I would like to be able to tag a photo (ie: many photos at one time) with a KEYWORD tag for a place and then be able to find those photos on the map under the PLACES tab.

In Photoshop 12 attempt to associate by dragging a photo in the Organizer Media screen elicits message "Error applying Keyword Tags". View 3 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to PSE 12. So now all my organisation folders are under the "keyword" tag. And I have a lot of them. Of course they are organized in folder/subfolders. And the main ones are "places" "events". The same as the default ones in pse.
So is it possible to move categories/directories from the keyword tag to event/place/people tags (drag and drop doesn't work).
How do I associate *.psd files with PSE11? I've tried associating them with:
C:Program Files (x86)AdobeElements 11 OrganizerPhotoshop Elements 11.0.exe
But everytime I click a .psd file, it tries to import the file into the Organizer (even if it has already been imported). I would rather start the editor, or the welcome screen.
Photoshop Elements wants to use Google Maps to identify 'Places', and allocating place names in the Organiser. Some of the names are not what I want, and in an English Edition are even coming out in arabic script. How do I rename the place names or, even better enter them manually?

New places-tags are indicated with a small icon in the thumbnail.view, but not GPS-tagged and manually tagged pictures from PSE9 and earlier. It is very hard to see which pictures are already tagged when this does not work !
View 7 Replies View Relatedafter making my first steps in the world of RAW-photography with lightroom, I wanted to add the ability to edit digital photos. After comparing my options, I decided to choose Elements 12.
As I already had some keyword-tags in Lightroom, I imported them to Elements - so far, so good. But what I did not find so far was the possibility to "import" my GPS-tagged metadata into the places-tags. Seemingly I have to retag them again, which is annoying, but would be a reasonable way for existing photos. When going on a photo trip, I currently use a GPX-tracklog to easily add the necessary GPS-information via lightroom. Is there any way to do so in Elements 12? I wonder what is your workflow when adding GPS data to your photos?
Have successfully imported ‘Places’ sub-categories and tags structure to PS12 from an earlier version but cannot now add to them. How do I insert new sub-categories and tags under ‘Places’? There is no geographic data for existing tags and I am not interested in adding it. Wish to continue as before (there are a lot of tags).

So, shutterfly told me to save my Adobe pictures to my computer and then upload from there. But I can't seem to do that, just save to Adobe.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOld PC Windows XP with PSE8. New PC Windows 8 with PSE11.I did a backup and restore operation. After the restore, there was a large list of files that could not be restored. I also noticed that there were a large number of thumbnails with a question mark attached.
I did a reconnect using FindAll missing files. Instead of placing the recovered files in their original path and folder location, they ended up in an entirely different path in the Folders View. I tried to drag the folders back to their original location, but got the message: folder with that name already exists at the requested location, even though it wasn't visible. In addition some of the folders involved were no longer visible in either path structure.
I checked in the My Folders View, and it showed that the folders involved in the reconnect were still intact. I opened one or two and found they contained the original missing images.How can I get the folders and their images back to their correct places in the original path structure?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently upgraded from PSE 6.0 to PSE 12. Apparently, my tags DID move, since I can sort photos in PSE 12 by tag. However, if I right click on a photo which I know has tags (because it was in a sort by tag), the Remove Keyword Tag option is grayed out. I find no way to see which tags are attached to a given photo. On the other hand, if I right click some pictures, the Remove Keyword Tag is not grayed out, and I can see at least one tag that is attached to the file. (I'm using Windows Vista.)

View 13 Replies View RelatedLong, long, keyword hierarchy. Clicking on a keyword takes the focus back up to the keyword filter box. Usually happens if I've used the filter box to narrow down the keywords that are visible. Continues even after the filter box has been cleared. Doesn't happen all the time though. It is a real pain when trying to double click a keyword to edit it as the first click or the double click causes the list to refresh showing only the top entries. The second click (of the double click) then causes whatever keyword is now under the pointer to be keyword to be edited - NOT the keyword under the pointer when I started the double click.
I've seen this happen in both LR3.0 and LR3.2RC.

I'm new to LightRoom and am glad to have found this great resource. Onto the issue at hand:
An ongoing office project is using LR3 to catalog 30 years' worth of images gathered from various media. Some are scans of slides, negatives, or prints; others are images straight from a digital camera. We have three people working on this cataloging project. The lead guy has created keywords on his computer that he uses to tag these images. Is there any way to make sure the keywords he's using on his machine sync with and are available to the other users of the image catalog? If not, is there a file that would have to be shared among the three users to make that functionality happen?

If I am in Library module, select filter Metadata, select Keywords from dropdown (no other filter panels selected), and start to scroll down the list of keywords, I can select keywords by mouseclick, and see the matching photos as thumbs in the main window.
However as I scroll further down, I can no longer select keywords - the mouseclick no longer highlights or selects. This happens rather incosnsistently - by which I mean, the point in the eyword list where the select stops working is not always the same place in the keyword list.
If I click several times on the same non-selecting keyword, LR4.4 jumps to taking 50% (exactly) of processor time (shown in task manager) , and the memory usage climbs steadily until all free RAM is consumed.
This is a small (~8000 image) catalogue, with ~2500 keywords, entirely non-hierarchical.
The catalogue is set to optimise on backup, weekly.
I've tried deleting and recreating the preferences file btw to no avail
How do I turn off the keyword tag "Smart tags"? I do not want an automate Smart tags on my images.
