Photoshop :: PS7.0 Has Suddenly Stopped Working
Apr 24, 2009I have had PS7.0 installed on my PC for years with no issues - then suddenly today it wouldn't open - Partly loads and then says "Adobe Photoshop has Stopped working" and shows the following error: APPCRASHPhotoshop.exe7.0.0.03caf9b42ntdll.dll I have done a system restore (Vista Home Premium) until well before this issue started and it makes no difference I have uninstalled and re-installed PS7 and it makes no difference I have installed the same PS7 onto a different PC and it works fine (also running Vista HP)

Jul 21, 2013Some of my actions in CS5 all of a sudden stopped working.  Some work, but the ones I use most frequently are not working at all. I have re-booted my computer, turned it completely off/on, re-installed the actions and the same ones aren't working. The action will run, but the brush will not work. For instance, an action called Flawless Face will run, but doesn't actually do anything when I go to "brush" the face.Â

Feb 24, 2007And I can't use the pattern stamp tool either. Some switch threw itself and I can't paint or type any more. I created a new blank doc and nothing worked there either. There are no selected areas to be inside of or outside of. Every time I click, the history adds another line, but there isn't anything done.
This kind of thing drives me nuts. *If* there is a reason for invoking the brush and having it not work, there should be an error message like the one for trying to clone stamp without selecting a source.

Nov 9, 2012I have used photoshop CS 5 since it was released and every other PShop since Photoshop 6. Suddenly the Clone Stamp stopped working and keeps telling me I need to alt/click to define. I have tried re-setting all the settings, redoing preference, and even uninstalling and reinstalling the programme. Same thing keeps coming up. Â

Sep 16, 2012In a book I am working on, the zoom toggle suddenly stops working. It shows up, but moving the slider does not change the image size in the photo cell. I can still move the photo around in the cell, but cannot zoom in or out. I can right click to change to zoom to fill or zoom to fit, but cannot manually zoom in or out from that. Tried changing the default method to Z2Fit and Z2Fill, but neither mode solves the problem. I have been working on this book for a while, and the manual zoom has worked seamlessly up til now, and suddenly it doesn't work. I am hoping I accidentally hit a keyboard toggle to turn it off somehow, and just can't figure out how to get it back.

fwiw the problem cropped up as I started adding photos from another source, which were Nikon-based jpg files whereas all the rest previously added were either digitial scans (jpeg or tiff) or Pentax files (RAW & jpegs). I cannot imagine this has anything to do with the problem, but mentioning it just because its the only thing that was different when the problem cropped up.

Feb 4, 2013I have been using lightroom 3.4 and photoshop CS6 for sometime. However suddenly I cant move images from lightroom to photoshop (Ctrl+E) with the "Edit a copy with lightroom adjustment".

When I click this option, it opens the Photoshop. But doesnt open the image. However the other two options "edit a copy" and "Edit original" works fine.

Also when i add photoshop again as another external editor, it works fine. But as you all are aware this create another copy of the image.

What I did I checked the applications path for photoshop and it was correct. I uninstalled lightroom and reinstalled.

Apr 16, 2013I use my color replacement tool to "copy" a color from one clipart image....then use that color to replace a color on another clipart image. This has always worked for me until yesterday. This is PS6.

I copy the color (with the color replacement tool)..then when I switch to the other canvas where my 2nd clipart is....the shade changes! Even if I copy/paste the hex code--it looks different on the two canvasses. The hex number remains the same but the color is very much different. I normally use the bucket to color the 2nd clipart.

Jan 9, 2013I used the liquify tool on a selected area of a picture and it worked fine. Well, now when I select my area and try to use it, it just slightly warps the area and does nothing else. The liquify screen and options never come up. I think it's just repeating what I did in liquify the last time I used it instead of giving me the option to do what I need to do. It just won't let me do ANYTHING with the tool other than the warping(what I think is the "repeating" of the previous uses effects) everything else in photoshop is working fine for me, this is the only problem I'm having. Before this, it would just crash when I tried to open liquify but I fixed that by changing the video codecs/plugins to the ones that work with it so that is no longer a problem, it doesn't freeze or anything. So why is it just repeating what I did last time?

