How do i create a shape and stick part of a picture in it? i.e. if i create a star shape (to look like and ornament) and then i want to put a few faces in the star. i sure this is elements 101, but i can't understand the manual and trial and error is getting me no where.
View 2 RepliesJust imported over 400 photos from my camera and my cellphone and, for some completely unknown reason, PSE9 has chosen to change the dates of those images so, now, my photos are completely messed up and are not in anything like the correct chronological order. Some dates on the camera and the cellphone are correct and some are incorrect so it's not even one device! I've checked my camera and my cellphone and both have the correct dates on them but, for some reason PSE9 is showing different dates, and it's not even today's date!
What PSE9 is doing, and how to rectify it, at the moment, I feel like uninstalling the whole system and using a different package!
I would like to use a vector object made in AI as a custom shape to be used as a cookie cutter in elements.. I imported the AI file in photoshop but the "define custom shape" entry under "edit" was grayed out.

For example, I had the image below posted online to sell these pants. I sold the bottom left pair, and tried for an hour to figure out how I could just cut out that corner, but was unsuccessful.I didn't want to erase or fill the spot, I wanted to cut it out completely, leaving a backward "L" shaped canvas.I can't believe this isn't possible, seems like it would be a very useful tool. I thought I could lasso any shape and cut it out, but the canvas remains a rectangular.I ended up filling the spot, but it's ugly - color sample was taken from carpet, but it filled with grey.
Is it possible to edit arrows that I have inserted into psd's?

I noticed that the Style box to the right of the color box on the top bar had a white box with a red line through it. I then chose Simple Outer from the drop down box and it still will not fill. It seems to be missing an important tool (for me) that I can't seem to find. I don't know the official name but I called it a "vector" tool. View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I select a color for text and shapes, the software defaults to shades of gray, although black and white are available. I use the eyedropper to select red on the pallette, for example, and the red box is framed. But the color sample on both the menu bar and the tool bar sets to gray. Is there a swicth somewhere that inhibits red, green, blue, etc.?
I even reinstalled the program, thinking I had a glitch--no change. The color selection had always worked in the past.
I have set up one new album in Organizer, but cannot add pictures. The Import button is greyed out, and I can find nothing in the toolbars that is not also greyed out.

I would select a picture right click the mouse and open the picture with Adobe Photoshop Elements 5.0 Then I would enhance the picture and resize the picture to 950-733 pixels. I would then go to file and put "Save As" when the prompt came up I would put in example bus-1 and hit ok I would go up top and close back to my pictures. When I would write an email and attach the picture I could identify it as bus-1 and it would be resized to 950--733 pixels for emailing. But now when I Save as all of the pictures come up in that file and I cannot find Bus-1. It must have changed and I don't know why.
