Gimp v 2.8
Not sure when this started happening since the last time I used Gimp was about a week or so ago and everything was fine at that point... Now when I open these ".xcf" files I've been working on in Gimp I see this strange Blue Scribble that is showing in the same location for pretty much all the xcf files I opened.
I went through every layer in the "Layers" window and made each one NOT visible in an attempt to see if it was something on one of the layers, but it remained there even after ALL layers were no Longer visible. I also created a new xcf file, saved it, then re-opened it in Gimp and NO scribble was there...
If I export one of the files showing the Blue Scribble into any other format and then re-opened it in Gimp the Blue Scribble is gone too.
I'm using GIMP 2.6.11 on Windows 7 x64. As you can see from the following screen shot, the menu's text is black on blue highlight, which makes it very hard to read. I'd like to know how to fix it. Funny thing is, it doesn't happen on Windows XP.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to change a template from black, to a shade of blue. Rather than just filling everything in and having it look choppy, I'm selecting each pixel with the global Magic Wand and matching the exact transparency. Is there a more efficient way to do this? A plugin, maybe?
View 4 Replies View RelatedComputer is Windows 7 x64 running adobe CS6. The printer is a HP laserjet 3800dn the driver for the printer is PCL5 but it does the same thing printing with the Postscript driver. We have a navy blue color that prints out black for some reason. In the print options right before releasing the job we changed the use Illustrator colors to use Post script colors and it still does the same thing....Prints black where blue is supposed to go on the document. Doesn't matter if it is a .jpeg or plain text. Sending the job to a different printer works which is a Xerox work centre.

Then when I send it to the laser, it is not there!( laser engraver or the printer). I just want the text to be normal, like it was 2 days ago! Before, I could click anywhere, type, and it showed up with no problems!

View 6 Replies View RelatedSo I was using Photoshop (CS5) when I was told that our power would have to be momentarily turned off due to work being done in our kitchen. Anyway, I saved my project and closed photoshop and then the power was turned off (I did not properly shut down Windows).
When I got back onto Photoshop I tried opening the project I was working on to find that all of the layers were gone and it only showing a black background canvas. When I click on the project once in the open window, it shows a thumbnail of the image as it should be and how it was saved, but when I open it it only shows a black background.
I do have another copy from not too far back but I have lost a few hours of work which I'd obviously prefer not to redo.
I have been experiencing a 2" black or white square while zooming that stays on image at that zoom ratio. I use Topaz Adjust and NIK software. If I save file and reopen it's gone!

View 1 Replies View RelatedSometimes it appears that the white/black color combination that is automatically selected in layer mask editing may override the selected color combination outside of layer mask editing.
Example:
1) Open Photoshop.
2) Select two colors: white/white.
3) Create two blank documents, each with an empty Layer 1.
4) In one document, add a layer mask to Layer 1. The colors should have been automatically switched to black/white as the layer mask is selected.
5) In this document, use the gradient tool to fill the layer mask with black/white.
6) Switch to the other document, and notice that the color selection is again white/white.
7) In this other document, use the gradient tool to fill Layer 1. Notice that the layer is filled with black/white instead of white/white as selected.
