I set. That means masks can’t be used and pretty much no editing is possible. Some blog posts describe a similar problem, and propose changing the ‘Performance’ preferences .

Photoshop :: PS CS4 After The Patch...

Mar 18, 2009

Photoshop CS4 was useless for me due to many problems that occured on my system (and as far as i can see, many other user's systems).

Meanwhile i installed the Patch to Version 11.0.1 and updated to new NVIDIA-driver Version 182.03.

I gave PS CS4 another try and realized, that some of the problems are gone. The OpenGL Features stay activated, rotating and smooth zooming are available and work fast and stable, graphic glitches and wrong menu-drawing are gone. That is most of the time...

Some problems remain:

- My long trusted wacom driver Version 493-3 (the only driver i had no problems with) does not grant me pressure-sensitivity in Photoshop CS4. It works well with CS3, but in CS4 theres no pressure at all. So switched to ne newest driver version. But even the newest Wacom-Driver does not work properly. If I close photoshop and reopen it, some pressure sensitivity of the brushes is gone. Sometimes ALL pressure sensitive functions are gone. Sometimes it helps reloading my brushes, sometimes this has no effect at all. Driver Version is 610-6 in combination with an Intuos3 Tablet.

- I have many cases where Photoshop just disappeared. It closed without warning or error-message.

- the OpenGL Features STILL deactivate out of nowhere. This happens mostly with layer-intensive documents and in combination with taskswitches. I only realise this when zooming becomes jumpy and the smoothness is suddenly gone. Then the rotate feature is greyed out. Strange thing is, all openGL features are still marked as active in the preferences. There's no warning or error message, the features simply vanished for this particular document. (It stays active for other open documents at the same time)

I am completely helpless here. For me it is AGAIN back to CS3. Working with Photoshop CS4 is really not possible with the above mentioned things happening all the time.

I use the most recent drivers available. My system is still fresh and nothing of this ever happened with Photoshop CS3.

Photoshop :: Removing Ink Bleed Through Paper?

Nov 23, 2011

I have some art I did back in high school that I recently scanned in. They are just pen doodles that I did on regular lined notebook paper. But on some of the pages I drew on both sides of the page, so when I scanned one side the ink from the other side bleeds through. I'd like to remove those portions but keeping the original lined paper look.

I tried content-aware fill, healing brush, spot healing brush, and more but nothing seems to work quite right. I seem to have the best luck with the patch tool, but for the parts selected close to ink, the replacement patch gets blue ink blur. It's like Photoshop is trying to guess what should go around those edges but all I want is just the plain selected area CS5?

Photoshop :: Why Is CS6 Patch Not As Good As CS3

CS6 Normal;
CS6 Content Aware.

CS3 is MUCH better.

Then I circle a gray area in the background of my photo and, holding down the left mouse button, I drag the selection to a black area in the background and release the mouse button. Instead of turning the selected area black it just makes the area slightly darker than it was originally.

Photoshop :: In CS4 - Using Patch Tool

Oct 26, 2012

I select an area I want to repair, click source, then drag to the area I want to use to make the repair and release. It looks great in the preview, before I release. As soon as I release it disappears.

For example, after using the automate tool to combine multiple images into a panorama with a transparent background there are a few blank areas. I select one of the blank areas with the patch tool, click source then drag to the area I want to use as the replacement and release. As soon as I release, it goes back to the transparent background. The transparent button is NOT selected.

This is a Windows Vista system, with NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT video, If I try to do updates to CS4 is sas it is using the latest driver. Which it lists as version 11.0.2.

Photoshop :: The Patch Tool

Apr 29, 2009

I am using the patch tool to patch (!) areas of an image.  Instead of patching the selection into the image, PS4 blends it, so that some of the patch and some of the original image are visible.  I've searched for a way to instruct PS4 to reduce the opacity but I can't find such an option.  Is it possible to truly 'patch' and not 'blend' an area of an image?

1. Open image of pot/vise.

2. I used the Patch tool and defined a selection around the stitches.

3. With the Source mode button checked (transparent is checked too but I don't know what that does), dragged from inside the selected area to a new area. While the mouse button is held down, the new area is displayed in the original selected area which is good so far. However, as soon as the mouse button is released, the original selected area reverts back to the original area and no longer is the new area.
