I just downloaded photoshop elements 12 and imported photos from my picture library. The photos imported but lacked the image numbers that were set by the camera. Can these #s be imported also? I was using the #s to mark the photos I wanted to put in a special folder so with out them I would have to start over in elements

How can I import photos from cd's to Elements 8? I had to reboot my computer system and short of copying the photos from the cd to the computer and then to the sd seems to be the only way I have found. Is there a better way to imkport directly from the cd's?

I installed Elements 6 and imported the photos along with tags according the screen, but once the import is done less than 100 of the photos are actually tagged. It sees the folder and subfolder, but not the pictures, even though it imported all of the photos under other folders, and imported the pictures in My Pictures under the C drive. Recently I downloaded the PSE 9 program from a disk onto my new computer. When I opened it to use I am unable to find under "Organize" the "File", "Edit", "Find", "View", "Window" and "Help" on the upper bar/area. I uninstalled and reinstalled the program but still do not see those options. I'm just begining to learn about PSE 9, so am new to all this.
What am I missing or not doing exactly right that I'm have dificulty trying to view and use the above? I can start to use the program with photos download on my computer, camera or external hard drive.
I recently took a number of photos, which I then put onto my hard-drive in a temporary folder - so I could view them on the monitor using the ordinary windows viewer. A day or so later, I went into Photoshop Elements 11 and imported them into the catalog. I thought that by doing so I would copy them from the temporary folder into the "main" folder - the one where all the photos are imported to when I import them from the camera's memory card. So I then deleted the temporary folder. And then I found that the photos were not actually in the main folder after all. They had remained in the temporary folder, despite being added to the catalog (and where now deleted).
Is there a way to make PSE 11 move or copy the photos from a folder on the hard drive to the "main" folder?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been using Photoshop 5 with my Canon Digital Rebel and have had no problem uploading from the CF card. I recently purchased a Canon 40D. Photoshop will not allow me to upload from the CF card that is being used in the 40D.
Are there any settings changes that need to be made? Have not had problem before even when using Kodak and Fuji cameras.
I've been using Elements 4 for some time now. About 8500 picutre in my organizer. Searching for tags and by date seems to work nice for what I do.
I've recently got a Vista computer because of a failing hard drive. I've moved all of my pictures to the new machine.
I've instralled Elements 4 and Elements 5 on the Vista computer and neither pick up on the fact that the pictures have any tags.
I've read that the tags are not stored with the file. I would believe that except Vista media center pick up the tags on the files. So I assume the tags are with the file.
How can I get Elements to see the tags I've associated with each file?
I have both PS 4 and PS CS5.1 installed. A client gave me a Word file with embedded high resolution photos. When I copy them from Word and open a new file in PS4, the photo comes in at full resolution. If I do so in CS5.1, it's like a screen shot--72 dpi. Is there a way to have it be high res in CS5.1?

New user to PSE11. Is it recommended that ALL photos be in albums or is the idea that photos in albums are a subset of the photos in folders? With all the sort and search functionality, I don't understand the benefit of albums.I name my image folders using a standard naming convention with the date embedded so it makes them rather easy to manage.

When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
Why does LR4 not import ALL my photos from the selected folder on my portable hard drive? "Include Subfolders" is checked and "suspected duplicates" are allowed. The difference is about 10,000 photos per the info from Windows Exployer (approx. 175,000 vs 185,000 files). I can view the missing photos in exployer and not in LR4. I have tried deleting the catalog and starting from scratch. I have tried importing from subfolders. Sometimes I get different results, but not much different.

I installed it on my PC, on which also have LR3, made the adjustments I wanted in "focus Magic", then copied them to a disc. When I go to copy them into LR on my Mac, it won't allow it, as the photos "already exist" on the system. I have also tried this on different occasions for different reasons with the same result.
