My PSE 11 organizer will not stay open. My PSE 9 was working fine for a couple of years, but then for no reason I can determine when I hit the organizer button it started to open then closed down. So I uninstalled 9 and purchased 11, but same issue.
View 3 Replies......if it opens at all. laptop is above min spec for pse 10. sometimes it opens fine sometimes it gets to the selection screen and when you choose say ORGANISE, it shuts down sometimes it just doesnt open at all when it does it will only allow you to see a 3X2 view or lower in the organise screen, any more and you just get hour glasses this is a real bummer i have paid £100 for this and premiere which does the same errors that elements does i have been using elements since elements 3

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been using PSE 8.0 for three or four years now, and I have never experienced any problems with it. Today, after installed a Wacom Intuos Creative Pen Tablet, my PSE 8.0 would not open-- nor would Editor and Organizer. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program, renaming certain files (as read in other answers), creating shortcuts to bypass the Welcome Screen (which also will not appear), among other solutions that I read about for similar problems. Whenever I attempt to open Organizer, a crash report appears, stating that the program has quit unexpectedly--that's all it says. If I try to open PSE 8 or Editor, the circle next to my cursor appears for a moment, but soon it disappears without a single pop-up or explanation as to why the program won't open. Since I cannot access the Welcome Screen, I cannot locate the Preference file to change the name/delete it. If it matters, I use Windows 7.

The program was working fine until I tried to import my picture files into the organizer. Ever since, it has been shutting down like this.
I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalled it and the problem persists.
Installed PSE 11. OS is Win 7. Worked ok a short time then got message "PSE 11 stopped working". I try to open file from Orginizer into Expert Editor and only get a blank screen now. Tried all three ways of opening into Editor. (Works ok in PSE 9). What other info do you need to solve this problem? This is the second time this has happened. The first time I believe it corrected with out any action on my part.

View 7 Replies View RelatedEvery time I open Photoshop Elements Organizer it either crashes before opening or very soon after. I am able to use the editor, but not the organizer. I ahve removed all older versions, disabled my anti-virus software, and have uninstalled and reinstalled the program several times with no luck. I have a Dell Laptop with windows 7 - 64 bit operating system and dual quad processor. I have used several versions of Elements and have never had this problem before. The last version that I had installed and worked was version 8.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI just bought Adobe Elements Photshop and Premier 11. I spent 2 to 3 hours getting my picture video library into Adobe's organizer. I had some problems with duplicate picture (that I wanted to be there - so I had to rename them) and a couple pictures with corrupted metadata. After I got all that sorted out I am a bit miffed about the folder view on Adob'es organizer.
I love that you can switch to folder view - since this is how I have been organizing my pictures for a long time. I would like to continue organizing this way for now until I get a grasp on the other ways I can organize them in elements. However, every time I close and re-open organizer it switches back to the default view instead of folder view. there is a way to set folder view to the default view!
I'm using Photoshop Elements 11 Organizer and Adobe Bridge CS6 concurrently. If I have Bridge open to the same folder as PSE Organizer and I do an "Add captions ..." operation to a group of files selected in the Organizer, then there is a very good chance that PSE Organizer will rename one or more files to OriginalFileName_edTMP-1.extension and leave the renamed file in the directory rather than completing the update and returning the file(s) to their original name. In most cases my original files are Nikon .nef files with .xmp sidecar files, but I've also seen this happen with .psd files. The .nef files are generally large, averaging 35 Mb per .nef image and the .psd files are usually over 100 Mb. If PSE Organizer and Bridge are open to different folders then Organizer does not leave the renamed file. logical threading error in PSE Organizer where it does not consider that another application may be monitoring the folder and also opening the files, which is what Bridge does when it discovers that a file has changed (the addition of a caption changes the file contents.) This was also a defect in PSE Organizer 10.

I open it, it opens fine, then windows tells me photoshop has stopped working. I've restarted, re-installed and tried over and over, but it won't stay open for longer than 5 seconds. It'll open with F7 but as soon as I click on the image I'm working on, the Layers window closes! All the other windows seem to work OK. Did I mistakenly hit something to cause this to happen? It's almost like an automatic window closer.

By the way, Elements 9 is so defective, it will not even let me back up my organizer in 9. The 9 organizer would let me select a photo, bring it into the editor, print it and then it would crash... then I had to start all over again... the darn thing crashes as it was prone to problems that adobe ignored. Is it better to just re-load all the photos from a fresh folder that is on my desktop? There are 5,000 !

It always finds them, frequently the same, imports them and then tells me they're already in the Organizer. During this process, which may last 5-15 minutes, I can't use the program.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've noticed an annoying fact about PS CS6 that never happened in earlier CS versions: If I have a few files open at the same time, and I make a transformation in an image, then move on to antother image, maybe to edit something out of for the first one, when I return to the first image, the change I made is undone, and the image is back to where it was before the transformation. I haven't hit "undo" or any other command in hte interim-I just navigated to a different file and didn't touch the first one for a few minutes. Simply put: if I make a transformation such as rotating something or changing scale, then click on a different file, make changes there, then go back to the first file, it's as if I had never made the last transformation. I ddin't save the file, but why should I have to? I simply left it momentarily. It doesn't happen consistently, and it isn't a deal-breaker, but why does it happen at all? And how can I stop it?

The 'stop' segment within an action does not contain enough space and closes when the user continues to the next segment of the action. I'm trying to figure out how to get an 'info window' to stay open during the entire action- if the user needs to refer back to it.
This morning I was editing a photo with Paintshop x5. I rotated it; adjusted levels, and saved. Fine; then I went to resize it to make a smaller version for email. I suddently get a message from Windows (7) saying the program has stopped and that Windows will shut it down and there will be a message as to what might be the problem. Well, it shut it down; no message. Now I can't start up Paintshop x5; it stays open for a few seconds, then I get the same message.
Since it was working fine, I assume something got corrupted? Something I can remove? I am NOT looking forward to having to reinstall the program for no apparent reason.
WIndows 7 64bit; Dell Vostro 270, i3 3GHZ, 4 gig ram.
