I have a ellipse I'm trying to fill with a solid color. The fill always "feathers" the edges. I don't want this. I want it to fill with the solid color only. How can I stop the "feather" on the edge?
I want a white border (30 px) aroud it. So I select the space aroud it, then I inverse the selection so the car is selected.
Then I go select-modify-expand and give it a border of 30 px. The selection looks "squarisch", i mean not smooth, so i go to select-feather and give it a amount of 15. Now is the selection smooth, the way I want it.
But now the problem:
If i want to fill the selection with white, the color doesnt stay in the selection. there is some sort of gradient white outside the selection. That isn't what I want. Only the selection should be white, nothing outside it.
I'm trying to create a selection out of the square marquee tool with rounded corners. The only way I know how to do this is to set the feather to 5px or 10px or whatever. But when I try to fill this selection with a certain color (with the paint or pencil tool) I get a gradient. That is, instead of a uniform color all throughout the selection, it's almost clear near the edges and slowly becomes opaque as you move closer to the center of the selection. I do I create a square selection with rounded edges so that filling it creates an evenly opaque color?
My Basic GPU features were working flawless with Photoshop version 13.0 After I update to version 13.1 for CC members all my GPU features stop working. Is there a form to set my Photoshop version 13.1 in order to use my GPU features or there is a huge difference between versions that doesn't allow me to use the GPU features?
I have a simple image that is a black and white cut-out of an object. I have been trying to find a way to fill the white area with a piece of an image I have of an animal-print.
What is the easiest way to fill that area with the pattern?
Maybe make it so that the black and white cut-out actually performs like a cut out and you could just put the layer of the pattern underneath the cut-out?
Essentially I'm doing the same effect as you would use to blur a face; adjustment layer-mask-guassian blur. However, I can't figure out how I would go about feathering the edges of the blur. Instead of having a box with very clear cut edges where the blur/mask ends, I'd like to feather the edges and have the blur fade into the rest of the comp.
I create a column graph, I set my column styles, modify the text and other attributes to how I want them to look but if I change the data the whole graph keeps reverting back to the basic chart. Is there anyway to stop this because its really irritating when I need to create a set of 20 graphs.
I´m using Edge for couple of days and start to work with and I love it. Now I´m trying to build a slide animation, so the content moves from right to left and vice versa.The controller goes with buttons.
I'm not very good with JS, but for now I got it to move the content from left to right. Now what I want is, to stop the timeline if a certain label is reached. This is my code for the buttons if click:
var myLabelLocation = sym.getLabelPosition(""); if (sym.getPosition() < 2000) { sym.play(myLabelLocation); } if (sym.getPosition() > 2000) { sym.playReverse(myLabelLocation); }
I like to say if the playhead reached 2000ms oder the label "team", than stop!
I have made several Adobe Edge Animate projects and have inserted a stop trigger for the "home" arrival after animation intro. I just created a new project and can't get the stop trigger function to work. When I preview it plays through the entire timeline. I've tried several different combinations of triggers - sym.play from () at the beggining of the timeline and then adding a sym.stop at () and no matter what, it plays through the entire timeline.
then you add that symbol to stage and have the following code in document.compositionReady
var mySymbolObject = sym.getSymbol("HoverExample"); var targetElement = mySymbolObject.$("backing"); targetElement.css({"background-color":"#111111"});
where mySymbolObject is the symbol on the stage, backing is a rectangle div and the color is different than the original color in the symbol then you add the following code for hitbox (rectangle div that is alpha 0) under Hitbox.mouseover
sym.stop("over");
the end result is that the css from the project, in this case the red background color, gets reapplied on mouseover despite me changing the color on startup.
Is there a way to stop all actions once a hotspot has been pressed? I have loaded an mp4 video into my presentation. I have created a slide menu that goes right to left. I made sure to turn the buttons on only in the areas that they are needed. Once I play the movie, it works fine, but when I select my navigation to go to another page the video is still playing in the background.
Having some trouble with the oppacity on my projects. As you can see from the screenshot, I've clearly clicked something because any text or images that I try to add to my project and set the oppacity at 0% - to then build over a few seconds to 100%, will not do this.Yet previous elements that I've added will.
