I am working on a big project that involves black and white photography for newspapers. I haven't had any experience with using line screens over my images and am wondering how to do them correctly. I tried help in Photoshop but I didn't have very good results with the Bitmap and then 85 line screen setting. Everything looked very noisy (worse than a printed newspaper) when I printed the file out.

Before long I was up to 100 pages, looking fantastic. But then the thought come to me, I have set may page colour to BLACK and all my drawing and text are WHITE as I said looks fantastic until you go to print a page. How much black Ink would you use printing 100 pages black.
SO MY QUESTION IS CAN COREL REVERSE THE LINE ART TO BLACK AND THE PAGE TO WHITE SO I CAN HAVE A PRINTABLE VERSION ?
I have tried publishing to PDF then in acrobat replacing document colours and on screen that works fine but when you print it still prints
With the black background and white text for some reason.
I just purchased and installed Adobe Illustrator CS4. The first day I used it I had no problem, but now when I open images I get a black screen. Nothing I do causes the image to show. Event though I can see the images in the Layers control panel.

I usually draw a black line to the item. However, the color range sometimes forces me to place a white line right next to the black line (so people can see the line). Dashed lines are not desired.

What format would I need to save a scanned in black and white line drawing so that I can color it in using the Fill function (like a comic book)? I used to do it with earlier versions on PhotoPaint (6 and 9) but haven't done it in a while and now cannot find the right format.
Now what happens is when I use the fill function the whole image turns to the selected color, it wont recognize the black lines as borders.
I have a schematic or drawing that I just need to increase the line thickness on. It is just all black lines and letters that are currently only like 1 pixel thick. When printed it is hard to see. Is there a good filter or method that any of you know of that will allow me to increase the thickness of these lines?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter installing windows upgrades on win 7 (64-bit) my Corel X6 products have gone mad.When i try to open Draw or Paint the program loads to the splash screen and locks.the splash screen is black and the program does not respond anymore.I tried to uninstall the X6 Graphics suite but the uninstall screen is Black as well..I tried to uninstall every windows update to the date the problem started, but no luck.I have too much info on my computer to do a whole install of all programs.

Basically a CAD program I use only exports PNG files. The CAD program can export in black and white and in color. The color PNG files open fine in CorelDraw. The black and white PNG files just show up as a black filled box.

I have an image where i chopped seperate parts of different pictures, desaturated all 4, but on the one, there seems to be more "grays" in the black and white photo... i want the grays to be more black. Messing with the brightness and contrast isnt doing it...

View 9 Replies View RelatedI am using live paint to paint cartoon character illustrations. The artwork is brought into Illustrator CS3 and live traced. Then I convert it to a live paint group and use the paint bucket to fill. Everything looks fine no matter how much I zoom in. If I bring the AI file into Photoshop CS6 I can see a thin white line between the black line art and the fill. This is most noticeable where black meets black. I can also see this sometimes in file previews while browsing through files. If the white line cannot be seen in Illustrator is the file ok? I did just upgrade to CS6 if that would make a difference.

I can easily change the background color itself, but I can't seem to make the image look as smooth is it does in it's current state.
it dosent look like ordinary black and white, and apparently the models hair was brown, so the effect wasnt created by mearly turning down the saturation and up the brightness. Ofcourse it's not so hard to remove all the color of a picture, but then it would be a black/white/grey picture, and duotone, which does actually what I want, isn't a great help either, because there's almost no way of telling what the original picture looked like.

Photoshop CS 5.1 only prints in black and white. It is not a new printer (Kodak) and I have printed in color in Photoshop in the past. All other applications will print in color. Have removed the settings folder, but that did not do anything.
