Photoshop Elements :: All Photos Are Missing?
Jul 14, 2013My son was messing around in Photoshop Elements 11 and now all my photos have disappeared. I don't think he deleted them.

Mar 18, 2013I have Elements 10 Core Version 10.0 Language Version 10.0 fully updated (or so Elements reports on asking to check updates) running in Windows 7 64 bit.
I have over 20,000 photos on C drive in jpeg or fine jpeg format mainly shot with a Nikon D70 over several years. I took photos last Friday/Saturday with a new Nikon D7000 (jpeg) and uploaded to Elements 10 (C drive) via SD card reader. They uploaded OK, were saved to Elements Organiser and I deleted some, edited others and emailed several. Today these photos are missing and possibly other shots taken after 10th Feb 2013 too some of which might have been taken with the D70.
Both Elements Reconnet and Find Photos and Videos fail to find any photos not already in the Organiser. I tried Recuva to search the PC's hard drives for deleted photos. It didn't find any as such - only eBay etc jpegs.
I have 120kb copies of the emailed photos attached to the emails in the Outlook Sent box. I noted the reference number of a photo and searched Windows 7 for it. Windows doesn't find it.
Before I looked at Elements today Windows was installing update KB2656351 concerning NET framework 4 and we had a power cut part way through. I have no idea if this is relevant but I menton it in case it is.
There are no photos in the Organiser after 10th Feb 2013 and there should be several hundred. I can take the loss as they probably weren't vital photos but I am very keen to know where they went to do my level best to ensure it doesn't happen again with more valuable photos.
I have phoned Abobe but they only support Elements 11 now, they said. I have searched without success both their FAQ's and the FAQ's on this forum.
Photoshop Elements :: Get Missing Photos Back Into The Organizer?
Feb 2, 2013Just a few days ago I had about twelve folders of photos in my Organizer. Now I have only two folders that have content. When I click on the other ten folders I see this message in the Media Browser, "No media to be displayed."
I have both Adobe Premiere Elements 11 and Photoshop 11 which I got three weeks ago. The only thing new on my computer is the software that came with my Nikon camera - NX2 - a photo storage and photo editing program. My photos are still in my Windows Pictures program.
Photoshop Elements :: Missing Files (?) After Moving Photos To Trash
Apr 16, 2013I work with photos that I put on desktop. I open them with preview, make a copy, and paste them into other software. When I am through with them and don't want to use them again, I usually move them from the desktop to the trash....that's when I get the (?)(missing file) notation on my photo in organizer. Is there a way to remove them from the desktop without moving them to the trash. Using macbookpro os x 10.6.8

May 10, 2013Elements 7. Without my opening, moving, renaming or otherwise molesting them, 2/3s of the photos in one of my two catalogs have suddenly gone missing. I have exhausted all the trouble shooting info I can find online and have tried the reconnecting procedures, optimized the catalog, repaired the catalog, rebuilt the thumbnails and uninstalled and reinstalled elements 7 all to no avail. The missing files, a mix of jpeg and nef totaling 272, are grouped in one block starting from the first photos I ever downloaded two years ago except for one which is a recent download. Elements 7 win xp 1G ram.

Dec 5, 2012Exporting my photo’s from iPhoto to the desk top and then importing to Photoshop Organizer 11, ALL photo’s show “Missing File” icon (?) in the top left corner when I eliminate photo’s from iPhoto. Why do I have to keep photo’s in iPhoto? Is there a workaround?
If I import iPhoto photo’s directly within Organizer I loose photo information.

Oct 16, 2008I'm using PHotoshop starter 3.0. In this I have tumbnails of my photos. However, due to a problem on my computer my family pics were lost. I was able to recover some using a photo recovery program. HOwever, there are many missing/corrupt photos. These thumbnails are still in photoshop. Is there a way I can work with or print the tumbnails -- even if its a lousy picture atleast I won't loose the memory.

Mar 21, 2013New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
Photoshop Elements :: Can't Paste Photos From Photos File
Mar 18, 2013I can not paste photos from my photos file. If I start a blank file I can paste anything photos want from the web in as many layers as I want. If I try to paste a photo from my own photos file it becomes the back ground by itself. I don't know how to stop this. Using photoshop elements 11.

Feb 22, 2013I created a new catalog for photos from the new year onwards. I am using the same Adobe version 8 and computer as before. I then imported photos to the new catalog and tagged them. I deleted any keywords tags headings that I no longer needed in the new catalog.
However I went to my old last year's catalog today only to find 1:any photos tagged under headings I deleted in the new catalog are not there and 2:all the tags and keywords are missing for the photos that are still there,. So basically nothing is tagged anymore and most of the photos are missing from Photoshop!!

Sep 11, 2012When I emptied my MAC desktop trash, it somehow deleted my entire iphoto. I can still see all of my edited versions of my photos in LR, but it says they are missing. Because my trash was emptied, it says it can't find them anywhere. Is there ANY way to get them straight from LR. I already went to an outside source to retrieve and couldn't get good files, BUT i can see them clear as day on my LR.

Aug 15, 2013I uploaded some RAW + Jpeg files and converted to them DNG into a folderin My Pictures called '*****_originals'.I've edited some of them in LR and others in PS. From PS, I created a new folder I named '****Edited' and 'Saved As' Jpeg's into this folder! From Lightroom, I exported the ones I'd edited, as Jpegs to the same folder as above.But, when I looked in the folder in Lightrooms Library, only the photo's exported from LR were there....OK, that's fine, as I knew I'd have to 're-import' the PS files back into the LR Catalog BUT, here's the problem....
When I go to import, those photo's are already there but greyed out, so I can import!But when I go back to the Library module again, they're not there? I can see them in finder and in Bridge... is this a Bug?
Lightroom :: Photos Missing After 3.5 To 3.6 Upgrade?
Dec 13, 2011I upgraded from 3.5 to 3.6 this morning and now 3/4 of my photo's show as gray boxes in the panel at the bottom of the screen. I click on the little question mark near the box and it tells me that the photo is missing. the box next to the question mark tells me the previos location and asks me if I want to locate it. This is new as of the upgrade. What should I do? This is happening with a couple thousand photographs.

I have multiple photos of the same thing and I want to compare them. When I switch to one of the other photos, all of a sudden I lose the top bar that contains the 3 icons to close, minimize or expand. My only alternative is to shut the program down and restart it.