Is there something I need to click to stop the new text and images from changing oppacity immediately. I want them to build over time - I can see that the added keyframe looks different also.
I know Xara provides a range a built in gradient fills (e.g. linear, spherical etc), but does it have the ability to have a gradient follow the edge of an object?
I want to fill the gaps on the edge of the page using the gap tool. I can see it is detecting some gaps but I was wondering what the custom gap option does? and if I could use it to close the specific gaps I want to close. I figured there would be a way using the pen tool so I drew a straight path across the edge and tried to join the paths together using command j but it didn't seem to work :/ I am quite new to illustrator
I reset the feather to 0 but it still seems to be there. That is, I make a selection, and when I color it in, there is still a bit of blur (about 5 to 10 pixels worth) between the colored region and the outside region. How do I ensure that feathering is disabled (or set to zero)?
If I make a section with the marquee tool, and then Select > feather 100 px, I get a smooth rectangular gradient.If I use the same Marquee selection, preceded by feathering in the Options Bar, I get an oval selection reflecting the feathering.I observe the feathering by creating a layer mask, or by dragging the selected Layer into another document.
I want to select an elipse, thats not a problem then I want to make it feathered on the outside of the selection only, leaving all the detail on the inside showng.
In previous versions (CS2 and earlier), if you select a part of an image, including borders, and then apply the feather command, then the selection edges along the borders were not feathered but the selection edge inside the picture (and bordering another part of the picture) was feathered. (The selection may be a rectangle or an irregular shape. In either case it is just the selection edge that is INSIDE the image that is feathered, and the selection edges along the border of the image are not feathered.)
Result: you get a rectangular selection with one edge feathered. (Or with a slightly irregular shape if the selection border within the image is not a straight line.)
Very useful if e.g. if you want to darken the sky in a high contrast sunny-day image.
Now to the problem:
In CS3 feathering occurs on the entire selection, including those parts of the selection that are along the edges of the image.
Result: you get an oval shape selected where all edges are feathered. And you cannot use that to darken e.g. the sky.
I'm trying to get the feather on my selections to retract instead of expand. With any of the marquee tools, I can set the feather in the options bar at the top to n pixels and the selection area retracts by that amount. But if I use the magic wand tool or Select -> Color range... I don't have the feather option on the option bar, but I can go into Select -> Feather... and set it that way. Unfortunately, it seems the same value I enter in there has the opposite effect of the marquee tools' feather. That is, the feather EXPANDS by that amount. I can't enter a negative value since it doesn't allow values below 0.2.
I have made a small 10x10 px. pic (lets say it's a diamond shape), and want to enlarge this to, say, 500x500 px. to get a sort of "digital" effect, where you can see the pixels clearly.
I use free transform to do this, and it looks fine until I press "enter" to confirm transformation.
Then the pic suddenly gets very blurry, like the "feather" effect.
So does anyone know if it's possible to enlarge pictures of this size, and keep the edges "un-feathered"? I've looked around, and can't seem to find a solution ("feather" and "anti-aliasing" is set to "0").
Alternative is if you know a way to make the same effect without having to enlarge the pic.
I made this picture in Photoshop CS2 using the select -> feather, option:
As you can see I feathered a few layers and put them together. I applied the mask layers. But now, when I want to save my picture as a png or jpg file, it saves my picture like:
So almost without the transparency. How do I make sure that the transparency is just as much as in the first picture ? I want it to be at least as like I see it in photoshop. I tried to let someone else save the picture, but it gave the same result. I further tried all sorts of settings when saving the file. But nothing helped until now. I also tried to merge the layers together, without any positive result for my problem though.
If I draw a closed path with pen tool that has sharp angles and then make a selection out of it I always end up with a feathered selection. How do I make the selection follow the path exactly?
I have been using feather on image photo to create the all corner faded edges however after I upgraded to ver CS6, I encounter this problem when I applying the same method using feather (radius: 15-20) on the image photo and did an inverse, a warning message popped out
"Warning: no pixels are more than 50% selected the selection edges will not be visible". Hence, cannot apply any feather on the image, My image is a full solid color layer.
