When I ran Photoshop Extended (full) on my computer, it ran perfectly. But now that I purchased Elements 11, lag when moving the cursor through drop down menus. The cursor freezes up for a split second while I'm going through them, and does so repeatedly. I have the latest drivers for my graphics card. It's an AMD firepro 8900. I have an i7 with 16GB of ram. I'm on windows 7.
My photoshop elements 11 seems to be completly screwed up. The brush tools and/or healing tools that normally bring up a tool menu at the bottom of the screen have only half of the box visible. I cannot change the options because only half the box is shown or none of the options are visible. Its like only part of the code loaded what is spposed to appear.
The side menu is also missing parts in the very bottom left corner. It seems like it has something to do with the screen resolution on my macbook. But this is the only program that has the problem.
I have a retna display macbook 11.I am so frustrated with PE 11, and do not understand why everyone thinks itis so fantastic.
I just recently reinstalled CS3 on a new computer, and I noticed some things are different from the other CS3 I had installed.
The most annoying thing I noticed is when I left click on one of the toolbar icons (e.g Rectangular Marquee Tool) I get a drop down box showing the other Marquee tools, as if I right clicked it.
I just want to be able to left click and select the active tool, not be bugged to choose which tool every time I click a tool with a drop down list..
I was wondering if it is possible to do drop down navigation menus in PS? The kind where when you move your mouse over a rectangle navbar link another rectangle navbar opens up beside this one with a list of relevant links.
Can this be done in PS as a sort of rollover in image ready perhaps? Could you just create the second navbar and have it hidden in the normal state but visible in the rollover state? Or is there a better way to do this?
I am creating a new site to out line my web design business and I want to spice things up a LOT! I got close to the fire and realized that it was burning out of control with information I don?t currently possess. I want to create functional and appealing drop down menus without having to use much if at all possible no java script. I know you can accomplish this with style sheets but the problem is I don?t yet know how.
What I would ultimately like to accomplish is a horizontal drop down menu with multiple sub menus.
I'm having trouble with Photoshop CS6 in Mavericks. After a working a little while, all pop up/drop down menus goes blank. They still work, but I can't see what's on them. Even the Apple menu bar is afflicted by this, though only when Photoshop is in the front.
PS: I do use a cintiq on a 2012 Macbook Pro 15" with retina display.
I find one of the changes to the interface quite unfriendly for pen/tablet use. The drop-down menus for File, Edit, Image, and Layer are offset to the right of each menu item's live area. That means having to be extra careful when moving the cursor down the list so the menu doesn't accidentally snap closed. The remaining drop down menus are flush right with the item's live area, so they don't present the same problem.
I killed the annoying tabs feature and that doesn't affect the offset pull-downs. Illustrator has the same behavior, so I assume the offset behavior is consistenet through the CS4 applications. Nope. Bridge CS4 doesn't have the offset. Nor does Acrobat Pro.
It's nice that in an era of multiple and large displays that Adobe's interface designers were inspired to try and free up interface workspace. But a little interface design detail like this offset is a daily aggravation that doesn't have any benefit that I can discern.
I'm working on a simple website for my brother's company where the designers gave me several PSD documents to slice up and arrange into HTML, PHP or whatever I choose.
He'd like to do a drop-down style menu that "kicks out" horizontally to the right (please see attachments).
how to deal with this while keeping the look of the original look and feel? As I was slicing up the PSD, I thought about making a slice that is the size of the fully-extended menu (second attachment) and make it into its own table that defaults to the "background" image or conditionally (JavaScript on-click?) displays the images in a three-row table with the images hyperlinked as expected.
I'm sort of an old-school web developer who still tries to do most of my work in HTML, ASP and JavaScript (although I'm very interested in getting into some PHP).
I just installed AutoCadLT 2014 on my MAC using Parallels. In my pulldown menus for "Layers" , "Linetypes" , "Colors" etc the words inside and stacked on top of each other and I can only see fragments of the choices. They are also clipped horizontally as well.
How to change the size of the fonts within in these pulldowns and the width of the pulldowns themselves?
Whenever I click dropdown menus from my panels (for instance, "Arrowheads" or "Profile" from the Stroke panel), the dropdown menu appears at the top-left of my screen and not below my mouse. Is there a way to move them?
How to add/change/delete the menu items that appear in the drop down menus in the library? I see how you can add a new folder for Titles but not for the Transitions or Effects. Also, is there any way to change which filters appear for a particular menu selection?
