Sep 30, 2013I'm new to photography but taking every chance I can to learn and slowly upgrade my tools. I recently switched from a PC(CS3) to Macbook Pro(CS6). Since doing so, I am having a huge problem. My photos show up exactly as I want them to on my Mac, in and out of Photoshop, but look washed out almost everywhere else, including the web, on PC's and in print(Shutterfly). There are a few exceptions like facebook, but still not all of the photos show up the same quality as what I saw on my Mac.

I thought I did a good job of calibrating my Mac and I'm not doing anything different in PS, but I'm completely lost on what could be causing this.I can upload one of my jpg's so you can see what I'm seeing off my Mac if needed.

AutoCAD Architecture :: Switched From Metric To Imperial
Jan 11, 2012I have been working on a drawing for a client in the Metric template, everything displayed in metric, measures in metric, etc. Then this morning when I opened the file, the measurements have switched to imperial. The profile is still the metric one, and when I enter a value for a line length it is clearly using metric because it goes where I expect it to go, however the numbers displayed onscreen are in imperial. Is there an easy way to get this to switch back to displaying in Imperial?

Oct 4, 2012Just installed C3D on my Dell POS Windows 7 machine (OS is up to date).
I have noticed that the functionality between using the F3 and F8 keys reverses itself when first used. If I hit F3 I turn Ortho ON/OFF. If I hit it again, I turn Osnap ON/OFF. If I do the F3 key, then do it again to get the Osnaps set how I want, then go to the F8 key to set the Ortho mode back to where it was before I hit F3, it changes my Osnap setting, and I end up chasing my tail around and around. I can use the SCREEN buttons down below my working area. but I prefer keys, finding it far easier to hit F3 without even having to look at the key board rather than put my cursor over the little square of turn Osnaps ON/OFF there.Â
Lightroom :: 5 Language Suddenly Switched To Dutch / Won't Switch Back
Jun 19, 2013Lightroom 5 today suddenly switched to dutch, even though in teh preferences screen it's still set to english. I can't find a way to switch it back to english. It seems to have done this after I installed the app manager update (which quite frankly is pretty horrid now).

How to get lightroom back to english? I don't want to have to relearn all these technical terms.

Jul 23, 2012I have a user and when he's in sketch mode he trys to draw a line but it keeps on snapping to a grid. Both snap and grid setting are switched off. I can't find any settings he has different from my own set-up so I'm finding it hard to fox this problem. FYI, this user is a bit of a problem and tends to change settings without even realising he's doing it.
He's using Inventor 2012.

Dec 2, 2013Why can't Windows Explorer show thumbnail previews of DNG's on my Windows 8.1 64bit Pc. I assume is has something to do with not having the DNG codec. However, on Adobe's website it says their DNG codec only works on Windows 7.

Jan 10, 2012This just started happening after I downloaded DWG TruViewer. I am working on LT 2008 using Fusionware on a MacPro. I needed the viewer to convert newer drawings from an architect. Now, when I double click on a drawing in Explorer a separate AutoCad window opens for each drawing I need open. I prefer to just go up to Window>and click on the one I need at that time, especially if I have several to switch between because it is easier to see the file name I want.
SDI is set to 0
Taskbar is set to 0
Relaunched the program
I can't open files using File>Open because the program crashed each time and Autodesk is not issuing anymore fixes for 2008.  (Yes, we should upgrade but there is no money budgeted)
Right-click on any .dwg file and go to Properties>General>Change> and select the AutoCad LT launcher as the preferred program
Since I am in Window 7 instead of XP the File Types tab has been removed from Folder Options  so I can't fix it that way.
So, why did this change? FYI that stupid TruViewer made lots of unnecessay changes to my AutoCad and Explorer programs that I am still trying to sort out like changing the file icon and hiding the file extensions. Are they trying to make it hard to find files or what?
And next, how can I reset the default so that double clicking on a .dwg in Explorer opens in already open AutoCad window?

Dec 31, 2012I have Photoshop CS6 on my Windows 7 laptop, and it works fine. But, for Christmas I received a Toshiba Notebook with Windows 8. I tried the trial of Windows 8 on my other laptop a few months ago, but since it was so new not too many programs worked on it. For instance, my VisTablet didn't have updated drivers for Windows 8. Luckily, they do now, but I'm still having the same problem I did with Photoshop CS6 last time. It starts up, and I can see it in my Task Manager. BUT, it dies. It just shuts itself down. It's there one minute, but then you notice the dropping numbers and then it's gone.

Feb 26, 2013My processor is Dual core 1.8ghz and Ram is 2GB.I am not upgrading my pc for now. As i plan to wait and then spend properly for a strong PC. Because upgrading my ram is not possible as mother board does not support it. If i will change motherboard, then more money. So i will wait till hardware update.

Photoshop :: Windows Always On Top?
Jun 18, 2009How does one keep the windows / panels always on top? That is, when moving around images within Photoshop, I'd like it so the images are not able to cover up the panels / windows on the right side. I know my CS3 version did this automatically, but I can't seem to find a setting for this in CS4.

May 6, 2009I just installed the trail version of photoshop cs4 on the 64bit version of the windows 7 RC.Initially I had some problems, similar to when I tried to install it on Vista Home Basic 64bit (which is not supported by cs4 at all) The thumbnail was displaying correctly what should have been in the canvas, but the canvas area itself was not displaying anything other than grey.then I switched off the Windows 7 Aero theme and suddenly everything was working, which is neat. I would have liked to keep aero on, but whatever works...

Dec 29, 2008I have installed Photoshop CS4 in Vista Ultimate 32 bits, in the installation i don´t have any problems.
When click to run Photoshop, Vista launch a message saing me to close de application, so i can´t start Photoshop.
Then i update de drivers of my Graphics card (ATI HD2900), and i try to start photoshop with the new drivers. The photoshop starts without problems.
I open it and i click in the right pane of styles, and Windows launch another message to close de application.
After that i start Photoshop and i read a message that says that Photoshop have desactivate the aceleration of GPU because there were some problems.
I go to the menu of performance in settings and Vista launch another message to close de application when i click in performance to open the settings.
Then i try to open another time the application and i try to open a *.png image file and i paint something in it, then i click in the "X" to close, but the application doesn´t close (i prove with "X" of the application and with the "X" of the image tab). I have to close it with de Task Manager.
Then i try to open a *.jpg image file and Vista launch another message to close the application.
