why Photoshop CS6 can't have a simple effective palette choice like this one from Fireworks?
I'm an artist and this palette makes sense to me. The standard issue pallette in Photoshop is a mess compared to this.Is there any way to get this palette into photoshop CS6?
For some reason, the tool palette I usually use is not accessible. I opened a drawing that a co-worker was using and my tool palette now looks like an old version - it doesn't have any of my custom tools in it. How do I get back my tool palette??
I've only ever used gimp sparingly and for simple stuff. I now need to set the palette of a 8-bit png to a specified palette, but I can't find any in gimp or online about how to load a palette. I need the palette to contain colors that may not be in the image if thats possible as these images are sprites of under 40 colors, but I need a full 256 color palette. Also is there any simple way to convert a string of numbers into a gimp palette? If not Ill probably just look at how they are saved and just write a simple script, but I thought i would ask.
how I change the width of palettes in Photoshop. By unknown reasons it's not possible for me to change the width of any palettes in PS CS3 (i.e color- and layer palettes etc). Is this normal, a new version feature perhaps? :-)
For instance, my action palette has a width of two columns, and I can't change it to a single column. This seems a little bit weird to me - all the extra space my new widescreen monitor give me are now reduced by extra wide palettes in Photoshop! :-/
how to use Photoshop CS3 for Macs, which had a history palate on the right side of the screen. It was way easy to undo and redo steps and it was super convenient to have. I recently downloaded Photoshop CS4 for my Windows laptop, and it doesn't have a history palate on the screen! It's been driving me crazy because I used it all the time on CS3.Does anyone know if CS4 for Windows has a history palate, and if so, how to get it onto my main screen?
I can't get my palette menu to display the second col. on the left side of the palette. I get the col. with the eye only. I can't get the col. with the box that shows the paint brush. I've looked through my books, and the help, but nothing.
I seem to have somehow broken my brush palette! I clicked on define brush and pressed ok, and this must have been the cause of the problem because immediately after I pressed ok the palette faded, and I wasn't able to scroll down or select any of my brushes anymore and haven't been able to since.
I've tried resetting the brushes, restarting Photoshop (I have version 7.0 by the way) and restarting my computer,
How do you import a windows BMP palette into Photoshop. I want to create a windows boot screen for a client (dont ask - I rolled my eyes too) but i cant figure out how to import a palette. Before you ask me "why do you need to import the palette",
I am unable to use the Search in Photoshop Help. This has not been a problem in the past. I did however recently load SP2 but really don't remember if this feature worked following that download.
Also, while doing a tutorial one of the steps indicated that the channel visiblity should be turned on and used. When I went to the channels palette this was not available. I have Photoshop 6 and it's quite possible that this feature came later. Is there anyway of changing the visiblity of an individual channel.
I am trying to work on a collage and when I open my pictures they are not opening as individual layers in the layer palette as all my materials say they should. As I open one at a time they open as a background and that is the only layer in the palette. They are all in the photo bin but only one palette is displayed. I have gone through a couple tutorials step by step and for some reason it is not working. How do I get my pictures to open up as their own layers so I can work with them?
I just upgraded from MacOSX 10.5.8 to 10.6 and using Photoshop CS4.Not sure if this is related to what happened today, but...
"About Photoshop" is greyed out. Can't tell what version I have. I need to duplicate a layer in a high res RGB image. The LAYER, CHANNELS, PATH palettes have all options greyed out, except "convert to smart object", which I don't know yet what that is. The image is in 8 bits/channel.
For some reason my Styles Palette lists "most" of my style-sets twice? There is a horizontal rule below my last style listing in the flyout menu before it starts listing them again? Loading a style from either list works. I have done a search on my hard drive and on one file exists for each style .asl file.
I recently upgraded from CS5 to CS6. The CS5 license was on a PC, the CS6 license is on my new Mac.
I have access to my old PC still, but I have not been able to figure out how to transfer my Actions or my Camera Raw presets (.XMP files) to the Mac. I need access to these Actions asap and am not able to recreate them.
CS2 tools palette remains on top, when I now use CS4 my images cover the tools palette. Someone has been dabbling and lost a basic function when messing with the design of the interface. How does one keep the tools palette on top ?
I have mine down the left side of the screen and have done so since the very first ever Photoshop,.
As soon as I move my images around its gone, buried under them. The Layers etc palettes remain over the images, just the tools get buried.
getting rid of some of the gradients in the gradient palette. I'm using Photoshop CS3. Sometimes the graients I create are added to the palette, sometimes they are not, (regardless of whether of not I save them.) The palette is full of gradients at this stage, (some of which are default gradients I would never use.) There doesn't seem to be any logical way to get rid of some of the gradients that have been stored in the gradient palette.
When working with painting in photoshop it would be so nice if you could have the colur palette open so you could just mix or change directly without having to doubleclick on the colour to change that.Is that possible?
Lately whenever I first start CS5 my Layers palette is minimized. It just started doing this yesterday. It never used to do that and I can't think of anything I did that would have caused that. I tried Reset Essentials. That fixes it while I have PS open, but next time I start it up the Layers palette is minimized again.
Is it there anywhere in photoshop a glyph palette, since i am using many icon fonts and it is slowing me down everytime to go to "Character Map". Or if not as part of photoshop is it there any plugin/extension that could give me this feature?
The color I see in my foreground selection is different to what I see when I add it to my artwork. I am working in CMYK, the mode is normal and the opacity is 100%. I haven't seen this before, so I am wondering if the client artwork that I am working on may have had some inbuilt settings that have superceded my settings (is that even possible?). I am using CS3 Photoshop on a PC, and the upgrading or modification of either is not an option.
I am finding it very annoying that after i use curves the palette does not dissappear and I have to maually click to get rid of. On my large screen at home this is fine but I work in a college with small monitirs and its very frustrating indeed. Work around or am I just being dim? this only happens in PS6 not 5.
in CS6 13.0.4 x 64, the PDF process is iffy for me. Sometimes it's fine. But other times, an incomplete image results. Is this related to the overall type bugginess that Adobe recommends we fix (which I've not yet done)...?

I'm lazy, but also, I don't have a lot of confidence I'll do it correctly, and I have a myriad of deadlines every week.
While I've your eye, here's another question relating to the layers palette:
Layers sometimes stick to my curser and I can't unstick them until I go back to the palette and try to place them back where they orignally were. (I'll be really embarrassed if this is a new feature of CS6 that I've not figured out yet...)
