When I try to print a jpeg image from PE it goes to the "send fax" mode of my HP Photosmart Premium Printer/Fax/Scanner/Copy/Web. On the print screen that comes up I have two items listed i.e. fax and printer. I highlight the "printer" but it still reverts to the "send fax" mode.
View 1 RepliesI am trying to print a photo on my Canon MX870 that has been edited (cropped and a few slight lighting changes) in Elements 9 , the colours look good on the screen but when I print it looks different, . I have the colour settings from the Edit menu set to "always optimize for printing". The file information shows the camera data as colour space sRGB.
I am using canon inks (all full) and canon matte photo paper and I selected the matte photo paper on the paper type in printer settings.
I have printed good photos before on this printer (I think using photo gallery) but was not using photoshop elements at the time. Does it make any difference if the photo is saved as a jpeg file or a pse file?
I was given an image of a painting by my boss and told to isolate the figure, then use said figure in a standard step-repeat print.

the image itself is a high resolution because it needs to be, so not surprisingly it keeps making illustrator crash. the print needs to happen, and it needs to become a swatch so I can apply it to tee shirts, hats etc. so far this has been completely impossible.
can i use photoshop elements to convert a CR2 image to JPEG?

View 4 Replies View RelatedFor several years I have been managing my photos in iphoto and using PSE as an external editor for editing images. I currently use PSE 11 on an iMac with OS X Lion (version 10.7.5). My iPhoto Library is divided into a number of sub-libraries via iPhoto Library Manager. I have unexpectedly encountered a problem attempting to edit a RAW image (in this case a .NEF image from a Nikon D200) in a sub-library containing images shot in 2007. When I right click on the image and select Edit in External Editor the image opens in PSE 11 Editor, but it opens as a jpeg and not as an .NEF image. This is in spite of the fact that in iPhoto/Preferences/Advanced/RAW Photos I have checked "Use RAW when using external editor."
As an alternative approach I tried dragging and dropping the RAW image into the PSE 11 Editor icon in the Dock, but I got the same result.
When I import JPEG files to Organizer, the resulting thumbnails show up as opague with an hourglass symbol.
I previously imported hundreds of JPEG files and those thumbnails were always visible. My organizing has been brought to a standstill.
I have opened a jpeg as Camera Raw (7.3) and adjusted it and wanted to save it as jpeg, but the only option is *.dng?

Lightroom is running on MacPro. When printing I am attaching an ICC profile provided by the bureau that is going to produce the prtins. Having said this the file cannot be opened neither on a Mac nor on a Windows PC.
Up until now, i used to exported as TIFFs but after reading Jeff Schewe book The Digital Print i have become convinced that printing through LR to a file is much more efficient.
I have just installed Elements 12. I went to open some jpeg images. They appear in the Photo Bin but can't be made to appear in the main window. The Layer Panel shows the background copy of the images.

I want to upload an image of this book cover to various web sites that require a Jpeg image and the book cover has to cover at least 85% of the image and require a pure white back ground. Now, there is a blue box that doesn't move and the image is cut off by the bounderies if you drag it away from center. The images are artwork for buttons (to be used in button-making machine) so the dimensions must be exact on the duplicated images. When I select Picture Package, the images are resized to fit the dimensions in the picture package. When I select Contact Sheet, the images are resized to fit the number of columns I selected. Neither is acceptable. How can I repeat the same image on a single piece of paper without having the system re-size the image? I know that I can manually create a new PSE file and manually insert the images into this file. This is what I have been doing as a work-around.

But, when printed on a color laser printer the sky has a somewhat orange cast. I have been told that when sending my JPEGS to my PRO lab that I can save them with a JPEG image quality of 10 instead of the maximum of 12. They say that there is no difference in the 10 versus the 12 in print quality. Is this true or are they just telling me this to save capacity and space on their server? The bulk of my print sizes are in the range from 4x6 to 8x10. Why are there 12 quality options to choose from? What are the differences from low, medium, high and maximum?
