Is there any way to make the cursor in the liquify tool be a little thinner and loose the cross hairs? I am having accuracy issues and if I could see more of what I am moving it would work. I an using and Intous 3 tablet but also have the same issue with the mouse.
I have tried zooming in but that does not seem to work when trying to adjust very small areas. If the cursor cannot be changed, any tips or tricks?
Also the size adjustment for the cursor is does not appear to be linear and increases or decreases in size in very large jumps especially when using the slider but also with the [ and ] keys.
I am using Photoshop CS5 on a Macbook Pro Retina Mountain Lion. When I use the liquify tool, I want the cursor to NOT display. So I can liquify without seeing the crosshair or circle.
recently I've upgrade to Photoshop CS6.All works great, but Liquify filter. Well, filter works great (new mercury engine is awesome!) but something happened to cursor.Look screenshot below.
Using PS CS5 I have not problem checking "Use GPU" option in Preferences panel; and with it checked PS CS6 works great, except Liquify cursor. If I uncheck this option, Liquify cursor looks normal.
Curser is dragging across the image and distorting even when not clicking on it. is the proxy image in the dialog box adjustable? the resolution is to hight. I have 16G of ram so thats not the problem. (it works ok on smaller low res images)
The Photoshop CS liquify tool is different from the Photoshop 7 liquify tool, in that it's extremely touchy. Changing the brush pressure (like in Photoshop 7) does not tone down the effect for Photoshop CS. I can not even begin to approach the precision I had with Photoshop 7, while using CS.
When I try to use the liquify tool on a layer that I'm working on, it only shows the layer in this blueish color and I can't see what I'm doing until I hit the "ok" button.
I am facing a very similar problem as the user on this thread:

Essentially when I open up the liquify tool, even if I just press cancel, Photoshop will just freeze and I have to kill the process manually. I suspect it is a video card issue, so I checked and ensure the laptop is using the latest driver. Mobile Intel® 4 Series Express Chipset Family (driver version: 8.15.10.2869, ig4icd64.dll)
Since I am already running the latest driver, what else can I do to rectify this problem?
Liquify doesn't work at all. It literally does nothing no matter what settings I try! I have a mac, all of my software is updated..The brush pressure option is locked and it is set to 1?
When I try to use the liquify tool, first the image is upside down when loaded into the box. Then when I try to liquify and move it shows the move how it should be if the picture was in the right position.
Ex. I'm trying to mess with someones face and it puts their shirt in the face area because it should be the other way around. I tried to rotate the image and it still doesn't work.
I have adobe photoshop elements, and im getting more experienced with it, trying new things. I want to know, is it possible to magnify an image in the liquify tool so that i can manipulate it with more detail? Is there any way to make an image bigger in the liquify tool?
When I have a none vector tool active for example the brush tool and I press and hold the Ctrl key down I see the cursor change from the current tool to the move tool cursor. If I presses and hold the Alt key I see the cursor change from the current tool to the eyedropper tool. If I press and hold both the Ctrl+Alt keys a see a cursor icon change to an icon that has two up pointing Arrow heads one Black the other White. What tool is that cursor for? It seems to copy and move the current layer and move its position over the canvas.
i'm using photoshop cs5 and the huion h610 graphic tablet.when i try to use the liquify tools with the pen i get on my cursor a circle that progress over time as long as i press the pen, and when its filled up the action is canceled...when using the mouse i don't have this issue.
I updated my PS to 13.03. I saw an Adobe video saying now Liquify Tool can have a smart filter so I want to give it a try. I couldn't get my Smart Filter working for Liquify Tool.
I converted my RGB image to Smart Filter under Filter menu. I then tried to choose Liquify Tool but this option is disabled. Is my version 13.03 still not up-to-dated.
cs6 liquify tool has no cross in the center of the circle, how to fix it?? It was working before with a small cross in the circle, but one day the cross is gone!??
Photoshop crashes every time I try to use the Liquify tool. Fairly problematic. I should have the latest drivers, which eliminates what might otherwise be the most likely cause. This happened during beta as well, but I chalked it up to it being a beta version. Did not happen with CS5.5 or previous.

I have an image open and try to use the liquify tool in filters. It opens and then after attempting to use the tool, It freezes completely. Cant even get out of it or close it at all.
I used the liquify tool on a selected area of a picture and it worked fine. Well, now when I select my area and try to use it, it just slightly warps the area and does nothing else. The liquify screen and options never come up. I think it's just repeating what I did in liquify the last time I used it instead of giving me the option to do what I need to do. It just won't let me do ANYTHING with the tool other than the warping(what I think is the "repeating" of the previous uses effects) everything else in photoshop is working fine for me, this is the only problem I'm having. Before this, it would just crash when I tried to open liquify but I fixed that by changing the video codecs/plugins to the ones that work with it so that is no longer a problem, it doesn't freeze or anything. So why is it just repeating what I did last time?
What is the equivalent of the liquify filter and freeze tool? if we use other software like paint shop pro which has no liquefy filter, so can we download it separately.
Say I wanted to reduce someones chin or fat stomache! or straighten their nose. In photopshop I would go straight to liquify - is thier an equivalent or some plugin or techniuqe to use instead?
I just got a tablet for drawing web comics in photoshop and in trying to draw with the pen tool i cannot hardly see the stupid cursor as it is some sort of tiny cross hair. Is there any way to make the cursor bigger or change it to something else so i can see it?
My cursor suddenly does not change with the selection of tools when working on photos. Once I roll over the picture the arrow is lost and becomes a strange 3 small things, so can't do any work accurately. Still using PS 7 in Win 7. This was not a problem previously. Already uninstalled and reinstalled and problem is still there.
Working away in ps cs5 and click on the direct selection tool and all I get is the hand (move) tool and what ever tool I click on I just get the hand tool! This happened in indesign too.
It goes back to normal if I reboot and just found that when i opened illustrator while having this prob in ps and then went back to photoshop the problem rectified.
Whenever I use the text tool the cursor and symbols and so on are always on the left and when I try and use a symbol they are put at the start of whatever I type.
- Reset Text tool. - Make sure type preference is on default.
I am using Windows 7 Professional 64. I have disabled my virus protection. After several minutes installing I get the messgae: Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.0.3 Update.Patch cannot be applied. Please contact product support. But there dioes not appear to be any address to contact support. The cursor on my tools is a blurr of severl + signs and other nondiscript items.