I am a student working on a research project exploring the integration of LEED criteria with BIM software, and I am exploring the use of both Revit and Excel to accomplish this task. One major problem that I am running into though, is with Shared Parameters.
I have created a set of LEED-specific shared parameters in Revit. These parameters are things like "Plumbing Fixture Family," "Plumbing Fixture Type," "Ventilation Zone," "Refrigerant Use," etc... basically different parameters that will inform an Excel spreadsheet containing formulas to calculate, ultimately, the total points awarded for each LEED credit.
My problem, is that in Excel, the names of the values for these shared parameters need to be very specific in order for it to work with the formulas I have created. What I need from Revit is the ability to create a shared parameter with a drop-down menu containing a set number of options that can be applied to any component in a project, so this can be done early-on in Revit, rather than after-the-fact in Excel. Such as choosing the type of refrigerant used in HVAC&R equipment (and yes, you could just type the refrigerant type into a text parameter field, but if it's not typed exactly as it is in the pre-determined formula it is associated with in Excel, it will return an error in Excel, which is less than desirable - a drop down would reduce/eliminate the margin of error).
Is there any way to accomplish this task? From what I have found online, this is only slightly possible in Family Parameters - I haven't found anything about Shared Parameters.
I am sure i saw that somewhere but how do i get the icons to show back instead of the bare text list of the drop down menus? In the old versions, it was easier to find my way around if i had to change version and the list might not have been in the same order, or if i was making a tutorial and someone had a PSP in a different language; i could just display the icon instead of the name for the other person to be able to identify which tool i was talking about. But in later versions, they are gone. How do i get them back?
I installed Express tools when I installed 2010. when I type the "menubar" command the only thing that shows up is" Express". how do is get the rest of the drop down menus to show up?
In dialog boxes the drop down menus appear blank until I drag the mouse over it then the contents appear as I drag the mouse across. Also the cursor doesn't echo back (flash). I have tried updating drivers to no avail.
I'm working on a site for someone, and I would like to have a drop down menu for one of their navigation items. Using a javascript menu I downloaded called "Tiger Menu" the layers (as they always are) are in a fixed position starting from (0, 0).
Is there a way to create drop down menus using Image Ready allowing me to attach the drop-down portion to the image, and not in a layer?
After I choose open the pop-up menu appears and then disappears too fast for me to click on it.The program thinks the window is still open and is waiting for me to make a selection, so none of the options in any other other pull down menus are highlighted. I have to forgce quit the program.
I need assistance. How doI change the font size or sizes of menu options on photoshop elements 9 so I can see to use the program, everything is so tiny, even the X's to close out the program.
I am having the greatest dificulty adding a shadow eccect to my photo, the tutorial is nothing like the software I am using, I have made the layers the back ground then croped my immage made i wanted to place on the background but when I try and use the Shadow drop down feature the bos when i hit control T is not controling the shadow but a copy of the image i want the to be shadowed withthe shadow, I am only guessing at this point but I think what I need to do is have a layer that has the shadow only but I am at odds on how to do It! I have found a tutoral video on line but the software is nothing like what I have I am in trial but at this point I am quite agervated and may soon deside on another photo editing software. the effect i am trying to accomplish is place a dino at the lake with my grandson in it he loves dino dan and wanted to create a pic for him!
Everyone says to do Layer > Layer Style > Style Settings.
But when I go to Layer Style and try to get to Style Settings, Style Settings is greyed out. (The text in quesiton is already selected.)
In fact, I've tried everything possible to get Style Settings to become engaged and have not been able to do that.
Also, when I go into Effects and try to add cool effect (torn paper, glowing edges, etc.) to the text, it automatically changes the color of my text. For example, my text is orange and when I tried "glowing edges" it changed the text to olive drab... and it certainly didn't glow.
I have downloaded the software to my Mac desktop and I was then trying to transfer it to my Mac Pro Laptop as I successfully did with PSE 11 a year ago with no problems. However, with PSE12 when I transfer it with Air Drop they both go into my DL folder but when I click to open it says my file is not there.
I am running elements 10 on I-Mac with montain lion With a new blank page when I drag and drop from the Project Binto Panel bin the pic is black & white why
After downloading PSE11 and starting the trial version, all drop down lists are greyed out and locked....File, Edit, Windows, Layers, etc...all lists have the text in grey and are not available for use...I am not able to do or save anything.
I have tried opening an image and editing it...and still the same problem.
Trial versions are supposed to be fully functional...and yet nothing is functioning...
