Photoshop :: CS6 Crashes Until Download Current Camera Raw Update?
Dec 15, 2012
I have used PS CS 5 and 6 for a couple of years and never had a crash until I downloaded the current Camera Raw update. Now it crashes in the middle of every edit session. Can I remove the update, or is there some other fix?
When transfering images from Lightroom to Photoshop HDR for instance. message says update Camera Raw. Update attempts all come back to 'update server is not in service' --
For some reason, I when I try to download the current Lightroom 3.6 version, it downloads most of the way then stops and an error window pops up saying it's not possible to download the file and to try saving the file to disk first.
my PSE11 was working fine until i bought a new camera and tried to upload photos from my RAW files. It gave me this message
"Could not complete your request because the file appears to be from a camera model which is not supported by the installed version of Camera Raw.Please visit the Camera Raw documentation for additional information."
so i tried to install the update.... installed it fine, kept getting the same message when i would try to open the photo. after researching online i found the suggestion of uninstalling and reinstalling photoshop elements. i did that once, tried the update again...same results. uninstalled again. tried the update again and still getting the same message. ive checked the adobe website and everywhere i look says the version of the camera raw DOES support my camera (nikon D7100).
After an, automatic, update to camera raw 7.3 in Photoshop Elements 11 all Camera Profiles are gone. All that is left is "Matrix". I use Elements 11, windows Vista on a 64-bit machine, my camera is a Nikon D7000.
How do I find the current version of VSProX6 that I am running?
I have tried numerous times to download the Newblue TitlerEX from the "Do More Tools" tab. I get an "Your download is ready. Install Now" notice, but nothing happens and nothing appears in my download folder.
I can't download updates from the update option in PS CS 5.1. Also having trouble installing the update directly from ADOBE. The program is crashing my system on a regular basis.
I have ordered a Mac Pro, but it hasn't shipped from apple. But, there has been talk that there MIGHT be a hardware update to the Mac Pro in the near future, and it might be more cost effective to wait for that. Sitting on a ordered machin e that hasn't shipped yet, I'm having serious second thoughts on whether to cancel, or let the order go through.
It really want/need a new machine, I'm a working web designer and graphic artist that owns my own business, so I'm chained to my Wacom 50-60 hours a week, trying to stay in business. Right now I have a 4 year old pentium machine that I've just had enough of.
So, I ordered the Mac Pro with the following specs
Quad 2.66ghz 5 gigs of ram (added 4gigs to the existing 1) 250gb standard drive, and adding in a few more for scratch disk and storage Dual Nvidia 7300 cards, for up to 4 monitors (I currently will use 3) and the rest of the standard Mac Pro goodies. Cost about $3500
I'm a constant worry-wart and I'm thinking "Man, next month they'll have Octo-core machines with more ram for the same price, and I'll be screwed with this outdated junker macpro!!"
So, with the above specs, will I ever need more power for doing low-res web graphics, Flash design, php/html/css coding in dreamweaver, and designs in illustrator and indesign? And sometimes, all at once?
Or am I dreaming and this machine will ALWAYS be more than enough for web design work. Because in a day or 2, they're going to ship it to me and then it's a done deal.
I wanted a hot-rod. But the mac-forum guys have me all worried that an even better hot-rod is (maybe) just around the corner, and the smart choice is to wait and see what the Mac Pro v.2 looks like, and THEN buy it. Or, maybe I'd wait 6-8 months, they release MPv2, and it's not that huge of a deal and I'm out 6 months of having a decent machine (since I already waited a year... I bought a Mac Pro on the release day and canceled it).
I have tried to download the trial version of PS CC repeatedly. The downloads were unsuccessful but the download window says I am up to date and will not let me try again. How do I work around this?
When I download and try to install Camera RAW 4.6 on my Mac (OSX 10.7.5, Safari browser) I get the following message"Could not complete your request because photoshop does not recognize this type of file."
I have a problem. When I connect the camera to the computer the camera is recognized, content appear into Downloader window then I click Get Media but it is doing nothing.
Why doesn't Adobe Bridge download files from "get photos from camera", error message" Adobe Bridge CS6 cannot obtain files from this device. ensure that the device is connected properly,or that the battery is charged, and try again.
When I'm using a card reader that does not require batteries, is it because they are Leica DNG files??? I have managed to drag and drop instead but would prefer to use "get photos from camera".
I can't download any images with Lightroom 4.4 from any of my cameras, NIkon NEF, or Canon IMG, or Sony DSC images.I used to download all my images with the previous versions...3.0 I have Mac 10.7.5.
On my PC (Windows 7) Photoshop CS6 has been crashing since updating though Adobe Application Manager a couple of days ago. What is the best practice to uninstall and reinstall PS? I've had serious issues uninstalling before, so it's not necessarily a simple answer.
I also use the Adobe programs on a Mac and I found it odd that Adobe told me all the applications needed updating when I checked on my Windows 7 system, but said they were all up to date on my Mac (an hour later).
Right now I can't even open Photoshop however before I updated it would open. Now it is crashing on start-up. Also during the updated this error happened:
Some additional information I've noticed is that the blue background of the launch screen has suddenly become transparent. Some things I've tried to fix it are clearing cache and cleaning bad font.
However I was hoping to work on a project with it. Is there anything else I could try without resorting to uninstalling and re-installing it? At this time I don't have a way to re-install it as it's a company's version.
This was not happening before the updated was installed. Had I known the updated would cause the program to crash I would not have installed it.
I've experienced a large number of crashes since upgrading to last week's 13.0.2 update. I am on a MBP retina.
There seems to be no consistency in the crashes. They happen on things such as changing tools, transforms, moving, zooming in... etc, but always with some action involved.
I am having periodic OpenGL crashes since the 13.0.1 Photoshop update this week. I am running the current 301.42 Nvidia drivers on a GTX550Ti card. There were no driver crashes in the 3 months before the update and the Nvidia driver was the same driver during this entire period.
i have cs6 and tried to update camer raw to 7.4. DNG was downloaded but camera raw stayed at 7.0. Also the option for updating through photoshop will not work as window comes up saying server error. i closed my virus protector but same response.
I have a fully licensed version of CS6, along with LR 4.x. LR updated to Camera Raw 7.2 about a week ago. PS CS6 (extended 64) will not find the update. It is a pain in my sitter every time I go to edit a photo to see a warning.
I do not want to hide the warning though. I want the update. Adobe has about an hour wait time for technical support. A reinstall is not something I would like to do.
Trying to upload camera raw update for photoshop CS5 and the installer asks me to close the Bridge, I do this and press continue and the installer asks me to close bridge again, even though its closed...Need this update to recognise my a65 camera.
Does your new update for Camera Raw 7.1 read the raw files for the Nikon D600 camera? I have updated to CS6 and Lightroom 4.3 and I still am having trouble getting the raw files read. What can I do?
