View 4 Replies View RelatedI was messing around the other day and I came up with this effect. In my haste to get something done I just saved the picture and moved on. Unfortunately now I am unable to remember the name or location of the effect I used. I am not sure if it is a filter or not. I am sure this is just a silly little thing and I am being dumb, however I have gone through every menu and every filter and I can't seem to figure it out. This image I believe I had inverted and maybe changed the color layout a little bit, but the effect changed both color and style.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm going through this tutorial: URL....On step 10 it says to go to Filter>Stylize>Glowing Edges......I can't find it there! Is it not in photoshop CS6? This is especially frustrating because this is one of the most important parts of the tutorial and I've been working on this for hours only to find that Glowing Edges is missing.I'm using the free 30-day trial.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI was trying to turn a photograph into a pencil sketch. When I attempted to go:
Filter>Styalize>Glowing Edges, I find that Glowing Edges is de-selected and, therefore, is unavailable.
I was using Illustrator CC today and had the Drop Shadow show up in the menu of Effect > Stylize. Now all I see in this menu is Glowing Edges. How did this happen and how do I get all the effects to show up again?
Edit: Never mind. I was looking under the Photoshop Effects section instead of the Illustrator Effects section.
When you run the 'trace edges' filter, you are left with an outline of your image and all its contrasting points. - this line is about 6 or 7 pixels thick, does anyone know a way of reducing the thickness of these 'lines'?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a procedurally generated image (a bird's eye terrain map). The edges wrap-around (I can tile the image without seams) I applied the Sponge artistic filter on it, but the edges don't match anymore.
Is there any way to get a Photoshop filter to recognize the opposite edge's pixels so that it maintains my tile effect?
I am unable to locate the artistic filter called "poster edges". According to the online info on PSE 10, I should be able to find "poster edges" by going to editor, effects, filters, artistic and under artistic the POSTER EDGES should be there. All are there EXCEPT poster edges.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a stock filter or one that can be added to GIMP that sort of rounds the edges of sharp parts of an image?
I'm looking for a filter or effect that can round the sharp edges of a bitmap image of a font, to give it that 'Xerox Machine' effect where a sharp font looses it's sharp corners and gets a rounded effect from being copied over and over.
I already tried the 'Gaussian Blur' filter, but that just creates soft edges and not the rounded corners that I'm looking for. The effect that I'm looking for is not fuzzy or blurred, but is more of a 'rounded corners' effect... it can be seen in the attached image that is below.

I am curious if anyone has any tips on how to make some realistic looking burning and glowing coals.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIn analog photography, various soft focus filters will create a glow in the highlights, without blurring them (a slight loss of contrast, but no loss of resolution). I've tried a duplicate layer, Gauss blur, lighten blend mode.... just got a glowing blur....
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm sure this is covered but maybe I didn't search hard enough to find it on the forum but.. how is this done?
My main question is how do you do that glow thing on the eyes?
my second question is is there a way to take out that name and put one of my own in there?
how they designed the word Najwa in this picture.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIt has been quite a while since I have posted. And in that period, my Photoshop skills have improved greatly. I am still learning a few new techniques and I just started working on brushing. There is a certain technique that I see quite often and would love to learn how to do. I'll post a few examples so you guys can see the effect that I am leaning towards.

View 9 Replies View RelatedOf course photoshop can touch up an image to make it appear that a 3d image is glowing but can photoshop 3D (cc version) create and render an object to glow as if it were giving off light that then produces an auric glow around the object?
I need to have a sphere that appears to emanate light and then gives off a glow, an aura around it, without having to touch up the photo in photoshop 2D.
I want to create an object that looks like it is made out of a glowing coal, but I'm not sure how to go about doing it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm wondering how to do glowing text over a background image. What I am looking for is the technique used on the title text from the show "Smallville"
Here are the restrictions:
-Background image (obviously background layer)
-Glowing text (but not regular font. I made some font and just saved as black and white image)
I have spent a while looking for the technique, but nothing seemed to work well. I applied a Gaussian filter, weird polar coordinates thing (seen from another site), and Wind effect.
The wind effect seems closest. However, when I force a black and white text image to have the wind effect, the background of the white glowing text remains black and it looks bad if I just make the black transparent.
picture's line...got light glowing ...how to make?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried the following in Illustrator,
So basically, I created coloured text inside Adobe Illustrator and however much I zoom into the text, the text always appears to have smooth edges. Once I click on 'Save For Web', the edge all around the text becomes rough and aliased. I chose GIF and PNG, but it still happens. The text is on a transparency background. The same problem applies to images when I am creating a logo.

View 13 Replies View RelatedI tried to use the lens flare filter in Photoshop CS6.While the lighting effect is interesting, it introduces ugly artifacts like blue or orange blobs (which are supposed to be the reflection of the diaphragm, but do not look anywhere close to that, but instead are just cheesy looking blobs of color).
In the "movie prime" setting blue lines are added which have nothing to do with lens flar.On top of it, the preview is about the size of a stamp. Any way to use the filter without getting these artifacts, or is it - what I assume - just a useless toy filter, that has probably been dragged on for years and years because it's always been there? What do you use to create a lens flare effect? Are you just building it from scratch with brush work?
camera raw filter does not show up on the filter drop list on CC. I am trying to determine why this is the case. So far everything else seems to work.
