Feb 8, 2013I was watching a tutorial about PSE 11 and then noticed that under my photo in the organizer I do not see the date, time, & star option. Do I have to turn something on to see them. Also I do not see a place under the photos to put a caption. I'm using a mac book pro.

Oct 23, 2004trying to apply a diffuse glow, but the resulting effect comes out all grey/blue. I've tried the effect on multiple different image types (jpg, nef, etc.) and the results are always the same. I know what diffuse glow is supposed to look like.. and this ain't it!
I was editing on a different windows machine and I applied the diffuse glow. It worked fine. 10 minutes later, I tried to apply the filter again to the same image (started over), and again it gave me the ugly gray/blue look.

Aug 28, 2012Description of the task: I want to create a tool which is able to visualize the positions of pieces on a game board. At the moment I'm using Photoshop Elements 7. I think the following procedure would be appropriate:
2 layers, the basic layer would show the game board and the images of the pieces would be on the second layer. If I try to do that with Photoshop Elements 7 then each time when I insert an image of a piece a new layer is created. I don't need a layer per figure. Yes, one could reduce a layer afterwards. But it's not so comfortable this way.
In addition the images of the pieces should be movable on the game board. There is the option "free transform" in Photoshop Elements 7 but only one element (one piece) is movable afterwards. All the inserted elements should be movable.
So my question: Is it feasible within Photoshop Elements 7? If not, which version of Photoshop Elements would be adequate or which software do I need?

Nov 7, 2004I'm try to add a Diffuse Glow filter to an image and it's not working as expected. When I increase the Glow Amount slider, the high lights in the image turn BLACK, shouldn't they get brighter? This happens with all images JEPG's, TIFF's and PSD's with layers or not. I'm running PS7 on a PC. What am I missing? Thanks in advance for your help!

Mar 3, 2008I am still on PS CS saving up for Creative Suite production Premimium CS3, anyway, When I add a diffused glow to a picture instead of the white glow I get a grey color cast with lots of noise where the glow is supposed to be, this also happens when I try to change a color. When I change say red to blue all the red areas of the picture turn to a grey noisey, ugly color. Any ideas why this is happening. This is happening to all my pictures.

However, when I do this - the image does not paste in at the same size. It typically shrinks down in size. Do I have to save the file, close out and then open the new doc and PLACE it in the document in order for it to keep size? There must be a better way to do this. Basically, how can I drag a photo that is 4x6 over to a new doc while keeping the size at 4x6.

Dec 10, 2012I have PSE 11 and I am creating a Christmas theme with various pictures. I have my main photo with 6 layers including a tree and figures which I can move independantly and the background is the checkerboard as the main layers are turned off with only my selections showing. I also have another photo where I have selected part of it and also turned off the main layers leaving a small part with checkered background. When I have the main photo loaded and drag the other one from the photo bin with the move tool, nothing appears on the main picture. I have already dragged the Christmas tree in the same way and that worked. By the way, all the files are .PSD.

Photoshop Elements :: How To Take A Section Of Photo And Make It Whole Photo
Dec 10, 2012I have Photoshop Elements 10 which I work with sparingly. I would like to outline a section of the photo (a face) and somehow select it to be the whole photo - in other words to get rid of all background elements. I can outline the area with lasso, but do not know how to just save that area. When I save, the whole original photo is saved. I also tried the magic extractor, which really worked to make just the face and crop everthing else out, but it has a white background the same size as the original photo, which means it is essentially a reactangle with a face in it. I am trying to just get the face so I can paste it into a document, sort of like when people put heads on fake bodies. This is for a church newsletter. I have done this with my old Picture It software, but that was on my old computer. I think I should be able to do this with all the gadgets Photo Shop has, but I must be missing something.

But,When I try to save the quadtone image as a tiff, the option to do so isn't there. Only CPT, PSD and a few other options are avilable.
When I copy and paste the original image as a new object, it's also automatically converted to the quadtone of the layer beneath it.

Aug 4, 2011I am having troubles loading a .avi file into the diffuse color swatch.I am following tutorial which comes with 3ds max.(Animation Tutorials-Creating Explosions) There is a plane and i must load a video file with explosion (.avi) and assign that material to it.So i make new mateial,choose Bitmap on Deffuse color swatch and when i browse for the video file i can see it in the browse window but when i select it i cant click "Open". Also 3ds max comes with the tutorial files ready , so i tried to open the ready scene and in it , the plane is with assigned material on it,but the .avi file can not be seen, even when u render the scene.)
