View 2 RepliesUsing the color picker, I select a hue on the right side and then I select a color and a value for the color by dragging up or down in the field. If I then take the hue slider and drag it to a different hue and do not touch the location of the circle in the color field, is the new color the same value as the previous color?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm working in a CMYK workspace on a vector graphic with multiple shapes. The above photo is a portion of the graphic as it appears in Illustrator. There are only three color swatches being used.
When I export the file to a PNG, this is what happens:
The two shapes that make the creases of the hand come out a dull color that looks as though the opacity was lowered. I'm using the exact same color swatch for these two shapes as I am for the other blue areas seen in the photo. I've even tried to retrace the two shapes entirely, but I had the same result. My guess is that it has something to do with the yellow area, but I don't understand why it would be having trouble when the yellow shape in the bottom-left corner functions normally when a blue shape is placed in front of it.
I'm trying to create an action to change two specific colors in ~300 different logo files (.ai and .eps). I'm coming from Photoshop so I assume there is a way to create a droplet from an Illustrator Action but that's a different topic.
The colors are Pantone 143 and 287 which need to be changed to 143 U and 287 U, respectively.
Here are the steps that I think I need to record for my action: Unlock all layersAdd new colors to swatch boardSelect all layersRecolor Artwork... (Edit -> Edit Colors -> Recolor Artwork... This step is not recorded?)Save file The problem is that the Recolor Artwork step is not recorded.
In 2006 I started a vector-based comic using CorelDraw, made for posting on the web in RGB. Over the years I've made the transition to a more CMYK-friendly palette that works on the web, though a handful of heritage characters still have the old RGB profiles. I'm looking to do a book collection now and, as such, want to convert these characters' specific colors to their fitting CMYK counterparts.
Is there a batch process that allows me to convert a specific handful (maybe 2 dozen) colors RGB --> CMYK across a number of files? I'm looking at hundreds of pages of artwork here, so even Corel's Object Find/Replace would be a tedious slough.

I am trying to get this done since last few days but could not
Ok here is the problem, I need a rectangle see attached file with different RGB colors at all four corners and also middle. I have mentioned the RGB on the image.
I've had a simple lisp I've been using for years that suddenly disappeared. It required that you identify a block name, tag name, and the value that you want the tag to be. All of this is performed via command line, so it is scriptable. Since I lost it, I've been experimenting with -attedit. This command comes frustratingly close to what I'm looking for, except it only appends an existing tag, or replaces a specific string within the tag; I can't get it to replace the entire tag, regardless of its value.
1> Any lisp routine that does what I describe?
or
2> How to make -attedit replace a tag value without regard to what the value currently is (like a * wildcard)?
I am using CS5 and in Filter > Texturizing there are just the four pre=set textures, Canvas, Burlap etc. In the older versions of Photoshop it was possible to choose a texture using a file of one's own. Is this possible n CS5 ?

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? The Metron font is quite distinctive, so it needs something that is unique in it's own right, yet subtle and unobtrusive and that offers a good balance with the Metron.

I would like to go to a 24 inch flat screen.
I don't understand all the techie stuff about monitors and I have been reading. Most reviews I've seen to do with monitors seem geared towards viewing HD video and video editing. I only work with photos.
I can't afford those high-end monitors although salivate when I see 'em.

How do you choose fonts to go with various images? Do you just cycle through the ones you got until you find what looks right? Or for certain things do you generally use a set of fonts, like this font that font and another font to use usually when making an ad (or go more specifically? and go for ceratin fonts when the subject matter is cars, as opposed to nature, as opposed to computers, as opposed to people etc.). Are there guides to choosing fonts that I just can't find? General fonts used with fantasy artwork, general fonts used with sci-fi artwork, fonts used with something else more broad or more specific?
And how would a knowledge of typography help exactly with choosing fonts, or would it help?
I'm just asking this out of pure curiosity, sort of... And the fact that I'm not too fond of trying to pick out fonts for an image/sig/something by having to cycle through all of the fonts that I have. I'm just wonderin' if, when I'm working on something more on the fantasy side, a certain group of fonts generally look better, or when with something else, another set of fonts generally look better.
Hi, I'm trying to merge photos that I shot for HDR from Bridge. When I select a few photos and use the command 'Tools/Photoshop/Merge to HDR/', the images open up in the dialog OK but the exposures it is 'guessing' are all wrong. It is selecting my underexposed shot as the 'EV 0', with my properly exposed and over exposed shots listing as 'EV +1.64' and 'EV -4' respectively. This is all wrong.
- Is there a way to change what Photoshop selects as the exposures?
I tried moving them, all sorts of click combinations, etc. It appears that they are stuck. When I shoot, it is -2EV, 0EV, +2EV.
Now interestingly, when I first open the photos in Photshop, then launch the 'Merge to HDR' dialog, adding the open files, it picks up the exposure just fine. This is just adding a few more steps to the workflow.
saving a file in PS6 and choosing jpeg, ps save in iff and the same thing happens in other formats. The only righteous are psd and tiff format show.

When the photo opens in Photoshop all the Spot Removals I have done are *gone*! I can not say I have noticed this before, and I have been using LR5 since it became available. But now nothing works - It keeps doing this, no matter how many times I close PS and LR and re-open. Spot Removal just keeps getting reset when I wanna edit a photo in Photoshop.