Nov 28, 2012The lasso selection tool in PSE9 is malfunctioning. When I draw a selection, I immediately get a message saying: "Warning: No pixels are more than 50% selected. The selection edges will not be visible."

This is the kind of message I would normally get when I select wrong numbers for feathering. But now the message comes up when I use the lasso tool to try to select an area. When I hit cancel the message, the selection disappears. But the pulldown menu shows that I can "deselect." When I do that, and start all over, I get the same problem.

I quit and restarted PSE9 to try to fix this but it didn't work. Then I restarted my Mac computer, but that didn't fix it either

Sep 26, 2013My MacBook Pro had been able to use the Rotate Canvas feature in the earlier release of Photoshop CC I downloaded in July, 2013. With the update in September, this feature has stopped working and it no longer detects my video card. True, I don't have 512 Megs of Video memory. And I have tried to install updated NVidia drivers for my computer... but even it refuses to update. My computer has 2 video cards depending on power settings.

I can not accept that rotate canvas does not work because of my video card or my lack of video card memory. Both Maya and ZBrush are able to handle this operation using software rendered modes. Maya is also able to use my hardware using Viewport 2.0.

May 1, 2012Generally, i think the new crop tool is pretty good. However, i'm having some problems with predefined sizes / areas.Let me try to explain:

1. For example, I have a scanned image that is 26.14 x 20.32 cm @300ppi
2. I have defined a size called 'Half Page' which is 23.5 x 15.5 cm @300ppi

Now, what i would expect is that:
1. The moment i open the scanned image, click the crop tool and select the 'Half Page' setting, the crop boundaries would show up up at the correct setting in terms of size and resolution.
2. I should then have a window within which i could move the image to get the parts i want into the crop box.

This is not happening:
1. The crop size (box) is showing as 23.5 x 15.5.
2. The info is showing as 26.14 x 17.24
3. The image size is showing the same and @ 300ppi.

Apr 27, 2013I am using Photoshop CS6 v13.1.2 and I'm experiencing an issue with the crop tool. Whenever I use the crop tool, move the frame around and then zoom in on the image, the image becomes noisy, pixelated or has other 'graphic glitches'. I changed the PS preferences to not use the GPU and then rebooted the computer. Still the same issue without the GPU.

I noticed that the text on the replacement image was not smoothed as the original was despite using exactly the same font. The 'jaggies' were very pronounced. I have trawled the help pages and all the preferences available and can't find away to return the text to 'smoothed'.

My normal workflow is:

Open RAW file, edit, then separately save PSD and JPG in Irfanview (maybe an odd choice but it's familiar and easy to use).

Just recently I've noticed a problem in Irfanview when entering and saving IPTC data, in that suddenly I'm told the file isn't found, when I try to open it the image area is black, and all I can do is delete it. This is possibly unrelated to my PSE 12 problem, however each time the only way to get a usable copy of the JPG is to re-open the PSD in Elements and re-save as a JPG.

Today, in Elements, when I go to Save As (my usual choice) I go through the usual process but when I check on my hard drive the JPG hasn't been saved.
Lightroom :: Suddenly Stopped Getting Dialog To Edit With LR Changes When Opening In Photoshop
Sep 27, 2012I have LR4 and PS CS5. Edited several photos this morning without a problem --But this evening, after editing in LR, clicked command+E to open in Photoshop- as I always do, but didn't get the dialog that gives me the option to edit with LR changes. The files are opening as raw instead of TIFF all of a sudden! I have done nothing different aside from updating the Kubota dashboard.
I deleted the Kubota plug-in since that was the only thing I did out of the ordinary but still no luck. I am deserate to get images edited in LR transferred to PS WITH THE EDITS! Why would it work one minute and not the next?
Just tried to edit in Color Efex from Lightroom and got the dialogue. So...it's only happening with Photoshop. I tried uninstalling Photoshop and reinstalling with updated Camera Raw 6.7 plugin. No luck....
