Photoshop Elements :: Editing Panorama - Greyed Out Filters And 8bit / Channel

Apr 28, 2013

I finished editing my panorama in adobe photoshop elements 11 and want to add a filter to it, however, the filters are all greyed out. Not only that, but the 8bit/channel option is also greyed out. The picture is RGB/8.

Photoshop :: Greyed Out Filters With Smart Object Channel

Nov 27, 2013

Using Photoshop CC I cannot apply any filter to a converted layer into a Smart Object if I select only a channel instead of RGB channel..Let me explain it with an example:

I create a new layer.Convert it into smart layer (vía menu Filters > Convert… or secondary clic hover the layer, it doesn't matter).

Select only one channel, p.e. green channel.Try to apply a filter… oh, wait! They all appears greyed out

This NOT happens in previous versions of PS, like CS6 or CS5. Neither if I select RGB channel.It happens on 8 bits or 16 bits.

Illustrator :: Save AI Patterns With 8bit / Channel?

Jun 27, 2012

I would like to create seamless greyscale patterns in AI CS6 by using typical Vector-Tools, Gradients and Transparency.Output however needs to be 16Bit/Channel RGB - 256 greys are clearly not enough on the Gradients, they would lead to nasty artifacts in the intended field of use explanation here.I realize that AI is 8bit and that internal Image-Conversion from Vector clearly was no option.The underlying question for me is - does AI also internally work with just with 256 shades of grey in its gradients too?Or was there theoretically a way to pass smoother Vectors over to PS which in contrast to AI can save 16 bit Gradients?All I tried thus far (importing AI though Clipboard as Shape-Layers/Smart-Objects) yielded unusable results for what I'm after.

Lightroom :: Panorama - PS CS6 Doesn't Show Editing

Apr 23, 2013

I'm on Lr, edited some files to get a panorama, clicked on "edit in" then "merge to panorama in photoshop. All right until there. The problem is that once clicked it switchs to Ps CS6 and merging the pictures in a panorama but without the editing I did before in Lr (white balancing, lens correction and so on). I mean that Ps creates a panorama starting from the original pictures as if the pictures were not edited in Lr while I would like that - as I always did - Ps starts to work from my Lr's editing. I think that it is something about settings.

Photoshop :: CS5 - Editing Alpha Channel

Aug 3, 2013

Once I create an alpha channel, how do I edit it?  I have tried selecting and clicking the alpha channel, and then using the paintbrush tool.  I understand that if I have a white foreground, painting should remove some of the mask, while a black background should result in the painting adding to the mask.  But often nothing seems to happen when I paint.  Or, at other times, the painting results in paint marks on my image but doesn't affect the "marching ants" and therefore doesn't affect the mask. I have already checked that my K setting in Color is at 0 for white and 100 for black.  Using CS5 version 13.0 x64 with Windows 7.

Photoshop :: Editing Alpha Channel

May 22, 2009

I am looking for a mean to edit (not create and then edit) an already existing alpha channel in a PNG file (for example). Here is the scenario:load a PNG file with a existing transparency layer created with some other application ( I see the usual checker board behind some transparent regions of the image)select a region ( lasso, rectangle, ....)change the transparency (alpha) of those pixels only, do not change anything else in the reste of the image (ex: make a region more transparent or more opaque). I do not want to edit the RGB content of the pixels, I want to edit their alpha value directly.save back the file to a PNG file with modified alpha value.

Photoshop :: Editing Channel Mixer Adjustment Layer Creation Dialogue Settings

Aug 25, 2012

WIndows 7 x64   |   PS CS6. Just now while attempting to edit a Channel Mixer adjustment layer's creation dialogue settings, about 15 browser windows (not tabs but individual windows) trying to load Adobe docs all popped opened simultaneously.Killed Firefox's process and went back to PS.Every time I went back to PS though, it would happen again, when I clicked in the Channel Mixer settings.

Got out of the loop by mashing the ESC button as I switched back to PS, which successfully killed the Channel Mixer dialogue.I've seen this behavior in PS for about 4 versions now, but never this severe. How dysfunctional.

The "light" photos some "pin-up" technique, I am guessing. (Moti Malul Photography):

Photoshop Elements :: Cannot Fill In Edges Of Panorama

Oct 10, 2012

When creating a panorama in Elements from a number of photos, I consistently get the following error message: “Would you like to automatically fill in the edges of your panorama?” When answering “Yes” I get the following message:

“Could not fill because there is not enough memory (RAM)”. I tried making a panorama of 2 images (total size 6.3MB) and didn’t get the message. Adding one additional photo (total size 7.4MB) I got the message once again.

This message occurred with Elements 9 so I doubled the amount of RAM and got the same message. Now I have upgraded to Elements 11 and continue to get the same message. Is there a fix?  Is the 6.3MB size the limitation for creating the panorama?

Photoshop Elements :: Photomerge Panorama Not Working In 11?

Oct 16, 2012

I cannot make the photomerge panorama function work in elements 11. It simplygenerates the standard Window 7 error message and when it can't find a solution the program closes. In previous versions ( 9 and 10) it always worked and never caused a problem.

Attempting to rebuild the preferences file as suggested for a similar problem affecting earlier versions was also done but to no avail. Its a function I use quite frequently so until it is resolved I will keep using version 10.