What I want to know is if there is a way to make a hotkey or at all save specific options for specific tools. Let's say I'm using the 'Paintbrush, Opacity 70%, Hardness 075, Size 4.00' as my "standard outline tool". Can I some how save that preference (and any other tool such as "Specific Eraser Op. 100%, Hard. 100, Size 10.00) so that I can easily switch between "Ouline Brush" and "Specific Eraser" . Maybe to the 'f-buttons'
I'd like to be able to make maybe 5 specific tools:-Outline Brush
-Small Eraser
-Big Eraser
-Detailed Color brush
-Big Color Brush.

View 1 Replies View RelatedChoosing between different trays of a printer in this situation:
Tray #1: 8.5 x 11 white paper.
Tray #2: 8.5 x 11 transparency vellium.
The Illustrator reference doesn't list a way to choose between trays. The only way I can see to select the paper you want is by size. But what if they are the same size, just different material?
I'm wondering if I would have to set up a custom paper in the printer itself and have the printer report it in a "PaperInfo" call? Or, is there something that isn't in the reference that would enable me to choose the tray I need?
Has Lightroom 4 addressed the problem of choosing which monitor to show your secondary display? I know this was a requested feature on LR3. How do you set it?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm using LR 2.6 on a Mac running 10.7.4 (Lion).
The program keeps crashing/closing ( not freezing in screen) when I try to change the destination folder when importing.
i've not encountered tis problem before. It's just appeared since my upgrade to Lion.
It occurs regardless of the camera being used (or import from external HD). If I import to the currently selected folder everything works fine. And all editing functionality seems normal when working with images currenly in my LR library.
The crash occurs when selecting the destination folder and hitting "choose". That is to say it's before hitting the final "import button", and is definitely triggered by choosing the alternate folder.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have to make it possible to insert table by choosing any of it's corners. I cannot get it to work with choosing bottom corners - I can't get the exact height of the table.
The sample code of the one-row table is:
acApp.Document doc = acApp.Application.DocumentManager.MdiActiveDocument;Editor ed = doc.Editor;Transaction tr = ed.Document.Database.TransactionManager.StartTransaction();try{ BlockTable bt = (BlockTable)tr.GetObject(doc.Database.BlockTableId, OpenMode.ForRead); Table tb = new Table(); tb.InsertColumns(0, 24, 1); tb.SetRowHeight(4); tb.Columns[0].Width = 24; tb.Columns[1].Width = 24; tb.Cells[0, 0].TextHeight = 2; tb.Cells[0, 0].TextString = "some text"; tb.Cells[0, 0].Alignment = CellAlignment.MiddleRight; tb.Cells[0, 1].TextHeight = 2; tb.Cells[0, 1].TextString = other_text_from_variable; tb.Cells[0, 1].Alignment = CellAlignment.MiddleCenter; tb.HorizontalCellMargin = 0; tb.VerticalCellMargin = 0; tb.GenerateLayout(); tb.Position = // exactly... what should I do here? BlockTableRecord btr = (BlockTableRecord)tr.GetObject(bt[BlockTableRecord.ModelSpace], OpenMode.ForWrite); btr.AppendEntity(tb); tr.AddNewlyCreatedDBObject(tb, true); tr.Commit();}catch (Autodesk.AutoCAD.Runtime.Exception ex){ ed.WriteMessage("
ERR: " + ex.Message);}finally{ tr.Dispose();}
Now... I'm trying to make 1-row table width the height 4. I should set tb.Position by just subtracting 4 from the Y-value of the clicked point... NOT.
tb.Height gives me 4. But I get the table with height 5.667. And I can't just use that value for subtracting, because even then, bottom-right corner is about 0.2 above or below clicked point... (X-value is correct and equals the clicked point's X-value.)
The same thing happens when I insert a table with the number of rows depending on the number of the records selected from DB. The same thing happens, when I use obsolete .NumRows and .NumColumns. What am I missing?
I have generated a batch of several thousand drawings, and then realized that my 'Page 3' paper space is positioned over page 2 in the model! Is there a way that I can tell 'Page 3' to change position to co-ordinates of my choosing, using only script, so that I can write a batch program to change them all?
My only other option is to correct the error in the master drawing and generate all the thousands of drawings again, which is why I'm keen to explore alternatives!

I assume this is a limitation of Illustrator and there's no way to keep both color spaces. Under that assumption, Is it possible to choose the profiles used for the conversion from RGB to CMYK? Can Illustrator be made to use the RGB and CMYK profiles defined in its Color Settings to make this conversion?
I'm making a simple template to laser cut. The laser cutter acts as a printer and you choose the power, speed, etc. for each color that is in the document. I only want to cut, so I only have RGB red lines at 0.001 pt thickness. Or at least that was the plan. One of the shapes in my template has come out a different red (the swatches were CMYK despite the document colour mode being RGB). I would now like to select all the paths in the document and make them all RGB red. However, when I open the color panel from the dock the sliders are CMYK, again this is despite the document color mode being RGB:
How do I change all the paths to be RGB red?How do I stop Illustrator offering me CMYK options and swatches and offering RGB instead?
