I want to use a picture as a background with text over it. How do I fade the picture in Photoshop CS so it looks like the background on websites? I want the text to stand out with the faded picture behind it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI cam across this image which has a gradient bar at the top, and
fades out to the background. I'm totally stumped on how to do this.
I tried Gradient Fade Out To Foreground and Gradient to Transparent, but
neither worked!
Does anyone know how to make the edges of the picture fade away and blend with the background?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a picture that I want to use as a very muted background [ in a web site]. There will be text over it, so the picture needs to be toned down [ is that the right phrase?] so it is background material, not interferring with reading text, but still there.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to take a photograph and apply whatever effects are necessary to have it appear to have full color in the center, fading to black and white at the edges (think gradient black to transparent, only I want the fade to be gradient color to B&W).
I'm having a difficult time wrapping my head around the best way to achieve this goal. I work with PS CS6 Extended (v 13.0.1 x32) on a Win XP sp3 platform.
In celebration of our 50th anniversary, I would like to create a series of ads that have a black & white image (old) fading into a full color image (new) as the background. What is the best way to accomplish this?

I have created an image (a replica of our company logo) in Photoshop.
The image contains a vibrant blue to darker blue gradient as the background.
This displays correctly in Photoshop, and will print correctly from there.
However, when I try and use the image in another application (for example InDesign, the image is displayed as a faded blue colour.
Attached are 2 files, which are:
ps.jpg - a screenshot of the file in Photoshop

I use titles a lot with VS x4 and have a couple of questions. I often use the backgrounds available in VS x4 under the titles to add style and make them more visible. I usually fade up to the title and fade back out again. However, when I do this, the title itself fades fairly smoothly but the background looks terrible. Is there any way to get titles and backgrounds to fade in/out together s-m-o-o-t-h-l-y?
Edit: Here's a video from YouTube: [URL].....
Watch the background for "Just a Good Read"... as the title fades off at the end of this title sequence, the background doesn't fade -- it just sort of snaps off. I really like the background but want it to fade in/out smoothly with the title.
Another question about titles: Is there any way to group title elements together so that they become one object? I created a complex title with lots of little elements such as dashes. However, when I move any one element, the others don't move, and lining them up again is a pain. Can I associate these items to create a single object in which everything is moved (and for that matter, sized) together?
Is it possible to adjust the settings for the Color Fade Vertical, or Horizontal, or Center...i.e. position of the color transition zone, width of the zone, etc?

You know how when you're painting, you can hold ALT and it will pick a colour from the canvas? Well, for some reason, mine still picks up the colour but it sets it to the background colour instead of the foreground colour.
And when I actually select the colour picker tool, it will only select the background colour but when I hold Alt, it selects the foreground colour. Basically it's flipped where it's supposed to select.
When I have any kind of layer, and I want to change the foreign or background color (with the color picker) I just cant. When I click on the foreign or background color it automatically selects the eyedropper tool, and I don't want this to happen.

Same thing for the graphics, i only have 6 choices, i want to add a graphic stored on my pc or other ones in the program.
In photoshop elements 11, in a photo book, page 2 and 3 are stored as one image, and have to have the same background color, and layout, how do i change that?
Every time I pick a color either via eye dropper or the swatches tab, it sets it to my background color. It use to set it to my foreground color. How do I change this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI created an image in PS and then went to Dreamweaver to code. I wanted a certain cell to be the same color as the image I created in PS so I set the cell to the same hex value as the one in PS.
When viewed in a browser though, the color is different.
Why?
What do I need to do to make them view the same on the web by using the hex value?
however have never found myself trying to fade a color over another and/ or over writting, i've normally just used a listed color.
If you don't understand what I am talking about, heres an example:
Now here is a crown, with writting and shit... now lets say I wanted to blend the color of the crown OVER the writting and stuff so it was all one color? I've tried the clone tool, mainly because the crown already has partial fades of white.
I'm attempting to tilt this image for use in a game im writing. I've been using Map Object and rotation (Y) but this then causes pixel color changes on the boundary with the background color. How would I tilt this picture without getting the problem?

Is there a transparent vignette available anywhere .
How I choose a color for any new objects I want to create. I've opened the toolbox with ctrl-b, which appears on the left side of the window. If I want to , for example, draw a red rectangle, I use the rectangular selection tool, then the bucket fill, and I don't see how to change the foreground color to red.
I've read elsewhere in the forum that there should be two rectangles somewhere on the screen that show foreground and background color, but I don't see them anywhere.
How do I outline an image so I can change the background color without changing the image color ?
