Jun 28, 2013The crop to pixel dimensions is no longer available in Camera raw 8.1. I have always used this option when creating slideshows to put on a DVD. Where has this option gone? Why?

May 31, 2012after using the crop tool in Photoshop CS6, the Presets and RGB channels options are greyed out on the curves adjustment layer, IF that layer's Properties are displaying at the time. I find I can get the options back if I open and close Curves Display Options.
I am running Windows 7 x64, AMD Radeon HD 5800 with latest drivers (same problem with older drivers).

Mar 28, 2013Photoshop raw is cropping my cr2 images even after I have removed the crop in DPP (Digital Photo Professional - Canon's own raw editing software). I have many images cropped by a Canon 5D3 as it forces a 16:9 crop when you take a still while in video mode. The rest of the data is in the raw file, but this is not read by Camera Raw which forces the 16:9 crop. I have removed the crops in DPP, and even re-cropped with a different crop, saved the files and used every way I can imagine to get them into PS short of turning them into tiffs. I do not want to save as a tiff, as I really like the tools in PS Raw, especially the exposure tool (I am no great photographer but I have some very special and irreplaceable pics form fieldwork overseas which are ahem errr not quite correctly exposed).
My ideal worflow is open folder in DPP - star rate the pics I want to work on. crop them (nice to do this in DPP as it is part of the selection process) then get them into Camera Raw without any more effort, then if an image can be tweaked - do it as a Raw, if it needs more work - get it into PS6 as a tiff and go from there. This seems to minimise effort and minimise file space, at the expense of having two different file types.
is there a better way to review 300 similar pics and get the best selected and processed? I have PS6 with raw 7.3.

Sep 14, 2011in PSP X3 I got several options when I selected the crop function. I saw and could change the count of pixels in X and Y direction and so on. All this options have gone in PSP X4. Or is there a setting I have to change?

I shot with the same camera and lens as I have before (Nikon D40 and 50mm), and I double checked, and I shot everything in RAW. I don't know what's going on. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit, and have LR 3.6. I would really like to use Camera Standard and Camera Vivid.

The options menu has to be hidden somewhere because AutoCad will not allow any other commands after typing options until I hit escape. so i tried to install the update.... installed it fine, kept getting the same message when i would try to open the photo. after researching online i found the suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop elements. i did that once, tried the update again...same results. uninstalled again. tried the update again and still getting the same message. ive checked the adobe website and everywhere i look says the version of the camera raw DOES support my camera (nikon D7100).

In this instruction, he takes images into Camera RAW and selects a tab called Profile, and it automatically detected the camera from metadata and made corrections.
I was sold, subscribed to Adobe Cloud, downloaded Photoshop and started following his tutorial. When I got to the lens correction part, my Camera RAW has no Profiles tab. Brown does say that you need the latest version, but I have assumed that since I just subscribed and downloaded, that I have that.

Feb 26, 2013In the old days, one could just use the crop tool and, while drawing crop lines, check the perspective box if you found that you needed to change the perspective. With CS6 if you start with the crop tool, and find you want to change the perspective, you have to change tools to the new perspective crop tool. In the process, you have to tell the newly opened dialog box that you don't want to crop, to get to the perspective tool, which now has reset to its defaults. You've lost your cropping and you have to start over.

Jan 22, 2008I've been using the crop tool without any knowledge of the little boxes you can fill in to restrict its WxH dimensions. I always wanted my crops to come out at a 2:3 ratio and could never get them perfect since I was just eyeballing it.
So then I found the WxH controls and if I put "2 in" for width and "3 in" for height, my image will come out as desired, no scaling of the image, but with the unfortunate side effect that my DPI has been changed, which causes problems for me later on. Now if I put "2 in" x "3 in" and then specify 72dpi in the "resolution" field, it will actually scale my image which is not what I want either. Now if I put "2 px" by "3 px" of course it will massively scale my image, which again is not what I want.
What I want is to re-crop my image to a 2:3 ratio, WITHOUT scaling, AND without modifying DPI. Is this possible with the crop tool? It seems that my WxH numbers are required to have units after them and I don't want any of those units (inches, px, mm, etc). I want unitless cropping, basically cropping by ratio. Does this make any sense?
I have a work-around which involves batch resetting all my DPI's at the end of the session. But that adds another step to my workflow which is not a very elegant solution.

Jun 2, 2010For some reason when using the path option in inventor studio for camera animation the camera rolls for no reason?? I have created two helical curve sketches around my product, the outer curve is the path for the camera and the inner curve is the path for the target. Both curves are the same height and have 1 revolution. When i play the camera it works out fine untill it hits 1/4 of the way through and suddenly flips 180 degrees so now the camera is upside down, once it hits 3/4 of the way it flips back again to the correct rotation. If i dont create an inner curve for the target and place the target directly in the centre of my product with no path to follow the camera spins all over the place when it follows the curve.

Nov 25, 2008I shoot photos with a Nikon D2X and my wife uses a Nikon D70. If I open a D70 raw file, and then go to camera calibration, the profiles available are for various standard profiles and D2X profiles. The D70 profiles do not show in the drop down list. All of the profiles have been downloaded, from Adobe, and installed.
If I open a D2X raw file, the standard and D2X profiles are shown in the dropdown box.
Have I missed something in the installation? Do the profiles have to be loaded somehow?
Lightroom :: Camera Calibration - Specific Camera Models Not Listed
Dec 28, 2011I'm an amateur moving up to LR 3 and have been trying to learn this program by reading the LR3 book by Scott Kelby. He shows that the Camera Calibration feature has some settings for specific cameras yet the drop down menu has none listed. I've upgraded to 3.6 and the images were copied from raw to DNG.
