Photoshop :: 7.0 Crashes / Dropdown Menu Become Gray And Unusable
Sep 2, 2013I am a Photoshop 7.0 user on Windows XP. I have used Photoshop 7.0 for several years with pleasing results. Recently my installed version crashes at the same stage of use. I decided to buy a new program CD and uninstalled the original program. After installation of the new program Photoshop 7.0 still crashes at the same stage. Photoshop 7.0 starts up normally. Opens and displays an image file normally. However as soon as you select an option from the drop down menus e.g.(Filter/Unsharp Mask) the cursor arrow changes to a small square outline and most of the drop down menus become grey and unusable. The View menu still displays and functions normally all others are frozen. My installed version of Photoshop 5.0 works perfectly! Any other way than a complete system re-installation?

Example: CTRL+click on grey channel theoreticly (by my theory) make selection from white depending on its value. So cuting out must leave transparent greyscale image. But it don't (okey, it do, but changes black value):
The same selection inverted and filled with 100%K gives correct result: Is my "theory" about CTRL+click selection wrong? Becouse for my point of view, both ways should give same result.

Aug 18, 2013How do I change the default toolbar background from dark gray to light gray in illustrator CS6? In the older versions, the toolbar backgrounds were light gray. It easier to read on light gray backgrounds. THe same question applies to Photoshop CS6. InDesign CS6 has light gray backgrounds.

Feb 27, 2013My company is switching from ctb files to stb files. With the ctb file, we make concrete hatch with two layers. A top layer with the concrete hatch pattern and a background layer with a solid hatch patern. The ctb file concrete plots the concete hatch black and the solid background hatch light gray. I am using civil 3d 2013 and the hatch allows a seperate background color mask. I am trying to make all my concrete layers (Top of Curb, Curb Flowline, etc.) a certain color scheme, i.e. shades of green. I would like my on screen concrete hatch patern to be a green color with a gray background, but plot the concrete hatch black with a gray background. I can not figure out how to do this without making two layers. Is there a way to use one layer and utilize the background color mask to show on screen green and gray, but plot black and gray?

In 8-bit mode, only some of the "grays" have a mismatching B value and there seems to be more of them when the gradient is created by Gradient Tool than when it is a Gradient Fill layer. The difference seems to be 1 in the cases that I've seen.

In 16-bit mode, I see the B differ from R and G by 7 at black, gradually reducing to 0 at white.

Jun 15, 2013When selecting a sub menu from within a main drop down menu the arrow points to the right but the actual sub menu pops up on the left in most cases. I have only noticed this recently and wonder if I have inadvertently messed up a setting as in the past I cant recall this being so but I don't use the editor a lot so may be mistaken.

May 1, 2012I recently upgraded to 2012 but forgot to install the express tools, Doh!. I installed them through control panel repair and everything works. Except when I close and restart ACAD the menu bar express menu disappears. I can bring it back by using cuiload but this is not ideal. Any way to get it to stick?Â

May 27, 2013Using VS X5 - Just making up a menu for my dvd im burning. Haven made a menu since using ..VS11+ I think it was.
All seems very very familar...similar etc and not asking it to do anything out of the ordinary which 11+ couldnt cope with ( just nowadays using all this AVCHD malaky etc )
Question -Main menu of my dvd - Why am I getting on my main menu page the begininings of my movie!!! I have my main menu setup ( bringing in a pre-made 30second clip on which I will put 'Press Play to watch movie' and/or 'chapter select'. ) When i preview my main menu page...I see the 30second clip i wanted but as it runs so too does my actual movie - at the same time.
I cant seem to find a button to ..basically..tell it not to play the movie as soon as you load the dvd but instead to wait until the 30 second main menu runs and automatically reruns etc until YOU decide to press the 'Play movie' button.

Photoshop :: Why Is 50% Gray Different In CC
Nov 6, 2013When you fill with 50% gray in Pshop CS5 the fill has no effect when set to overlay – this is good!

CC on the other hand creates a 50% gray that is too light and when set to overlay it will lighten the image. This is a pain for creating noise or dodge and burn layers.
Photoshop :: Gray Becomes Tan
Mar 17, 2009I just got my new PC (with a GeForce285 on Vista) and I installed Photoshop CS4. Now my problem is that the gray is not gray. If I fill a rectangle with a basic gray (128,128,128), it paints it with a "tan" color. When I "Save for Web & Devices" for example, the "preview" image is showed with the correct gray. I also "uninstall" CS4 and tried it with CS3 and it produces the same problem. The R,G,B colors seems to produce the correct colors and the B&W are perfect too...

Photoshop :: CS5 - RGB White Looks Gray On Web?
Oct 7, 2013I made a simple logo in pcs5 using RGB saving as jpeg then uploading into blog. The white has a grey hue. I calibrated my mac and checked my color setting in photoshop. I tried CMYK and saving for web and other devices. I did research online and I have had no luck. I even opened another logo, from a different blog, that has a simular setup to mine, into pcs5, saved it and uploaded to the blog to check and it too was greyish. The image is RGB white and looks completely white in preview and pcs5. I just uploaded the image here and it looks okay. Looking at it from an angle and I can see the shadow.

Nov 26, 2006I am building in Photshop CS a site template with several buttons, and moving back and forward between Photoshop and ImageReady.
I don't know what I did but, at a certain moment in time all my layer effects changed the "eye" icon to gray and the effects are not visible anymore EVEN if the gray eye in on. All the images with effects, now, look as no effects would be present BUT the effects have icon eye active (visible) but it is grayer in color than the other eyes.
I can't get out of this state, even if I delete the layers and recreate new ones. The effects are not visible anymore for any of the layers.
Photoshop :: Gray Tones Look Red
Jun 30, 2009I have CS4 and all my gray tone have a strong red cast to them. However, outside of PS, the color looks just fine. I didn't have this problem with CS2. I have combed the internet looking for answers, but the only one I can find is "Calibrate your monitor!". the colors look right in CS2, and the only thing I have changed about my system and/or monitor is my version of PhotoShop (CS2 to CS4).
