View 1 RepliesAfter I made a selection and then go to modify-Border, the border comes out feathered. Is there a way to create a hard edge border around an image or layer? Also what's the easiest way to create a border around a type layer?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI would like to place a thin white border inside a photo..then I would like to erase a small portion of that border along the verticle side to put my name. I think there is a frame within PSE 11 that does this but I can not find it. I tried to add an example by going to insert photo but I don't think it worked.

Ideally the border would be better 'outside'. Once I have a method, I could of course make the border a bit fancier by adding another thinner one outside it.
I use PSP8, but reckon I could adapt methods suggested for later versions.
I have an image that has a transparent background and a thick black border across the top.
When I go to Save for Web and select a white matte, it adds a ~1px white border to the top of the image. Why is it doing that and how can I get it to stop (other than adding white layers for the background).?
And where is 4-up?
What I need to do is find an easy way to remove the white spacing around an item and have the item displayed tight to the edges.
For example: I need a quick and easy way to turn this into this
With the intention of then being able to resize the image to the exact dimensions I require before then resizing the canvas size to create the exact amount of white spacing between the tops and bottom of the image.
I like the photocollage where the images are all tilted, but I would like to use about 12 images instead of just 8. How do I add additional image boxes?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have PSE7. I would like to know how I can add a drop shadow to an image in between the image and the color block.
Below is the image that I am using. I would like to add a shadow from the image on the left to appear on the purple color block.
I have a photo onto which I have superimposed another image, in a separate layer. That separate image was precisely drawn using the magic wand. Is there any way I can add some transparent area below that image?
My application is I am creating a GIF movie in which that image will be moved around on the main image like a sprite / puppet.I need the section of the image that I place the mouse on to control movement to be invisible to the part of the photo that is being turned into a GIF/video. Effectively, I am looking to build a "puppet" that I can control outside of the formal stage area, and the extension to the image is my means of controlling how the sprite is moved around.
I click on the 'T' to type text and color the text, say, orange; if I then try to add a black outline to it in Edit | Stroke I notice that 'Stroke' is greyed out.
How can I add that black border around the letter(s) .
So I select the octopus in the picture using magic wand, then I try to add a black border around it.. and it just won't work. I don't understand.

I've seen several ways to do this, but none seem to work on 6.0. using 6.0 . I tried a few ways explained on higher versions but I can get it to work.

i would love to be able to create a single photoshop action for adding a border, plus a signature in the bottom right corner, that works for both portrait and landscape images.
need i say more?
i already have an action that adds a signature in the centre of the border at the bottom of the image e.g. the image below. what i want though is for that signature to be on the RHS and for the same action to work for portrait images as well.
supplementary info: reason for this is that I want to be able to export 300 wedding images (mix of landscape and portrait images) from lightroom in my pre-selected order (meaning the files are labelled from 001 to 300, ordered according to how the wedding day unfolded) and then use PS to add the border and the signature, in the same place, and for it to work for both orientations.
i need this to work for full sized exported jpeg images, i.e. i want the files that i give on CD to my clients to include my signature in this manner. so I don't want to copy the initial layer and then reduce the second layer size to leave a border around the second layer.
i hope i've been clear I think that this sort of presentation makes such a difference to final printed image, and I DONT want to have to go to all 300 images picking out the landscape from portrait ones (although this may be what I have to do and wouldn't really take that long but surely there's a better way!!!!).
I used select by color to select this STEELERS word logo from this image below:
Now I cut and pasted it to a youth flag football team pic in the corner. But because I captured some of the sky in the background, the yellow STEELERS logo kind of blended in at that point as seen here (I cropped out the team and am just showing the corner):
Is there a way to select this logo by color and at the same time maybe widen that selection by a few pixels to capture some of the black around the STEELERS logo so that when I transfer it to the team pic, it stands out more by essentially creating a border around it?
Ive found a way to create a border, just adding the 3d extrude tool, and it works quite well, however adding a drop shadow to the image looks cool to. I have exported the image as a jpg, however on my siote there is this white background. How do I lose this?

For example:
C:Documents And SettingsNameLocal SettingsTemporary Internet FilesContent.Outlook6MI84FY33435_M_56_01 - Heating Ground Floor
This is something that I have seen in my previous employers drawing sheets but I would now like to add one to my own sheet.
I have looked into Plot Stamp command but this just seems to give me options for the date or tab name and not where the drawing is saved.
If I'm in the layout view, I want to add a Title Border. All of my layout previews are default in Landscape. When I use the Title Border (via the ribbon) and go thru the options, it seems that my only choice is a A4 PORTRAIT border with title block.
Now my preference is to use a landscape orientation, but I can't get it to work yet.
I resize and image, Photoshop "brightens" the borders, Why? I would like to just shrink an image, but it adds a one pixel border to the image that is lighter in color than all the pixels next to it making it blatantly obvious that its there. What could that conceivably be useful for, and how do I resize an image without it doing this?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have just created a background image at 800x600 to use as my webpage background.
I want to create a border around it as its not quite the full screen size.
I will then just use a background colour in DW.
How would I now add a border to this image?
I'm trying to script a simple action. I would like to make a frame matte around an image, fill it with black, then make a white stroke around the image but have it a few pixels away from the image itself... like this:
Attachment 18286
What I normally do is just create a shape on a layer underneath the image that is the exact size of the image... then transform that shape adding a specified amount of pixels (percent doesn't work, it comes out uneven) to each value. Now, this would be fine if all my images were the same size... but I need to be able to add a set number of pixels... say 10... to an arbitrary set of dimensions (changes each time I crop).
I want to put a old TV as the border for my gif animation. I deleted the tv screen and made it transparent, but I have no clue how add it as a border. My animation has over a 100 frames so it would be impossible to line them all up evenly.

the image background is white and the border is black.
I use Photoshop CS2.
I have a photo that's placed on a larger background. I want to create a 2 pixel white border around the photo. I've tried using the rectangular tool but this doesn't work, I need it to be more precise, how do I do this exactly?
View 1 Replies View RelatedHere's the thing happens :
1- BEFORE (a clean cutted image) :[URL]....
2- Using a plugin : (also with others): [URL]....
3- AFTER (white border) : [URL]....
This is so interesting.I use ''knockout2, remask3'' for cutting and ''Imagenomic Portraite'' for retouching. That never happened in CS4 32-bit.
Now i use CS6 64-bit and whenever i APPLY an effect/filter (include PS's Refine Edge) or plugin, there happens a strong white border/line on the image.
I can delete it by using so many ways like ''contract'' but it kills the details.
why is that happening? This must be an option or something cuz it never happened in any other photoshops that i used.I used the same plugins.
I need to cut a car image out of a picture and insert it with a wildlife background but i must be able to place the car pic in a certern position in the background.
1.I was able to cut the image out using the pen tool then seleting new layer and then pasting in there. Now I want to make the pic a bit smaller (like click on the image and move the mouse in to make it smaller) But just not winning.
2.How can I open a new background image in the same project. when ever i click new it opens a new project and when i select new layer and copy and paste the image i want to use as a background it views as a thumbnail.
3. is it possible to blend the car image with the background like t is a origanal.
4. Oh and sorry is there a easy way of cutting a image then the pen tool my hand is not steady and i always seem to cut into the image or way out .
When saving a file with a solid, dark blue background as a JPG in PS CS4, it's producing a very faint border around it. On a web page, it needs to blend into a background that has the same color as that of the JPG; but it shows the faint borders. It also shows it when saving the file as PNG-24. How do you get rid of the border? What's causing this?
