I have a fairly large catalog with about 20 album categories, each with between 5 and 15 albums, totalling about 20,000 photos, all currently residing on my laptop. I need to move everything to a networked drive but can't find how in the Elements help system.

Photoshop does a lot " *. TMP" files when the program is started up. These temp files, I would have moved to another location.How can I do it?
I am aware that it is possible to define which file "Photoshop Temp11309645056" to be created and how I place it at his own request, but it is not these files I ask for positioning.
I want to move my entire photo collection from the 'C' Drive to a network drive that I recently installed. As a followup, I also want to access (add, enhance etc.) the same collection then with a laptop that also has Photoshop Elements V10 installed.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a PSE10 photo catalog and video catalog on my Win'7 64-bit PC. The catalog files are on my C drive (default location) and the media files are on a different internal "D" drive.
Each catalog currently resides in its own folder in the default location on C drive, and each catalog file is named "catalog.pse10db". It is curious that each file is identically named; I didn't do that, PSE did.
I want to move the photo catalog and video catalog to the internal "D" drive so that when I backup the D drive, the catalogs and media files are all backed up together.
How do I move my catalogs from the default location to a different location? I have read the "Backup and Restore Catalogs to New computer" info and think it may apply here, but I want to be sure before I try anything.
PSE11 on Win7. I have an album of images. Those images exist in a number of different folders. I would like to 'Move' them all to a new location. So all of the images would now be in the same folder.

The catlog for PSE was located on the same drive as a programs and even I have almost empty data drive I cannot install any more programs because there is not enough space on the drive for the programs.
Questions:
1. How I can move Catalog to another drive?
2. How I can configure from the start or re-configure PSE to have Catalog in another location/drive?
I'm in the process of moving 100+ dwg files physically, but cannot figure out how to update the drawing locations w/o recreating a Pre-Existing fully populated (names, drawing numbers, etc.) SheetSet. Here's what I want to do:
Move dwg files from one location to another & update the new physical location (Expected/Found/Relative/Full/UNC Path) in a copy of an existing dst.
I've tried moving the files, then updating the Expected Path from within the SSM, but this works on a file to file basis, and takes a long time to perform on a 100+ drawing SheetSet. I've tried using SSMPropEditor, but for some reason, the changes do not stick. The only way that I've found to accomplish this is to use the Archive function (as a folder instead of a ZIP file) from within SSM, but there has to be an easier way to do this...
BTW: I'm using ACAD 2010 on a Core i5 XP machine.

My problem is with a photo sent to me as an attachment to an email in another program (often Picasa). View 1 Replies View RelatedThis morning (10/25/12) after booted my system I had a notification that there was a set of updates to my Photoshop CS6 product set. I went ahead a did the updates which installed successfully. A few minutes later I started up Photoshop Elements 10. The start-up of PSE 10 appeared normal at first, but there was a lot of hard disk activity and the Organizer window would not respond when I tried to move the sliders. I started up Task Manager and could see that PSE 10 was continuing to use processor time. I killed PSE 10 and restarted it. I decided to let it run and so far it's been doing something for over 30 minutes. From time to time the window will flash and occasionally I get an hourglass icon to display over the window. I'm not able to move the window or shrink it. I guess I'll just let it run to see if it will ever become operational. My catalog has entries for about 40,000 images so I'm wondering if the Adobe update affected something in the catalog, although the update did not seem to include anything for PSE. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit edition with all the latest Microsoft updates.

My question is - I would like to use Shutterfly's more extensive selections for this book (found on their website) and the first activity required is to "get" the photos. They are not easily found even though I look in my "My Pictures" library. and Shutterfly's website does not show Elements Organizer as a source for getting photos to add. (even though they appear as an option under the "Share" portion of Organizer.

View 16 Replies View RelatedI have a large image collection, in excess of 40,000. I'm running on a PC with Windows 7 and all updates installed. I just purchased PSE 11 to replace PSE 10. After installing PSE 11 I converted my catalog. That seemed to go OK. At that point I discovered that my C: drive was almost full so I decided to move my image collection from its C: drive location to an external hard drive that had sufficient capacity. In order to ensure the integrity of the catalog I decided that I should use the PSE 11 Organizer to move the files. This would allow the Organizer to update the location information for the files as it moved them, although it was clear that this would take many hours to complete. So, using Organizer I did a "drag and drop" of my image collection's root file from the C: location to the external drive which happened to be the J: drive. Organizer appeared to be running properly so I left it to continue overnight. The next morning I discovered that only about 2/3 of the files had been moved. There was a very cryptic message that said the opertion could not be completed because of "possibly unsupported files types, files with read only attributes.." etc. I did not write down the actual message and it did not tell me where in the transfer the failure occurred. After doing some detective work I discovered that many folders and files had been copied to the J: drive that were not appearing in the Organizer catalog and consequently were not being displayed. Some folders had only a portion of their files copied. Fortunately, the files were still visible and cataloged on the C: drive. I did look at my files on the C: drive and there were some that for what ever reason had read only attributes.
The selected file, files, or folders should be copied to the specified destination. At that point they should be added to the catalog, then the files should be deleted from their original location and the catalog updated accordingly. If an original file is read only then it can't be deleted but the attempt to delete it should be reported as an inability to delete with no consequences imposed on the files that have been placed in their new location. The "problem" should not be promoted to the status of a serious or fatal error that causes only partial completion of the overall operation.
Sometimes it works. Lately it rarely does. I have tried holding the command key and this does nothing. Why can I not move objects anymore.

I lost sight of all the files so cannot add further images that I still have to 'organize'.
I am using element 9 and am having problems importing files into the organizer . It has imported most of my images (jpg) from other folders. One folder does not import. I get a message saying the files are not supported or already imported. All the files are jpg's and none have been imported. I have changed the names of some of the files and then they get recognized and imported. Is there a maximum character name for files? How can I tell what files are not supported? The pop up window giving this information is so small I can't read the list. I removed anything from the folder that was not a jpg in case the import process stop when it encounters a file it does not recognize.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI opened Photoshop Elements one day and all of my files are gone. I thought that maybe I had accidentally "archived" them somehow, but I can't find anything that I have ever edited in the Organizer. It's as if I just installed it yesterday. I even tried to search for files with the date range function and it says that there isn't anything from the date range I put in, which was over a year.
Did I tell the Organizer to do something that I am unaware of? Where did all of my pictures and video go?
